Flowers on patio

Amazing drinks and staff beautiful atmosphere We had the best time and will definitely be back!! It would be beautiful in the fall

Hand picked flowers for a phenomenal price + the flight featuring wine, sangria and cider

This was one of my favorite vineyards that I have been to in north west Michigan. The service this evening was phenomenal. Sarah was so friendly and lovely. The other two employees working tonight were also very sweet. The aesthetics and vibe of the tasting room and outside were amazing, got great pictures!! I'll be coming back next summer!! :)) My favorites were: Tango Roja Cinnamon Cider Pop Quiz Kroupa Orchards Apple Wine

Peninsula Cellars is a beautiful winery tucked into an old school house. They have a huge selection of wines and even some ciders. My husband and I really enjoyed our flights and each picked a wine to take home. The service is fast and the ladies behind the bar were very friendly!

good cherry wine The people are so nice It's in an old schoolhouse Ambiance is nice - they have a patio Would come back

Wine flight.... Literally only $18! Highly recommended and such wide variety of wines to choose from! Their glasses are also very affordable

10/10 recommend! Staff was extremely sweet and helpful. Wine was amazing. Came on a gloomy day and got a flight and then went to visit another winery and ended up coming back to get bottle and stayed for another glass of wine. They even gave us a complementary glass of their seasonal slushy which was AMAZING! Highly recommended stopping here, if you like sweet wines and ciders this is the place for you! But they also have great reds and Chardonnay's too!

My favorite spot on old mission and I always try and make a stop, I love that they have a smaller tasting room to feel more intimate. There is a wide variety of wines as well as ciders and frose, all which can be included in the tasting. The staff is super kind and we were able to sit down and take our time to enjoy. The pours were veryyyy generous and we found some lovely options we purchased to take home.

Sarah and the rest of the staff were incredibly warm and helpful. The wine and cider were phenomenal, and the complimentary snacks & water bottles were a small, but pleasant surprise. We had a wonderful time gazing at the beautiful landscape while enjoying generous pours. Cannot recommend enough, we will definitely be back!

What a treasure of a place! Can't say enough about the ambiance and setting. The flight of wine was good, although I picked wines that were too sweet to our liking. My mistake. Will go back and try red wines in the fall season.

Great place to enjoy a "Study Break Flight" and let the kids enjoy recess! The team here is always great and generous!

Chug it, we gotta go!

This was our first stop of the day and we will definitely be back! David was so sweet, helpful, and talkative (not to mention very generous with samples)! The former schoolhouse was a hit with our group of three teachers! Is so adorable. I have seen the wine in some major retailers in metro Detroit so, to be honest, I didn't have the highest hopes for the quality. I was happily proven wrong! It was our favorite stop of the day- due to both the amazing customer service and the absolutely delicious ciders. We had so much fun we lost track of time and were late for our reservation up the road. The option to make your own 6 pack is like putting a kid in a candy store. We left with three 6 packs, 3 separate cans, two bottles of wine, and 2 prowlers of root beer. Most of this, however, would not have been purchased if David wasn't there. I dare say we have a new favorite place for ciders.

We had a wonderful time wine tasting with Stacy! She was very knowledgeable and so so kind. Also loved how kid friendly this winery is! Can't wait to come back again!

Honestly, it's a cool building with a great vibe, the service is awesome. But the wine is just rough. They have too much fake taste and were over saturated. Great outdoor area. Amazing clothes

Wine flight!

This was my favorite winery of our stops up the peninsula. I think it's super cute that it's located at an old school house & they have a lot of cute touches that highlight that too including some funny wine names. We came during covid but my parents have been before & their charcuterie board was served on a clipboard- so cool! We did a tasting during our visit. The tasting includes 4 samples in a very cool looking flight carrier. You can choose whatever wines or cider you want. Our server also let us try smaller samples before committing to getting it as a part of our flight. I enjoyed my wines here- my favorite was the cab franc merlot. We got a bottle - to note, you cannot drink the bottles at most wineries but you can get a glass of wine or cider to enjoy after the tasting. If I'm back in the area this is one place I will definitely come back to!

A small little school where they truly have studied the art of making wine. Wonderful service and some of my favorite wine on the peninsula.

For starters, the drive alone is worth the visit- stunning views all around on the old mission peninsula north of traverse city. Upon pulling up, we could see they were quite busy but we're able to take our two kiddos, purchase some glasses of wine and sit in the shade on the grassy patio overlooking the vineyards. They have a bar and snack area on the lawn along with cornhole. It was a perfect spot for us to leisurely pass the hour with the kids and enjoy a fabulous glass of gerwitzemeiner. I'm still thinking about the glass of wine paired with Parmesan crisps- heaven. We don't drink much for health reasons but this glass was definitely worth cashing in my "monthly drink chip". Highly recommend a visit here! PS: try their lovely lavender soap and lotions from the secret garden shop on site.

Even though we pulled up just 15 minutes before they closed, the staff was incredibly kind and said we could come in for one quick glass. The atmosphere is nothing short of breathtaking. The views are stunning, especially at this time of year when the autumn colors are changing, and their outdoor patio offers a gorgeous vantage point overlooking the entire vineyard. To top it off, our server even offered to take some pictures for our group. They also offer food options on the menu that are clearly marked as gluten-free, and they feature a wide selection of wines ranging from dry to sweet. While our server wasn't entirely familiar with whether the wines were officially certified gluten-free, she assumed they were. I chose a glass of the Riesling, and it was really good. Despite arriving right as they were wrapping up for the day, the welcoming staff, stunning seasonal views, and delicious wine made this a stop we won't forget.

The staff was very welcoming and let us sample a few wines before choosing what glass to get, and a fun perk is that you even get to keep your wine glass. They also offer food with gluten-free options clearly marked on the menu, which is always a great touch. The only hiccup during our visit was with the staff's knowledge regarding dietary restrictions. When we asked, the person helping us with the wine didn't think any of their wines were gluten-free. However, after checking their website, I found out that all of their wines are actually gluten-free and safe for celiac disease. The staff definitely should be more knowledgeable about this, especially since it is an important detail for guests with allergies or celiac. Despite that bit of confusion, I tried a couple of options and ultimately decided on a glass of the Bonobo sparkling wine, which was really good. We ended up taking our drinks outside to sit on the patio, where we relaxed and enjoyed some wonderful live music. It made for a fantastic, relaxing stop on the trip once the allergy details were sorted out!

Those days are long gone but a glass of "Red" every now and then is fun. Being invited to our dear friend's wedding this weekend up in Traverse City, Michigan and having it take place at this absolutely beautiful vineyard brought back a flood of memories that were (still) very nice. Black Star Farms Old Mission is this huge Farm / Vineyard with tons of acreage set beautifully in the mountains of northwest Michigan. It was stunning! This vineyard could hold its own against Napa or Sonoma or Paso Robles or Santa Ynez; it's just that good.
