This is a great place to have a date with your girlfriend. They have two 18 hole courses and I went during the day time on a Friday because I didn't want to go when it was busy so I don't know what it's like at night. The decorations looked great and I think it would of been better if they had more obstacles to make it a bit more challenging. The main obstacles were rocks and bumps on the terrain so that's why I gave it 4 stars. It's $9 for adults and after you buy 5 rounds you get one for free. Came here for my friend's son's birthday party. It was cool...played one of the 18 hole courses, but we could have played the other one if we wanted. The pizza that they made here was actually really good...that was unexpected. The host of the place seemed to have alot of communication with the parents of the birthday day, making sure their day went well. That was pretty cool. read more

We were ready to make the haul (from La Costa) to Clairmont Boomers for mini golf and then found this on Google. It was 1pm on a Saturday and wasn't overwhelming busy; we didn't want to stand in line and be hurried by the people behind us. It was perfectly entertaining for our family and we will going back. I suppose I could give four stars, but I can't think of any lapses in service or fun. We'd heard about other miniature golf places being overpriced and run down so when the whole family had a public holiday available we took the kids here. Had a great time. Service was friendly and prompt. Perhaps it was because it wasn't a weekend, but the place wasn't crowded so we were able to enjoy a leisurely round of miniature golf with the kids. What might have made it even better? After a round of miniature golf in the sun the kids were hungry and thirsty. Upon completion we returned our clubs and purchased cold drinks from the cooler for the ride home. If this place gets enough business I would imagine that they could enhance revenues by placing a cabana in the playing areas to sell food, snacks, and cold drinks. The site is tucked away out of view. If you're headed south on Jimmy Durante Blvd. from Via de la Valle, the entrance is on the east side of the street immediately past the entrance for the Hilton. I drive by Pelly's everyday on the freeway going home from work in Encinitas and it has only looked like it would be a fun and interesting mini golf course. So the other day we made the trek up to Del Mar to check it out . It was totally worth it. This is a nice mini golf place. There were only a few other people there. We never had to wait at any of the holes. Both courses are set up great and are fun. I think that the sea life coarse is a little more challenging then the surfing one. This is the cleanest, most well-maintained mini-golf I have seen. The whales blow spouts while you golf. You can read facts about sea life. Pelly's is always a good game when it comes to mini-golf. We visit San Diego about 1-2 times a year and always stop here to play a round or two of mini-golf. This year it looked as though they made an investment into some new carpeting for some of the holes, which is great. This is one of the more expensive courses that we play in the area. read more

Fun place for all ages. Made a trip with my boyfriend and another couple. We played both of the two 18 hold obstacles. The mini golf itself is ocean themed and it is very cute and creative. After all these years of being open they still do a great job of keeping the place up. We went later at night and no one was around which is nice. No lines. The staff is also very friendly. Came here for the first time tonight. My 11 year old son and I were pretty excited to come play. My excitement was kinda cut short once we got inside to pay and had to deal with the rude guy working there. He seemed to hate his job. He wasn't friendly at all, seemed annoyed to have to ring up two people for mini golf, and he had this look on his face as if he had eaten shit for breakfast or something. We had a good time outside playing so I'm thankful for that. When we were finished, I was already dreading that we had to go back inside to return the golf clubs. My son was trying to give them back to the guy and the guy was rude once again and annoyingly says "just stick them right up there!". My son was trying to hand the clubs to him! It wasn't like he was busy doing something else. He was just standing there! Dude if you hate your job and hate dealing with customers, you should find another job. Don't ruin other people's good time because you're having a bad day. I will come back for sure but if he's there, we will leave and have to come back another time. When the jerk isn't there. The best place to take your girl on a mini golf date. It's a little more expensive than the other places (boomers, Tiki) but you totally get what you pay for. $20 for 2 people. They play top 40/classic rock throughout the course. The course Is in much better shape than other courses. Absolutely best of all, at 7pm on a Saturday there ISN'T A SINGLE KID HERE. Super mini golf course! Very rare to find a place like this anymore. It is so well maintained and clean with a lot of 'atmosphere.' There are tables to eat at, a snack bar and music playing throughout. The courses are very well 'themed' and offer challenging holes, but even the little golfer will have a good time. Cheap date place that's consistently fun!!! I've brought many friends here in the past when we only have an hour or two to spare. This place is clean and the courses are well maintained. Staff has always been extremely friendly! In terms of mini golf difficulty I would scale it at a 5 out of 10. In a weird spot but easy to get to and ample free parking. Two fun courses with each hole having a clever name. Lots of potential on the holes to do more with their names though! They gave me and my hub and the same size putter even though he is a foot taller than me so that was kind of awkward. But the kids had fun and the music playing on the course was fun. The place was super clean and the snack bar looked great though it wasn't open when we were there. The guys in the pro shop were really friendly and the clubhouse was small but simple and clean, and they had an ice cream cooler stocked for after we finished . The proprietor gave us a stamp card, too, which gets you a free round after only five purchased. We're only visiting but tend to each year so we'll be back here for sure. read more

I had a fun time here, you probably will too. This 5-star rating is a bit out of control here though, especially if you drive up from anywhere central city. I was expecting active volcanoes and windmills with ninja archers. If the place was rated 1-star, I might've given them 3, but hear me now, if you can find a shaved bit of grass on a hill and you throw your car keys down, you will have created an obstacle much on par with what they offer. Couple bricks,some fake sea life, some fake foam rocks, one that did spew some water every once and a while, and a big blue wave were about all that you got-- there was very little spectacle involved in the game and very few interactions with the scenery. For that maybe five bucks if they donated the fifth to some endangered dolphin species, otherwise at $10 per person it's not a good value. I really did have fun though, but I could have been in the parking lot with a putter and had fun, that's how I roll. I've read that this is the best SD has to offer, I might just have to get into the mini-golf racket. Again, maybe not so bad as a one star, it's not like I found poop anywhere, but the course design lacked imagination, and I just can't let you go there thinking it is some shrine of dimpled-ball-karma. read more

It's small and simple but it's a GORGEOUS place to mini-golf! I thought it was just right for my kids (ages 3 and 7). Fun themes and educational. There were actual fish and plants in the water (instead of dyed blue-green water with plastic lily pads that other places have).
