Nice grassy area, part of disc golf course.
Julie A.

This park is far more than a Bark Park. I have many fond memories of coming here as a child long before the existence of bark parks. Inside the park, there is a bark park for dogs, a disc golf course, playground areas for children, shaded picnic tables and more. There are nature walking paths, some of which leading to several beautiful segmented areas with flowers to enjoy. While this park is showing its age on some of the structures inside- the reasons we love parks are all there, and even more. I've posted some pics!

Hands down the best bark park in the CSRA. We live in the neighborhood adjacent to this park and are so pleased with this feature. Our dog has the time of this life with all his friends here! It's very clean with plenty of shade. Miles of trails outside of the bark park for walks and runs. Water feature for filling up bowls and pools. Love the community feel.

An agility tire... that not every dog wants to try!

Searched for local dog parks and luckily found this one. Not like most dog parks I've been to since it's covered in bark (the name has two meanings it seems!) Many trees, which creates plenty of shade so no dogs or parents get overheated. An area with bowls and a water spout for dogs to stay hydrated. Fun agility activities to try with your dog. There are also two sections, so smaller dogs can romp around as well on their own. Plenty of parking right next to the dog park, or just a little farther at the large parking lot. Plenty of benches too! My dog and I enjoyed this park a lot and will be back quite a bit!

Nice shaded dog park. I've seen better in other cities but like this one better than Evans. Just seems folks keep in cleaner. Evans was poopy-er. Plenty of trees, water, bags. And also park is part of big city park where you can just walk the dog on leash too. I take my pup here often. I see some dogs I'd prefer not to be there, meaning have some aggressive tendencies. But never had really issue and 95% of the time it's awesome. I'm leery of dog parks in general and an over protective pup parent. It's important to socialize your pets so overall I like this place.

This place has been on my list to check out for so long! It's quite a haul from where we live, but well worth the drive. I can see why so many people love bringing their pups here. The shade is one of the best qualities. Fort Gordon and the dog park in Evans have barely any shade which makes it near impossible to bring the dogs out to run around. They had a little baby pool for the dogs to use, which was awesome. This was our first time bringing our new pup here and it won't be the last time. I want to move over to the large dog side for her to try the ramps and little tire jumps. We will be back!

Best dog park in the area. I've found the dogs to be less aggressive than at the Evans dog park. It is large, completely shaded and has lots of benches and some agility equipment. There is water for the dogs, sometimes a kiddie pool, and a separate small dog area. My only wish is that it were grassy instead of the dirt/ wood chip covering it has now.

I'd recommend bringing a towel in case your dog learns to dig from a new friend or take a dip in the kiddie pool.

Dog Park At Evans Town Center Park - Enjoying the new benches

I'm writing this review on behalf of my Husky, Mischa. Being a social animal that needs a lot of…read moreroom to play and jump, her giant backyard just wasn't cutting it for her anymore. Since she's only a puppy, we wanted to wait until she stopped running over the smaller dogs and people alike before taking her to a public place where she'd be free to roam and sniff other dogs. The penned in dog area is a great place for a well behaved dog to stretch his/her legs out and chase other dogs. If you've got a smaller pet under 25 lbs. a separate area is available in case the bigger dogs get a little rowdy and while we were there, we saw many pet parents take refuge from the rambunctious packs of Rottweilers, Staffordshire Terriers and Retrievers. There's a little grass but mainly a lot of sand for the dogs to run and roll around in which is ideal for digging but that habit is definitely frowned upon. For pet parents, there's a bench area so you can watch your dog and take a breather and plenty of other dog owners so dog training hints can get swapped and play dates made. The con of such a large open space is when a dog falls in love with another dog and inappropriate humping takes place. I had to take matters into my own hands when trying to get my girl through the first set of gates when a persistent pursuer wouldn't get off her back-literally. The owner was too busy paying attention to the other dogs and had no clue what was going on. So if your dog is not altered, pay close attention otherwise you might be an unintentional grandparent to an unexpected litter. 19/2014

There's a museum, house and grounds tour, natural trails, big fields for kids to run around in, and beautiful gardens to enjoy. The house tour was great and our guide was extremely knowledge. They did a fantastic job of striking a good line between not white washing history but also not painting all historical figures as purely evil people - that's a hard balance to achieve but they did it. The house is really a spectacular architectural achievement and you should absolutely do a tour if you come here. The library alone is worth the entry fee. There's also several original outbuildings which are even more unique since many of those are not preserved on other plantations. The nature trails and grounds are also great to just walk around in. Our kid had a great time running around, and we saw several birds of prey and even an owl!

A visitor center was open, though it was surrounded by what the park ranger called "garden spiders", which are not aggressive towards humans and whose bite, if provoked, is painful but not deadly. I've seen Australia-level spiders and lived to tell the tale, but these were definitely no joke; arachnophobes beware. The site includes a mansion, a cactus garden for some reason, and a variety of other buildings. Notably, the slave quarters housed extensive exhibitions. I'm not sure if this park was always so given the way history is treated in some parts of the south, but at least now it has a thorough historical take. I did not have time for the tour, but one can reasonably hope that whatever tour guide you get it will be worthwhile.

My pack loves this park! There are plenty of balls and toys laying around to play with, two doggie pools, a water hose, a sandbox, benches, some agility course equipment, buckets and a hydrant for water, and a gazebo for owners to sit under. There are plenty of shaded areas for dogs to run around in as well. It also gives me peace of mind knowing that all dogs must be fully vaccinated to have access to the park. The park is secure with a passcode for that purpose. We enjoy our visits!

I actually brought both of my humans and they made some friends while I cooled off in the pool. I love seeing them off leash without a care in the world. There's a bathing suite optional pool but please keep your humans out. I Had a chance to chase a labradoodle, he was quite the stud and we definitely hit it off. Not gonna lie I'm hoping to run into him more often. There's also a trail area with a nice shaded area to relax but my human kept wanting to play throw so I obliged and chased after the ball for him. The park does require a membership for your human. All human owners must be current on required shots and spayed/neutered. The Barking Lot is open during normal park hours.* There are no day passes and the cost is $40 per year. This does not include the cost to get into the park ($45 per year or $5 per visit) The barking lot is closed on Tuesdays from 9-11 for maintenance. Some things I suggest you bring: -Towel or rag to wipe off after the pool - If you have wipes, bring them to clean drool off your face. Canines are known for wet kisses and greet each other this way. - There is plenty of water but if you must drink filtered bring your own - poop bags ... There are some at the park but my human has had to improvise because they ran out. He can be so creative sometimes. Remember to make sure you don't eat right before coming to play. Bloats no joke. *Park Hours Monday-Sunday November 1- February 28/29, 7:00 A.M. - 5:30 P.M. March 1 - October 31, 7:00 A.M. - 8:30 P.M.
