I have used DSW at my home 2ish years ago w/ a great experience (Dave F) Not this time w/Theon…read more(manager). He met with my brother & I at my parents' house. He seemed to understand what we needed for them, even offered a veterans AND Sr. discount he also said, come back if we got a better quote, we want to work with you. (after reaching out to even get the quote) Theon said the original quote did not include the motor. (our #1 request) After multiple communications to discuss, (he was unavailable) he told us to go with the other quote, so we did. It seemed to me that he made a mistake on the original quote, which would have been fine. However, his approach was dismissive & he acted like we never wanted the motor etc. Communication with Theon was not impressive. Certainly, lost trust in the company.

A massive waste of time. We called and made an appointment with a salesman. On the phone we told…read morehim we were looking for European style doors or something a little more modern styled. He said they sold Marvin doors and that I could look on their site to see if they had the sort of style we were looking for. On the Marvin site they did in fact have the kind of style we were looking for. We came in for our in-person appointment, the salesman showed us French doors, not really what we were interested in so I showed him the Marvin site. He said "we sell Marvin doors but not TruStile." Apparently TruStile was bought by Marvin but for whatever reason Affordable Windows and Doors doesn't sell particular lines in a brand they carry? He didn't offer up any alternatives in a similar style from perhaps another door company and made no attempts to actually help us find something in the style we were looking for. He basically showed us one French door, told us we don't sell doors like the ones on the site he told us to go look on and that was it. Guess I'll order from the door company directly.

Also, after only 2 months in, the blinds, very easily started falling off (with just being brushed against), but they're usually easy to put back on, but not when it happens continuously. I didn't bother calling about slats falling off bc i knew I didn't buy the best quality & it happens with the verticals. I only called after I couldn't open a set. Now have 3 sets I can't open. They told me I'd have to remove the mechanism & take it in. I said there was no possibility of my doing that. He said the other option was to pay over 85.00, & his words "just to have them come out to look at the problem". (I only remember over $85, but less than $90). He knew they weren't old bc he looked up the account. I do want to mention that I did hire an outside person, that did this work, to install them. It was much less than their installation cost. I'm not sure if the outcome would've been different, but wanted to mention it. I'm also not sure if that should even be an issue. Have had verticals for many years purchased elsewhere & never had this problem
