We were expecting, on Easter Sunday night , to find nothing but fast food places open. We were pleasantly surprised to find this place open and even more pleasantly surprised by the food. Literally the best Mexican restaurant within a reasonable distance from LMU. They have a lot to offer on their menu that can suit even the pickiest of eaters. Our favorite items offered are any of their combo plates as well as any of their burritos. Their fajitas are also on point as well and they give you a nicely sized portion with it. If you enjoy spicy salsa, ask for either their green or hot salsa; they both are pretty bomb! Plus, they have the best alcoholic margaritas in town. If you ever have Fauna serve you, she is one of the nicest and friendliest employees there! We love seeing her smiling face every time we come in and adds to our overall experience. read more

We have come to Pelancho's consistently for over two years now - several times a month. The food is generally ok (sometimes on the bland side & often messy looking) but usually arrives quickly. Pelancho's has always given a 10% LMU food discount to students which, although very minimal, is still a help to students on a tight budget. This past weekend, went again Saturday evening and no LMU discount. When we complained we were told the discount had been discontinued more than 2 months prior, which was not truthful, as we had just dined there the weekend prior and received the discount. The staff was rude and could care less whether or not the discount was given or that we were regular customers and may not return. Such a shame to receive such poor treatment as regular customers and in a town overrun by Mexican restaurants. Probably will return, but only for the margaritas. read more

We were trying to avoid chain restaurants and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious, fresh food. Generous portions and friendly service in a colorful happy, clean setting. The queso fundido with beef & chicken was amazing with warm tortillas. Everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend this as a stop if you are passing through. We stopped in after visiting the nearby Cumberland Gap and hiking in Daniel Boone's footsteps. read more

Really wanted to go to Dairy Queen but my brother kept egging me on to let's go try Pelanchos. First off, Apple maps led us to where Pelanchos was supposed to be, but we ended up at a half ice cream shop, half computer shop. When we did eventually find the place, we both ordered same thing, the Pelancho Burrito. When I cut into the burrito, I raised the fork to my mouth and tasted only stale tortilla. All of the meat had fallen out. Somehow out of pure starvation, I managed to finish the burrito, but that was it. Didn't even touch the beans because they looked like playdo and when I took a bite of the Mexican rice, I thought I had eaten a spoonful of salt. I tried it a second time thinking maybe I just had a bad bite the first time, but nope, second bite was pure sodium once again. I can't eat anything with salt now because in those two bites my daily value of sodium was reached. Seriously though, this place makes Taco Bell look authentic. I mostly writing this review to give me brother a hard time because he kept saying it won't be that bad, but he now fully regrets his decision. I will now be going to Dairy Queen for a dependable chicken finger basket and a blizzard. read more

The service was decent, even though my dining partner didn't get a drink refill until we got the bill. The food was terrible--flavorless chicken, ground beef that hadn't been drained AT ALL, and cheese sauce that was basically white water. I had the Pelancho's nachos. Didn't bother complaining as this was my first and last visit to this place. Should've gone to La Esperanza. read more
