This woman continued to berate me, saying I should have waited until Tuesday for pickup, a day I cannot take off for shopping. She didn't apologize for her weird rudeness. When we asked the desk about the buy 1 get 1 have price deals. The desk told us something different than the floor people. At times I asked if this was a promotional deal and they said only the ones with the sign. This was incorrect as we purchased singles of some items and they told us to grab another one if you want the promotional deal. So inventory on the floor was not organized properly into promotional material. The Cost: The items were fairly priced for the quality of merchandise. Refund Policy: I was concerned about the hooded zipped sweaters my daughter was getting as the zippers were very flimsy. I asked the desk what their return policy was because I was concerned with the zippers. They said full refund with original receipt within two weeks. Exchange or store credit if returned in same condition after the two weeks but the time frame was for that was wishy washy. My wife returned the zippered sweaters the next day with original tags in A+ condition and only received a store credit. So based on this it seems that the employees in the store do not know their products very well and their refund policy. Great place if you know what you are getting and are 100% sure that you are satisfied with your decision as their is no refund only only exchange if you change your mind. And the exchange policy is wishy washy so do not know if you can actually exchange the items after two weeks. I would be careful with anything with zippers - Jackets or sweaters etc.. Because if this breaks I do not believe they will take it back for an exchange based on the stores refund policy and wishy washy time-frame to exchange items. So overall the employees have little knowledge of their products or refund policies and I would only go there if you knew 100% what you are getting as their refund policies have become store credit or exchange only in the firs two weeks.

They made snarky comments about how I didn't need a new coat and much more. When I returned with a bunch of friends, since I now had a huge store credit, the sales associate wouldn't even pull a coat for me to try on since he said, "I tried it on the day before". I then told him that I wanted to try it on for my friends so I could get their opinion on the coat. The sales associate then walked away. Talk about rude! I just spent over $1000 in their store and they just walk away?? Are you kidding me?? Luckily I had three amazing friends with me who helped me pull and try on as many coats as possible to find one that would be a decent fit for the cold winter months ahead. This store would not give me a refund. Any other store would have given me a refund or purchased the coat I wanted in the bigger size. I couldn't believe the snarky comments coming out of the employees mouths. My friends were flabbergasted at the attitude the employees were spitting out at us. I will NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!!!! I rather go to a store like Holt Renfrew or Mendocino where they do what needs to be done to make the customer happy. Holt Renfrew will fix products that need mending and their customer service is way better. Mendocino would have ordered me the coat in the larger size in a heartbeat. This store was so nice to me when I spent over $1000 here but as soon as I wanted to make an exchange or get a refund they couldn't care less. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE AT ALL!!! I will NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!!! I learnt my lesson about buying a big ticket item at a mom and pop shop. I will never make this mistake again. It's a shame because I'm sure there are great mom and pop shops where they care about their customers but this store DOES NOT CARE about anyone except their check book.

Housed in a cute Victorian small-town cottage beside the Leslieville Pumps gas station/grub joint, the store is like a teleporter to that other side of Queen Street, that I wonder if I am even in my own neighbourhood anymore whenever I step inside. I guess it's a sign of the times in the east end, as much as it is an interesting addition to the Leslieville strip. I was forwarded a meme whilst contemplating this nonsense (because apparently no one else has yet, bloody hell), and on it, a satirical list of things purported to be signs your 'hood is gentrifying, including an "inexplicable general store." Inexplicable. General. Store. I guess that best explains Good Neighbour. True to form, the place is filled with all sorts of eclectic and stylish stuff of all random categories scattered everywhere, like greeting cards, clothes and outerwear, mugs, footwear, backpacks, cosmetics, stationery. It's sort of like a Drake General Store (or maybe even an Urban Outfitters), but with more emphasis on fashion and lifestyle goods... and less on random cheeky hipster gag gift kitsch. There's a small kids section tucked in the back by the fitting room stalls, with an assortment of dresses, toys, puzzles, and humourous books. The men's stuff upstairs kind of scares me with the quantity of soaps and toiletries for the discerning well-groomed hip man. The place itself is a marriage of curated hip(ster) tastes (oh wait, they even have a table of selected Drake General Store crap for sale), and Club Monaco chic. Thankfully like a good neighbour the folks here don't stink so much of that douchey we're-too-cool-for-thou attitude that many hipster businesses are known for--they instead stink of individual cheerful Queen West-esque personality and a level of helpfulness not normally seen in a more corporate fashion boutique. Pricey? Kinda expected that. What is not expected are the sale offers that do pop up time and time again. My sister claims she bought a pair of jeans here for less than what Hudson's Bay was charging for the same brand. But I usually end up with socks, or scarves, or cards. The salespeople were extremely helpful despite the crowd. Whenever a store has a sale on, I always feel like I'm going to end up picking through the remnant pieces of clothing that no one else wants, however, today, that was not the case...the sale prices were amazing and the selection was ridiculous. The store skews towards women, but they're an exclusive carrier of terrific Le Labo bath products, which was my sole reason for visiting. I've patronized my share of high-end shops, but this place seems to subscribe to the outdated notion that stuck-up somehow equates with exclusivity. I was the only customer in the tiny shop but still felt unwelcome and neglected by the Millennial staffer (I sincerely hope she wasn't the owner). She sized me up about my knowledge of Le Labo, did nothing to assess my needs and seemed utterly bored to know that I was making my purchase as an anniversary gift. The whole experience was just so awkward. Zero engagement, zero warmth. The kicker was when she started texting while ringing up my purchase. Management may want to invest in staff training. I had never been in this shop before, but, as an avid fan of Le Labo products, wanted to drop-in and take a look. My first impression was that it is well organized. Since I was the only customer present, it was very calm (I assumed only one customer would be allowed in at a time due to the store being so small). The sole millennial blonde working there was texting on her phone as I entered and as I said hello she said "hi" in return. Her demeanour was palpably disinterested. It was clear she would really rather not be there. She was lackadaisical, generally, with a flat affect that seemed to suggest she felt she was above working in this position and would, frankly, prefer if customers would not show up so she could proceed with sitting down and doing whatever it was she was doing on her cell phone . I proceeded to tell her the exact product I was looking for. She found it and asked if it was a gift. I said it wasn't and she looked genuinely relieved to not have to gift wrap it. I then asked her about a series of products that I hadn't tried before as I was curious about their scent. She then proceeded to spray a number of these scents onto pieces of paper and then handed them to me. She didn't write down what any of them were, however, and, honestly, by the time I walked home and took them out of my bag, they all smelled the same. I had no way of knowing what was what. At a certain point I noticed someone standing in the doorway of the shop. Wondering if I was taking too long and holding up other customers I said "I'm sorry, I should hurry up here." To which she rolled her eyes and said "It's fine - it's just the cleaner". It's difficult to encapsulate the disdain with which she said this and it made me feel very uneasy. It was at this point I decided I would not be returning to this store. It was then I said I would like to take my product, pay, and be on my way - and THIS is the best part: She replies: "Fine, I can ring you up over here - for your ONE product - after ALL those testers." You know what, young lady? You have deplorable customer service. And worse than that, you are genuinely unkind. I spent $150 on a balm for myself, as a treat, because I am going through a really hard time at the moment. You made me feel small. You made me feel bad for the cleaner who you dismissed with such disdain as he stood in the cold. You made me feel bad for the business owner(s) of this establishment, who probably worked really hard to get this business up and running. I am certain this is not the kind of experience they envisioned for any of their customers. I sincerely hope you take some time to self-reflect and reconsider your behaviour moving forward. The way you conduct yourself is a disservice to the business and it is a disservice to yourself.
