Great place! On the long drive back to baltimore from virginia beach, i like to take the scenic route and drive up route 13 cause, less traffic. My son was ready to eat and wanted chinese, so when i pulled up what was nearby on maps, this place happened to be a mile away. The restaurant space is large and it looks as if they get a lot of business in the evenings. I ordered hunan pork, while my son had an egg roll with his favorite mapo tofu. My family stopped by Peking while in Cambridge for a funeral. The food was very good and the server was very attentive.

Glad we had veggies as lo mien was lacking. Order of egg rolls were reheated after the race and nice cabbage and spice content. We happened to be in Cambridge for an appointment today, and it was lunch time, so we thought we'd stop and try Peking House. The building is an older building, and the seating and decor is a little dated, but everything was neat and clean. I was surprised at how many tables there were! We were greeted quickly upon entry and told we could sit at any open table. A server arrived promptly with menus and ordered our beverages. In addition to the regular menu items, they offer lunch specials, which are slightly downsized from a full entree, which you can get with or without an eggroll (I think it's about a dollar more to get the egg roll). I ordered an egg drop soup, and the General Tso's lunch special with an egg roll. I had a green tea for beverage. The tea was a large pot and was pretty good. The egg drop soup tasted pretty good, although it was not quite as hot (temperature wise) as I'd have expected. The egg rolls were warm and the filling had little pork. But the hot mustard was excellent. The General Tso's chicken came with a generous portion of nicely done rice, and was again, not quite as hot as you'd expect. The flavor was good, but not as spicy as most recipes I've had before. So, overall, I'd say it was a good experience, but I'd probably not go out of my way to eat here. Service was pretty good, food was average. I think a little more attention to the food (either getting it to customer when it's hot or something) might improve things. read more

This was absolutely the worst "Chinese food" I've ever had and believe me I've had some bad ones. I don't even think the meat was real. I'm definitely filing a complaint with the DoCo food inspector. My wife and I took one bite and could tell the meat was NOT beef or pork. I'm shocked I'm not sick, perhaps because I ate one bite. What a waste of $42. I would give them zero stars if I could. First of all I have low standards to begin with okay This place has messed up my order twice charged me for 2 meals when I ordered one. And after you leave the place they are incredibly unhelpful even if it's their mistake. Second the guy on the register is extremely unprofessional and rude. He's calling me up to the register instead of finishing off his first transaction. So I'm thinking the bag next to me where I'm paying is mine bc it's a pick up order. I've worked in food service you dont have someone else's order in front of the person who's currently paying. Extremely confusing and unprofessional and as I'm trying to clear up the situation he's being very dismissive and rude acting like it's my fault when he could have just been clear when I asked him. I asked him 3 times if that was my order or if I payed for the wrong one and he's just standing there not saying anything. Won't be back. And look at the beef teriyaki sticks?? Was not my choice for vacation dinner, but it was fine. Service was fast, food was adequate and prices were good. They offer sushi in addition to Chinese and they have a sushi maker trained in Japan. I was still wondering if I should trust the sushi, but the display case looked nice. It was fine. I ordered a salmon roll and dynamite roll. They were both okay. I didn't realize the dynamite roll was spicy and I would not have chosen a spicy roll. It was a little salty too. My kids got standards - beef and broccoli, sesame chicken and lo mein. They said it was decent, but not as good as our go to place in Richmond (which is really good). My daughter didn't like her egg drop soup. After a kind day in the sun, I opted for water. We needed an option for dinner and loved the hotel so very much that we wanted to just grab food quickly and head back. While they don't deliver, they are literally right outside of the property and across the street so it takes 5 mins or less to get there. We ordered the Three Flavor Soup and it totally fit the bill. It was flavourful and loaded with perfectly cooked snow peas and broccoli plus lots of chicken, shrimp and mushrooms. Wasn't sure where to go for a small get together with old coworkers, so we settled on here. I used to work nearby and would drive past here all the time, but never stopped in until yesterday. So glad I did! Our waiter was just awesome. He really went above and beyond to make our lunch special. It was someone's birthday and he surprised her with a dessert and sung happy birthday. He made us feel welcomed & never made us feel rushed, even though we sat around and talked longer than we probably should have. The food was good too. No, no, no. The good: Older place, clean with attentive staff. Our order was quickly and efficiently taken (two family meals, with soup, egg roll, entree and rice, decent value for $11.95). The bad: the food. Hot and sour soup was REALLY, really vinegary, sour, but with no spice. Egg rolls were so-so; the condiments in containers on the table (sweet sauce and mustard) were old and tired. For entrees, spousal unit ordered Beef with Broccoli and I ordered Hunan Pork, extra spicy. Both dishes looked and tasted virtually identical, and we agreed, the broccoli was by far the best part. As for "extra spicy", tired red pepper flakes, rather than peppers, added the only heat to this dish. This isn't the worst Chinese I've eaten (that honor is reserved for the strip mall carry out in Texas that had me running for the border...), but it's a long way from the best. read more

My wife wanted Chinese food and the 4 star rated restaurant was too far away. She had noticed this place and frankly I was not happy as the reviews weren't all that great. But... the food was fresh, hot and came out very quickly. She had the Chicken and Broccoli and I had the General Tso Chicken. We were both very happy with our selections. No complaints here. Just passing through and spending the night next door and went in on a whim. Pleasantly surprised that it was a nice sit down restaurant. I tried a sushi roll I'd not had before. The Jalapeño and Siracha roll was delicious. The Sa Cha shrimp and beef was also delicious. Staff was warm and attentive. I found the sushi to be dry, chewy and having no flavor. The wonton soup also lacked flavor while the wonton were not well made, under stuffed and fell apart when I picked them up to eat. We stopped here for a bite on Saturday night. There were quite a few tables occupied when we went in. Hubby got Cashew Chicken, we shared Crabmeat and Cheese wontons, and I got a few sushi rolls. The presentation of the food was very nice. The food was very good and the servers were attentive and polite despite there only being two of them in the dining room.
