What a treasure of a place! Can't say enough about the ambiance and setting. The flight of wine was good, although I picked wines that were too sweet to our liking. My mistake. Will go back and try red wines in the fall season.

We had a wonderful time wine tasting with Stacy! She was very knowledgeable and so so kind. Also loved how kid friendly this winery is! Can't wait to come back again!

Chug it, we gotta go!

This was our first stop of the day and we will definitely be back! David was so sweet, helpful, and talkative (not to mention very generous with samples)! The former schoolhouse was a hit with our group of three teachers! Is so adorable. I have seen the wine in some major retailers in metro Detroit so, to be honest, I didn't have the highest hopes for the quality. I was happily proven wrong! It was our favorite stop of the day- due to both the amazing customer service and the absolutely delicious ciders. We had so much fun we lost track of time and were late for our reservation up the road. The option to make your own 6 pack is like putting a kid in a candy store. We left with three 6 packs, 3 separate cans, two bottles of wine, and 2 prowlers of root beer. Most of this, however, would not have been purchased if David wasn't there. I dare say we have a new favorite place for ciders.

Honestly, it's a cool building with a great vibe, the service is awesome. But the wine is just rough. They have too much fake taste and were over saturated. Great outdoor area. Amazing clothes

would go back. We have not been in so long and as a bit apprehensive with all the changes on the peninsula, but we were not disappointed. The flight was great! I loved all four, I wish I would have taken a pic of the menu but will try to remember. All four were great, the 2021 risking, a good bumbles that had a fun name, the old school and one that was with Washington grapes. We also got the picnic snack box which was so great and. It crazy overpriced. Such a great experience!

This was my favorite winery of our stops up the peninsula. I think it's super cute that it's located at an old school house & they have a lot of cute touches that highlight that too including some funny wine names. We came during covid but my parents have been before & their charcuterie board was served on a clipboard- so cool! We did a tasting during our visit. The tasting includes 4 samples in a very cool looking flight carrier. You can choose whatever wines or cider you want. Our server also let us try smaller samples before committing to getting it as a part of our flight. I enjoyed my wines here- my favorite was the cab franc merlot. We got a bottle - to note, you cannot drink the bottles at most wineries but you can get a glass of wine or cider to enjoy after the tasting. If I'm back in the area this is one place I will definitely come back to!

Oh BOY! Do I want to rave about this place! Peninsula Cellars was by FAR my favorite vineyard and tasting room that my boyfriend and I visited while we were in TC. The tasting room itself is set in an old schoolhouse and had so much character. The centralized bar area allows for multiple people to be served at each time and the individual that helped us (I don't remember his name) was SO knowledgeable about their choices. When you look at their menu, don't get overwhelmed! There are so many different wines to choose from so be sure to ask what your servers favorites are! We were able to get a really great description about the history and taste of each of the wines offered and were able to make educated choices because of this. Another plus here is that along with wine, they also offer cider samples! We loved the Cherry Jalapeño cider, it was so tasty. When I go to TC next, this will definitely be the first winery that I go back to! Pro-Tip: Make a reservation! We were extremely lucky that when we walked in they just happened to have a table available, but to ensure you get to try their wines, just give them a call beforehand!

School vibes everywhere. Clever names for the wines! Too many to choose from. If you had the wine pass, you could save 10% off wine flights so took advantage of that deal. You order inside and then enjoy outside. Our server was very nice and he let us try samples before choosing flight tastings. My flight had the lemberger, Pinot noir, merlot and the apple cinnamon cider. Sampled the cab franc merlot. Fun wines to try and all not bad! The cab franc merlot was my favorite blend and even bought a bottle of it! The apple cinnamon cider was tasty (sampled the cherry habenero which was interesting, not too spicy) and ended up purchasing a glass of apple cinn cider which came in a cool mason jar. Would highly recommend and would definitely come back!!

Cute & unusual place. It's in an old school house & has school-themed decor. Flights are 4 tastings for $15, can mix wine & cider. We had 2 flights and all of them were good. The cherry habanero cider was really interesting & the cinnamon swirl cider was delicious. The views aren't as good here as other places, but it's still worth a stop. Staff is nice, selection is tasty, it wasn't busy when we went (3ish on a Sunday), indoor and outdoor seating.

This is a "must stop" winery. The old school house is so unique and the wine is great. The Dry Riesling is the best.

Old Mission Peninsula is the much smaller one, and it's plenty big enough. Bowers Harbor Vineyards offered exactly what we were looking for. Great wines, very friendly staff, and a beautiful outdoor space to enjoy it. They have snacks available that are kind of pitiful-- convenience store packages of hummus, pretzels, etc-- but you're not going for that. And they do the job to accompany the wine tasting. So whatever. They were very accomodating with letting us mix red and whites on a shared flight. We ended up buying a couple of bottles of a wonderful, dry and minerally chardonnay. Very relaxed and not at all intimidating for people like us who are not usually doing the wine thing. There were families with dogs and kids, and everyone seemed pretty chill. But of course we hightailed it out of there when the first bachelorette party arrived. I don't know why Traverse City became a hotbed of bachelorette parties, but it has, and you'll have to suffer through that wherever you go.
