Hungry after a tower buzzers game so the family and I tried Pelicana for the first time. So happy we did! The food was incredible and the owner was fantastic! Most definitely coming back!
Was on a hunt for the best Korean chicken as we miss the Korean place in San Diego whose chicken was really yummy, not too sweet sauce hence wanted to try Pelicana. Quite a cool place to eat and enjoy Korean chicken indeed. One isn't limited with the choices of flavors of their sauces hence we had fun choosing. Their chicken was truly yummy and to crave for more. Nicely seasoned and of course its crispness is up to par. The sauce didn't make the chicken soggy instead it added that extra umph to the taste. The place was quiet and very clean and organized. Service was great too as they often came to check on us- water was refilled regularly. We also enjoyed their complimentary cabbage salad and when we asked for more- they gave us a lot more than expected. They truly know how to take care of their customers well
If you're craving crispy and I mean crispy chicken/wings you need to check this place out. The textural overload you get as you bite into these little things gives you an instant dopamine hit. Whether you elect to have the pieces sauced or on the side you will not be disappointed. Each order is made fresh so prepare to let those little guys cool down or you'll end up with a scorched tongue/mouth or both! We elected to get the full 18 wings that are half sauced and half naked with the sauce in the side. You get a free side of cabbage salad that's free refills. Overall staff is very attentive and quick to get your order and they're very fast with clean up this keeping the place super clean. Give them a go!
Good service albeit slow coming on a weekday (but I think it's because they were busy with takeout orders). I had no idea they had a location in Chino until recently so I had to stop by. The chicken was perfectly crispy and seasoned. I wish I had more pickled radish to go with it but I'm sure I could've asked/ordered for more. Lots of screens to watch sports and the like. Music is very loud.
What can I say? The crispy double breaded chicken here was absolutely, positively, some of the most crispy are delicious chicken I've had. I got the spicy mayo dipping sauce, which was OK. The real trick is to eat the chicken with the little radish cubes that they give you. It takes the flavor to the next level. The place was clean when I arrived and the service was good. I ended up buying a box of approximately eight pieces and I'm not gonna lie - I ate seven of them because I couldn't stop. Definitely coming back here. It was phenomenal.
Delicious fried chicken and amazing crispness and flavors pricing is a lot better at this location compared to irvine
The flavor of the chicken is amazing!! I went in to try the food as I am so into KOREAN rom-coms and dramas!! I see the amazing food so I decided to try my local Korean cuisine and live for it now!! The service here was good. The restaurant was very nice and friendly. I went early and practically ordered everything!! But the chicken and onions rings was 5 star!! I could drink by itself the Signature Sauce!! They have a good selection of beer and Soju
Great service. Mostly solid dishes. Chill vibe. If you run cold I do recommend having a jacket. Service: the waitress was patient and informative. She made it a great first time experience. Food: the cook on everything was perfect. The exact textures I was looking for. Flavor was solid, I think there's just some things not to my personal taste. Original Fried banban Chicken with half without sauce half with Sauce - perfectly cooked! So succulent and a nice crisp. There was a nuttiness like cinnamon or nutmeg to n both that kinda threw me but I'd still recommend trying. Stir Fried Chicken Gizzard - a must try!! My favorite dish of the evening. Stir-Fried Sausage - underwhelming. A generic sausage - nothing stand out. I would recommend ordering the chicken gizzards over this one. Ddukbokki with Cheese - great size, spicy but not too spicy (and I consider myself a whimp) Overall I'd be down to go again if someone suggests it, but would really only go back for the gizzards. Have I mentioned how much I love them
I came here on a Saturday night for a pick up order. The location is where my beloved Jollibee was . Anywho , I ordered the spicy wings which came with pickled radish. Darn good wings. And boy they were spicy but not where it's over bearing. Very tasty too. I will be back to try their other items. They do have a nice cozy dinning area with plenty of seating .
I had some pelicana chicken delivered last night and was not disappointed! This was my first time trying them and will definitely be van I ordered the crispy chicken wings (sauce on the side), steamed rice, and peli cheese balls! On the side I asked for Signature sauce and hot & spicy sauce. The chicken was nice and crispy, even after delivery! I'm about a 20ish minute ride away from Pelicana, so i was pleasantly surprised at how crispy the wings still were! Both sauces were good, but i felt like the signature was a little too sweet for my taste. I ended up mixing both sauces together and using them that way! I do like that you can order the sauces in little packets and try a variety. I definitely will try a couple different sauces best time. I wasn't quite sure what to expect with the peli cheese balls! They were interesting. The texture was nice and chewy and the cheese was tasty. It has some sweetness on its coating that I wasn't expecting, but I enjoyed them. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some quality crispy chicken. They also had a nice selection of other items besides chicken, so will have to check that out soon too!
Chicken wings are very good crunchy and man it definitely has a spicy kick to it. I always order extra spicy for everything so the fact it kicked me, I'm impressed.
The name fooled me; Pelicana Chicken is a Korean style fried chicken, wings, and beer place. When a friend told me what it was, I was excited to try it. We went during the week in the evening. The decor was cool, and the interior was very clean and organized. We ordered the Corn Cheese, 9 Piece Chicken Wings, and of course some Cass Korean Beer. They also included free Cabbage Salad. It all reminded me of Korea. The corn was fantastic, and sauce on the chicken was very good. I also enjoyed the included Cabbage Salad. Regarding the service, it was excellent. The staff members checked on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed.
I love pelicana! This location has lots of parking but it's hard to find during weekends. We always end up here when coming back from Palm Springs!! I love the chicken here since you get sauce on the side & their sauces are top tier! I love the honey soy & smoked sauces! The chicken is so fresh and crispy! It stays crispy when you reheat it the next day too! The cheese fries here are delicious. The peli balls are ok - I wouldn't order again. The chicken came out so fast & they gave us gloves! I loved that there's a mini trashcan on the table for you to put bones in! There's lots of seating - even some seating outside! The interior is clean and new!
pelilcanaaaa- such a nostalgic thing for my partner!! Food: -KCHICKEN: the flavoring was delicious, crisp was CRISP-ing and it was a great get : ) I don't thinkI could finish it all but knew I could airfry it up at home again for a part 2! Service: -Prompt, friendly and helpful, they were really lovely Ambience: -it had lots of spaces to sit and still felt intimate with a group of 7 of us! OVERRALL: Pelicana for some chimek- YES! read more
order: half crispy sweet soy half crispy cheese 5 piece cheese ball highlights: - clean interior with lots of TV's playing the soccer game - good food, came out fast and it was incredibly fresh - the cheese balls were so yummy and soft - the sweet soy chicken was great with lots of sauce, it sticks to the chicken well - they also give a complimentary salad cons: - one of the staff was a bit short tempered, but still tended to us - the cheese flavor was very mild on the chicken and I couldn't really taste it - the cheese balls also had no seasoning on them overall: I would continue going again, it's just you have to order the saucy options to get the best experience IMO read more

Been to a couple Pelicanas before this but this opened up near the crib, this is where the Nguyen's Kitchen was btw. Came here pretty close to them closing, maybe 45 min before (my fault). Despite that, the staff was super friendly and attentive. Mayo and chopped lettuce came to the table shortly after we sat. We ordered the 18 pc Soy Honey + Original Chicken wings with the Kimchi Fried rice on the hot plate. The food came out fast and we were able to dig in, the servers kept telling us to take our time while cleaning around our table. Both flavors are pretty solid with ranch as well, I would give that a try if you want a bit more flavor on the original. The space looks great, clean interior, lots of seating when it gets busy, and outdoor seating at the patio available since this plaza does get a bit busy. Overall 8.4/10 - good wings for a decent price, and friendly staff. read more

This chain has been around since 1982 and still thrieving. Everyone has different taste for like for fried chicken but I personally like Pelicana chicken better than other chains from Korea. Ambiance of this location was on point. I loved the wall art and layout of the restaurant. We went on a Sunday night and they were pretty busy with both take out and dinining in customers. I was happy to see mix of asian crowd and non-asian crowd (which means korean chicken is loved by every race). I love when chicken places have happy hour and this place has good happy hour and drink specials for Hallasan (buy 2 get 1 free). We ordered 18 piece original wings along with oninon rings and fries to start and pitcher of Stella and bottle of Soju to drink with side sauce of hot spicy. The owner and the worker is super friendly and kept asking us if we needed anything else. Owner actually recognized my aunt since she had been there couple times for togo. I love it when even though its take out they remember you it makes you welcomed. We wanted to try their chicken gizzard and had to order little more fried food so ordered sweet potato fries. Overall experience was great and I will definitely return. And for those who is new to korean chicken this is the spot you must check out. You can get variety of items here and their non-chicken menu tastes pretty amazing. Next time I visit I am definitely going to try their cheese ball and other korean pub dishes. read more

When I first visited the restaurant after it opened, I couldn't decide what to order so I left. It was also super packed that night. On my second visit, the restaurant was bit empty. Menu is simple to read but complicated to decide. I was still undecided so I asked the cashier which sauce flavor he would recommend.... Ambiance is nice and friendly staff. I ordered half and half - Crispy plain and signature flavor. It came with boxed daikon (it was ok) and Fries. We like the plain fried chicken but not the Signature flavor. read more

Big space with plenty of seating inside and outside. I ordered for takeout and was told I would get a text when the food was ready. Chicken was flavorful and super crispy. Ddukbokki was tasty and had a nice kick. The food took a little while, maybe 30 minutes. They never texted me so I had to check on it myself and it was already ready. Other than that, good spot when you're craving korean fried chicken. read more

We went on a Friday night. When we first seated, they were not busy, only have maybe 3-4 other tables that they were all eating already. We ordered: - Ban ban whole chicken half and half. Half with cheese and half with honey soy sauce on the side. - Oden soup (personal opinion, it was way too peppery and some of the Odens were still hard and not done cooking) - French fries At first, fries came super fast.. then unsure what's the reason, it took us over 30 mins to receive the rest of our food. One of the servers then told us they were understaff... The place is clean and comfy. Several big TVs to watch different channels. read more

I'm sorry but this place was way over hyped :( the wings are good , but everything else wasn't . A lot of mayonnaise on cabbage for a side salad was not good . Fried rice also was not good , dumplings & chicken sandwich were mid . Won't be back . ( complicated menu ) read more

We tried wings and crispy chicken with honey soy, hot n spicy, signature sauces all one the sweet side. The chicken was good but the sauces were just on the sweeter side . Restaurant is nice and calm. Good location. Service was not great. We dined in and a table who arrived after us got approached before us and delivered drinks before we were acknowledged. Felt like we were an inconvenience for ordered extra condiments. The cheese balls were good again had a sweet taste to them. Dumplings were good, good little kick to them. If you love a sweet menu this is your place. If not, you might want to pass. read more

Third Time's a Charm! We decided to give Pelicana Chicken in Chino another chance last night, and it was perfect! The chicken was fried to perfection, with an even coating of their signature sauce. Family also enjoyed the soy wings, which were both flavorful and crispy. The service was excellent--friendly and helpful when we placed our takeout order over the phone. So glad we gave it another shot! read more

This is a pretty popular fried chicken chain in Korea. I was surprised to see it in the States. They have various flavors for the fried chicken such as soy, honey soy, garlic, smoky chili, and powdered cheese flavor. I chose to get the boneless whole chicken ($34) in garlic sauce, a cup of gangjung ($8), boneless chicken feet ($30), cheese buldak ($25), and chicken sandwich with fries in white garlic sauce ($13) for my family and I. Since they recently opened, they had a special of free cheeseballs with a $30+ purchase. The chicken was moist and the extra crispy breading was not soggy when I got home. The garlic sauce was not too saucy or thick. The breading was crispy and the sauce clung to the chicken well. I also got the boneless chicken feet (dakbal) which is hard to find in Korean restaurants in the states. Loads of sliced onions, chili, and cabbage in a thick and spicy sauce. It had a good amount of heat, I have a good heat tolerance so it might be too much for my parents. I didn't ask if they can adjust the heat level to the chicken feet. The cheese buldak had plenty of melted mozzarella cheese, sliced chili, onions with chunks of chicken. It had a good heat to it. The chicken sandwich was a large portion with sliced cabbage in a white garlic sauce. My brother chose it and said that the dressing was a sweet mayo sauce and did not taste the garlic in it. The fries were good and crispy. I got the small cup of gangjung which is boneless chicken in an sweet and kinda spicy sauce with small pieces of fried tteok (rice cakes). I do like their cheese balls, it's very chewy with melted mozzaralla cheese. It's slightly sweet from the chewy dough they use. I do wish they had sotteok sotteok or tteokkochi with fried chicken. I got it to go and the saucy items were well protected. The place is clean and a good amount of seating. The staff is nice, the wait time was not long. read more

We stumbled upon this place because we were supposed to go somewhere else for lunch but the line was too long. I'm surprised I didn't try this place earlier. Nice and pretty hip ambiance with great selection of food and drinks. Even when you want to have a bite and hang out, they offer all those options. The chicken sandwich is bomb, it has a nice balance with the bun, fried chicken and cole slaw. The cup bop came in a good size too with rice and slaw. Service is attentive and nice. Definitely will come back to try their other menu items! read more

i've ordered togo from this location plenty of times. i like how they send you text messages when your food is ready for pickup. i always get their ban ban chicken with honey soy. their regular chicken has a lot of flavor and it still so crispy even as to go! the honey soy is my favorite sauce. it's the perfect blend of sweet and salty. i wish they gave more radish on the side though. pretty good portions! inside has plenty of seating, i'll have to try eating here in person one day read more
