I can't tell you how many times we've passed this place on the way down to Ocean City, Maryland and I've always said we should stop and check it out. Well, we've done that twice in the last month and we could highly recommend this place. One of the great things is, you can still dine in here. The other great thing is the service and the food quality. read more

Peking House Restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Cambridge, Maryland

We ordered Curry chicken. I thought it would be safe. But no... it's Bad food, bad attitude at front desk. We will never go back again.

If you're looking for a complete dump to eat at in Cambridge, look no further than Peking House! The little shit at the front desk had the audacity to argue with me after I called up there when they didn't send the sushi rolls we ordered. Then proceeded to call me a liar! As much money as I've spent in that shithole over the past years! All of them can go straight to hell! And believe me I will do everything in my power to make sure no one eats there! PS. They never did refund the sushi rolls, like they said they were going to. Please don't waste your time with this place. Unless you're into being treated like a criminal and lied to, then it's the place for you! read more

Got Mapo Tofu. The main characteristic of Mapo is that it is spicy. This dish lacked any spice...hot or otherwise. It was just tofu in a brown sauce...and not a very good brown sauce...with some onions, peas, and carrots. Very bizarre to call this Mapo. I guess if someone doesn't know what Mapo is supposed to be, you'd accept this. But I've had Mapo in NYC and DC Chinatowns. This ain't it. If I knew this was going to be so bland, I would have ordered something else with at least ginger and garlic. read more

Great place! On the long drive back to baltimore from virginia beach, i like to take the scenic route and drive up route 13 cause, less traffic. My son was ready to eat and wanted chinese, so when i pulled up what was nearby on maps, this place happened to be a mile away. The restaurant space is large and it looks as if they get a lot of business in the evenings. I ordered hunan pork, while my son had an egg roll with his favorite mapo tofu. The taste was great and service was pretty fast. Next time i come back from the beach i will try to stop by! read more

My family stopped by Peking while in Cambridge for a funeral. The food was very good and the server was very attentive.

It hit the spot. We were staying next door at the Holiday Inn. I needed some soup in my soul to balance the salt from all the old bay. The house soup was filled with veggies! Kids asked for an order of lomein. They didn't even leave me a bite to try some. read more

Earns 3.5 stars, pretty standard maybe above average. We wanted pre race carb meal and went with chicken lo mien and chicken veggie. Both well prepared, hot and full of flavor. Glad we had veggies as lo mien was lacking. Order of egg rolls were reheated after the race and nice cabbage and spice content. Inside looked nice, full bar, plates on table were giant compared to carry out portion. Will go back and try to dine in. read more

We happened to be in Cambridge for an appointment today, and it was lunch time, so we thought we'd stop and try Peking House. The building is an older building, and the seating and decor is a little dated, but everything was neat and clean. I was surprised at how many tables there were! We were greeted quickly upon entry and told we could sit at any open table. A server arrived promptly with menus and ordered our beverages. In addition to the regular menu items, they offer lunch specials, which are slightly downsized from a full entree, which you can get with or without an eggroll (I think it's about a dollar more to get the egg roll). I ordered an egg drop soup, and the General Tso's lunch special with an egg roll. I had a green tea for beverage. The tea was a large pot and was pretty good. The egg drop soup tasted pretty good, although it was not quite as hot (temperature wise) as I'd have expected. The egg rolls were warm and the filling had little pork. But the hot mustard was excellent. The General Tso's chicken came with a generous portion of nicely done rice, and was again, not quite as hot as you'd expect. The flavor was good, but not as spicy as most recipes I've had before. So, overall, I'd say it was a good experience, but I'd probably not go out of my way to eat here. Service was pretty good, food was average. I think a little more attention to the food (either getting it to customer when it's hot or something) might improve things. read more

It was spacious, atmosphere was more like a cafeteria, price was very affordable, service was courteous and efficient. Food was decent and just what you expected. We ordered 3*broccoli and shrimp: nice and healthy, per normal 3*Moo Shu Pork: the portion was big, plenty of sauce, pancakes and vegetables. Sauce was served on the side. read more

This was absolutely the worst "Chinese food" I've ever had and believe me I've had some bad ones. I don't even think the meat was real. I'm definitely filing a complaint with the DoCo food inspector. My wife and I took one bite and could tell the meat was NOT beef or pork. I'm shocked I'm not sick, perhaps because I ate one bite. What a waste of $42. I would give them zero stars if I could. It's a shame that we don't have normal Chinese food here in Cambridge. read more

Solid Chinese restaurant. They even serve Japanese food. Everything we ordered was delicious. Service was very good. Portions were very large. We left happy and full. read more

First of all I have low standards to begin with okay This place has messed up my order twice charged me for 2 meals when I ordered one. And after you leave the place they are incredibly unhelpful even if it's their mistake. Second the guy on the register is extremely unprofessional and rude. He's calling me up to the register instead of finishing off his first transaction. So I'm thinking the bag next to me where I'm paying is mine bc it's a pick up order. I've worked in food service you dont have someone else's order in front of the person who's currently paying. Extremely confusing and unprofessional and as I'm trying to clear up the situation he's being very dismissive and rude acting like it's my fault when he could have just been clear when I asked him. I asked him 3 times if that was my order or if I payed for the wrong one and he's just standing there not saying anything. Won't be back. And look at the beef teriyaki sticks?? They look absolutely horrible and unseasoned I've never seen beef sticks look like this in my life. Looks boiled can't even eat it. I literally created a yelp souly off of how unsatisfied I am with this place. Do not waste your money I'd give it a zero stars If I could read more

Was not my choice for vacation dinner, but it was fine. Service was fast, food was adequate and prices were good. They offer sushi in addition to Chinese and they have a sushi maker trained in Japan. I was still wondering if I should trust the sushi, but the display case looked nice. It was fine. I ordered a salmon roll and dynamite roll. They were both okay. I didn't realize the dynamite roll was spicy and I would not have chosen a spicy roll. It was a little salty too. My kids got standards - beef and broccoli, sesame chicken and lo mein. They said it was decent, but not as good as our go to place in Richmond (which is really good). My daughter didn't like her egg drop soup. After a kind day in the sun, I opted for water. However, they had a bunch of fruity/vacation cocktails on the menu for awesome prices (like $5-6). read more

We visited Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay location and did not enjoy the food there at all! We needed an option for dinner and loved the hotel so very much that we wanted to just grab food quickly and head back. While they don't deliver, they are literally right outside of the property and across the street so it takes 5 mins or less to get there. We had shrimp fried rice, shrimp lo mein, sushi and miso soup. All super yummy! read more

We were desperate for hot soup and there it was, Peking House. Right on Route 50. Our server, Kenny, was a delight. Kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. We ordered the Three Flavor Soup and it totally fit the bill. It was flavourful and loaded with perfectly cooked snow peas and broccoli plus lots of chicken, shrimp and mushrooms. The plate of complimentary fried wontons was a welcome treat. If you're craving Chinese food in the area, give this place a try and ask for Kenny! read more

Wasn't sure where to go for a small get together with old coworkers, so we settled on here. I used to work nearby and would drive past here all the time, but never stopped in until yesterday. So glad I did! Our waiter was just awesome. He really went above and beyond to make our lunch special. It was someone's birthday and he surprised her with a dessert and sung happy birthday. He made us feel welcomed & never made us feel rushed, even though we sat around and talked longer than we probably should have. The food was good too. I'm a vegetarian and they had vegetarian options. Really good veg egg roll. Will definitely be back! read more

No, no, no. The good: Older place, clean with attentive staff. Our order was quickly and efficiently taken (two family meals, with soup, egg roll, entree and rice, decent value for $11.95). The bad: the food. Hot and sour soup was REALLY, really vinegary, sour, but with no spice. Egg rolls were so-so; the condiments in containers on the table (sweet sauce and mustard) were old and tired. For entrees, spousal unit ordered Beef with Broccoli and I ordered Hunan Pork, extra spicy. Both dishes looked and tasted virtually identical, and we agreed, the broccoli was by far the best part. As for "extra spicy", tired red pepper flakes, rather than peppers, added the only heat to this dish. This isn't the worst Chinese I've eaten (that honor is reserved for the strip mall carry out in Texas that had me running for the border...), but it's a long way from the best. read more

Nice place on Rt 50. Full Chinese and Japanese sushi menu. Staff was nice. Great for kids. I'd go back.

My wife wanted Chinese food and the 4 star rated restaurant was too far away. She had noticed this place and frankly I was not happy as the reviews weren't all that great. But... the food was fresh, hot and came out very quickly. She had the Chicken and Broccoli and I had the General Tso Chicken. We were both very happy with our selections. No complaints here. It really does deserve 3 1/2 stars. read more

Well, I was told the food was to die for! Can't say I agree with that! I had chicken with a garlic sauce, the sauce was tasty, but I had no idea it was chicken, the meat was awful, seemed like some type of extruded tasteless meat. Some friends had sushi, that looked better. read more

Just passing through and spending the night next door and went in on a whim. Pleasantly surprised that it was a nice sit down restaurant. I tried a sushi roll I'd not had before. The Jalapeño and Siracha roll was delicious. The Sa Cha shrimp and beef was also delicious. Staff was warm and attentive. I will be back in the area and now I won't have to worry about what to have for dinner! read more

Horrible!! Walked right out! They were so unfriendly, and so uninviting. Walked in, couldn't have cared less if we stayed or left. I ordered a specialty drink, they brought me something totally different then I ordered. And argued with me that it was what I ordered even though the picture on the menu was totally different. Paid for the drink and got the hell out of there! Beware! Stay out! Nasty! read more

I found the sushi to be dry, chewy and having no flavor. The wonton soup also lacked flavor while the wonton were not well made, under stuffed and fell apart when I picked them up to eat. I had a wonderful experience at peking house. We all got sushi and it was to die for! Can't wait to go back next time I'm in town.

Good. Fast. Cheap. We drove 3500 miles just to come to the Peking house. No regrets. #peking4life #hideandseekinghouse

Order is correct. Not busy. Only real sushi location in town. Portions could be larger but the best Chinese food in town.

I should have known not to order here when I only saw one vehicle in the parking lot. It was more like dump special than a lunch special. The chicken was undercooked, it wasn't even cooked a little. The kid at the register acted like he had an attitude and didn't say thank you. I won't be going back. read more

Ordered the Sashimi deluxe platter, 2 egg rolls, 1 shrimp tempura hand roll, and wonton soup. The sashimi platter started off good until I ate a rotten piece of fish. I cant even tell what kind of fish is it. I have a feeling it was supposed to be yellowtail. This fish was so bad my kitchen smelled of it this morning. Forgot to throw it away outside. The shrimp tempura is not real tempura with the light flaky crust. The crust was thick and greasy. The best part of the meal were the egg rolls & the wonton soup. We stopped here for a bite on Saturday night. There were quite a few tables occupied when we went in. Hubby got Cashew Chicken, we shared Crabmeat and Cheese wontons, and I got a few sushi rolls. The presentation of the food was very nice. The food was very good and the servers were attentive and polite despite there only being two of them in the dining room. The dining room is slightly dated but clean. I would recommend this restaurant if you want a good meal that's not fast food and not in a bar setting. read more
