Super friendly service from Taylor who convinced me to try the tayberry (blackberry and cherry) hand pie, she said it was named after her. The pie was super flavorful, not too tart or too sweet, the pastry wasn't too thick either, just the perfect amount. Also got the toffee almond cookie with flaky sea salt, superb, chewy, crispy. However, I ate the rest later and found it to be too salty. Also got the cold brew and one of the lotus energy drinks, overall great offerings and super service.

Great costumer service and even better pies. Stop on by if you are passing through right off the highway, easy off and easy on.

Cute space with coffee shop vibes but with lots of pie! They have mini pies and hand pies in all flavors, cookies, and coffee. Nice place to sit with a coffee and snack or to carry out your favorite flavors. We tried blueberry peach and cherry hand pies which were as big as a slice of pie. The service was friendly and helpful.

i'm not going to let an opportunity to try a new dessert/pastry shop pass me by. so i pulled over in the pouring rain and decided on a cherry hand pie to go so that it could become tonight's dessert. the shop is cute, with plenty of places to sit and lots of options, both savory and sweet. there's a self service water decanter and drinks and pastries to choose from ordering at the counter. i'm curious what the patronage is like in terms of locals vs visitors. for people passing through mt. vernon this will be another option in the downtown sector where they can take a load off and grab something to raise their waning blood sugar. thinking ahead a few months, they should be able to do a rocking business once the tulip festival rolls around.

Forgot to take pictures of the food before eating it because it was just so GOOD! I ordered a Caprese Panini and a Raspberry Rhubarb Hand Pie. The Caprese Panini was AMAZING. The cheese was smooth and very stretchy and the flavors were all there. The hand pie was so flaky that it stuck to my chapstick. You can tell the pies were made fresh. My friend and I decided to eat there because the ambiance felt as though you were sitting in a cozy cafe. The service was also very swift. Coming back here often with my friend!! I love this place! I am a dasher for DoorDash, usually in Oak Harbor. I have had to be in Mount Vernon in the early mornings and discovered this gem...so cute! I stopped in this morning to sample the foods for myself. We ordered a cheesy potato pocket pie and a veggie quiche with our coffees. The food was as wonderful as the service. We will definitely be back!

Very excellent pie. We got it warmed up and ate it in the cafe with some ice cream -- it was sooo good. So simple but made really well. Wasn't very busy in on a weekday afternoon, we came after visiting the tulips. Soo worth a stop for some delicious pies.

We stopped by after seeing tulips. Located in downtown near the co-op is Pegasus Pie, a cute modern coffee and pie shop. They are currently have construction so there isn't much room to sit inside. We ordered a rhubarb pie and a toffee chocolate chip cookie. One review said it was better than Snohomish Pie Co. The crust and crunchy crumble does make me love this pie more too! I was surprised! But the contrast of soft filling with the flaky crust and crunchy topping was delicious! The cookie was a bit too sweet for me, I'd order a plain chocolate chip one in the future. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Mount Vernon!

    Marionberry Pie, absolute perfection!

We wanted a good Marionberry Pie for Thanksgiving, I knew exactly where to go for that, I had tried a small Pegasus Pie earlier this year, so I went back in to see what I could find. I ordered a 9" pie and picked it up the next day. The price of the pie was a little shocking at first, but after considering the downtown Mount Vernon location, the quality of the pie, and that they most likely pay their employees a living wage, I gladly paid it. After telling my son how much the pie was he stated "it better be life changing". Well I am here to say that the Marionberry pie was a life changing experience, one of the best pies I've had since my grandmother passed away 20 years ago, and she made really good berry pies. The crust is soooo good, just perfect, and the consistency of the pie filling was spot on, and held up for days after without drying out. I was also impressed with the bakery back behind the scenes, I would have asked for a tour if the weren't so busy. Thank you Pegasus Pie, it's nice to see a successful business in downtown Mount Vernon.

Excellent hand pies and on the weekends amazing biscuits and gravy. Favorite combo is jalapeño cheddar biscuit with mushroom gravy -- so good! Sometimes there isn't much in the pastry case and service at times can be a bit of a wait for hot items, but I hope as this place continues to grow in popularity those things will be resolved. Very cute and cozy stop for a Saturday morning breakfast.

This was a slice of quiche after tip it was $8.70

So when I'm in Mountain Vernon, I have to stop by this place and have a scoop or a pint to go. The staff at the front is usually very friendly and courteous. They seem to hire teenagers or young adults and they are on top of it. The pricing is reasonable, the ingredients are fresh. First time ordering a burger here, I got the junior cheeseburger with onion rings and huckleberry milkshake. Milk shake came right out and yummy. The burger took a while. Recommended!

The name of this…read moreplace excited him so much that he decided to surprise me by not telling me where we were going. He could not be more hype about an average diner called 'Big Scoop'. The area has some parking spots, but when we arrived, all the parking spaces and all the tables were taken. They were quite busy for a Wednesday evening. When we arrived, we had no idea what to do. Do we sit ourselves? Do we wait to be seated? Do we place an order at the counter and then sit? There was no signage and no greeting to inform us. So we stood there, feeling silly and out of place, for a good few minutes, before one adult staff member approached the counter to punch an order into a computer and literally said to us, 'I don't have time to talk to customers right now, sorry.' Ooooookay we'll just keep standing here. Eventually, our waitress/savior Kate greeted us, sat us at a table, and gave us menus. She was younger, upbeat, kind, and apologetic for the confusion. We looked over the menu, and a third staff member came by to take our order. I ordered the Big Scoop cheeseburger basket with fries & my husband ordered the hot ham & cheese with fries. The hot ham & cheese was your average grilled cheese with a protein. Nothing special. The burger was good, but nothing special there either. You'll notice that the other half of the menu is all. ice. cream. Just options and options of different ways to order your ice cream; the flavors are listed on the wall, not on the menu. They are happy to make any changes or customizations to your ice cream order. IMO the menu was overwhelming with no easy way to sort or compare options, so it needs an overhaul in the way it's presented. We ended up getting the #13, Sweet Superstitions, with the flavors Moose Tracks & chocolate peanut butter ice cream scoops. Again, nothing special here; the two cherries promised in the menu was just one cherry cut in half, and the peanuts were stale. The fudge wasn't hot either. For a place called Big Scoop, we got pretty small scoops of ice cream. When we checked out at the counter, Kate helped us out again. She was very encouraging and was so excited to have us in town for the tulip festival. I hope Kate gets a raise or goes far in life! Overall, a fun memory but an underwhelming experience in terms of service and flavor.

We had breakfast there last Wednesday morning, and from the moment we arrived, it felt special. The outside is adorable, but somehow the inside is even more charming. There's such a warm, welcoming energy the second you walk in. Off to the side is their incredible shop, "Re-Feather Your Nest," filled with thousands of unique and beautiful items--it honestly feels like a destination all on its own. To the left when you enter, you're greeted by their bakery cases, and wow--there are more options than most bakeries I've ever seen. Everything looked amazing, and we were lucky enough to be seated right away (always a win!). The restaurant itself is two stories, and our table overlooked the store below, which made the whole experience even more fun. We started with their famous cinnamon roll, fresh coffee (with the cutest little design on top!), and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice--which was incredibly refreshing. For breakfast, I ordered the Calico Benedict on a homemade English muffin with corned beef--so good! And the country-style potatoes? Easily some of the best I've ever had. I couldn't even finish them and happily took the rest home...they were just as delicious the next day. My husband ordered the Breakfast Sampler with sausage and loved every bite as well. What really stood out, beyond the food, was how clean everything was and how genuinely happy the staff seemed. You can tell they enjoy working there, and that makes such a difference. After breakfast, we wandered through the gift shop and found so many unique treasures--big and small. I actually visited Magnolia in Waco, Texas a couple of months ago, and honestly, this is the kind of charming, personality-filled place that would fit right in there (and maybe even outshine it!). If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by--even if it's just to browse the shop. It's one of those rare places that truly has it all. A must-visit!

We go to different places at least four times a year together, or on our own. One of the gals heard about White Branches on IG. I was surprised I never heard of the place. I've researched every place that's serves afternoon or high tea. It was at least a two hour drive each way for us but it was so worth it! When you first walked in the ladies said to me that this is my kind of place. That's because I'm a musical theater actress and when they saw all the items you can purchase that I wear they knew this place was for me. Then walking through the Alice in wonderland looking through the walking glass towards the theater. I felt at home like I wanted to step on stage and sing. I was overwhelmed by all the mask, tiaras, facinators, and gifts you can purchase because I wanted them all. I did spend a pretty penny, but I know that I'll wear them to all my events. But let me tell you about the food. So the last time we went to Victoria BC had high tea at the Empress we were all disappointed because it's not the way it used to be. The food was not impressive. Come to find out they have a new chef. Now White Branches...it was only Holly and Matt who is the owner working. The savories were delicious, the bread was so fluffy, the desserts were every single favorites of mine. They must've known I was coming. Every Mmmm that came out of my mouth. I could eat all my desserts because I was so full so I took them home for my snack. But the best part were the scones. My friend and I had to bring back the scones with the crunchy top that was sweet( I can't remember if it was peach) and soft and warm in the middle. So I took a couple home, my husband and one of my daughters ate them. Don't leave any for me...ugh! But my daughter who has traveled around the world because she's a flight attendant said that it was the best scone she has ever had. I hope Matt keeps that scone because next time we drive up we might order more to bring home. We are planning a spring time tea where will stay the night, see the tulips, then tea at white branches. Btw talk about tea, they had every flavor we loved. Also compared to a lot of the high tea places by where we live. White Branches prices are more reasonable that driving two hours away is worth it.
