Dr. Allen, Dr. Michael and the entire Pegasus team provide the most incredible Physical Therapy experience experience that I have ever had. Their combination of heat and deep tissue massage has left me feeling like I have had a miracle . I have continued taking 700 mg of gabapentin at bedtime but no other pain medication not even Tylenol during the night or day. I have been seeing them twice a week for the past month. This is my first day of waking up pain-free. I am even walking around without my cane!Drove to get my hair done sitting here in disbelief. Alan and his team are the BEST! I have had three knee surgeries in the past year and I have gone there after each for recovery. Everyone there is so kind and professional, I can't imagine ever going elsewhere for PT. After my first surgery, I was in so much pain and was on crutches much longer than I expected and I started weening off crutches after my first visit. Alan and his team are phenomenal. This is the second major injury I have gone to him for and he is far superior to other PT's I have seen. For this recent injury, I saw two other PT's before I saw him. Neither of the other two truly understood my injury and some of their recommendations were counter productive. I have been an athlete all my life and have gone through physical therapy for two knee surgeries, and two shoulder replacements. I was referred to Pegasus by my doctor and turns out I have a tear in my arm muscle. Alan and his team are SO great! Super friendly. It's a quaint, comfortable environment. I had a TKR in December and for the first month after surgery Pegasus PT came to my house for rehab. I had a very positive experience with Kathrin the Physical Therapist. She was very helpful in motivating me in what exercises to do to get my leg back. She was always on time and kept a schedule that was around my schedule. A big thank you to Alan and his team. I've been under Alan's care for the last year. When I went to see him, I had been through Physical Therapy for a full year and wasn't seeing results. My neurologist recommended Alan and I went to see him. When I sat down with him, he instilled a great deal of confidence in the treatment plan and he was right. Within six weeks I had progressed in ways I had not with my previous PT. I was in a car accident that gave me a concussion and severe whiplash. The pain I had in my neck and head was unbearable at times, and I suffered from bouts of vertigo that kept me in bed for days. Alan's technique is different and he is very hands on. I'm eternally grateful to him for what he has done for me. Alan has a great team around him and it's easy to place all of your trust in his care. Dr. Alan Cheng is amazing! I tore my ACL skiing and had ACL reconstruction surgery in June 2018. One month post-surgery my ACL doctor (Dr. Labovitch - incredible google him) wanted to know who my physical therapist was because my range of motion and stability exceeded his expectations. The Pegasus office environment is very comforting and the massage therapists are highly skilled. My sessions included knee/leg massages to warm up the muscles (favorite part), range of motion/stability/strength exercises, and finished with icing. Alan is kind of like a coach in the way that he supports you but pushes you to your full potential to make sure you recover within the timeframe you want. I never dreaded physical therapy because Alan and his staff always made it entertaining. I would definitely recommend Pegasus! I'm 8 months post-surgery and back playing sports! P.S. I forgot to mention that my roommate recommended Pegasus to me. Prior to my ACL tear, she broke her ankle and saw Dr. Michael Thorpe at Pegasus. She said she really liked Dr. Thorpe and the Pegasus approach because it's different than the typical physical therapist office. Pegasus uses AcuStretch (deep tissue massage) to alleviate pain in combination with exercises. You won't regret going to Pegasus, especially the massages! read more

I went there three times in March and April 2018. The woman at the desk looked up my insurance information and told me my copay would be $15, since I rarely get physical therapy I took her at her word. On each visit I paid with a credit card, in May I got a bill for $180.00 which was the remainder of my deductible plus the copays. It turned out that that they didn't actually charge my card after researching it. They also didn't give me exercises to do at home as my doctor expected. I think they could have been much more professional in each case. I had stopped going because it was not helping at all. read more

This office does an amazing job customizing your physical condition. My injured arm was keeping me up at night with excruciating pain. The had me healed in 2 weeks. Getting my range of motion back was a team effort and not always easy but I made progress at every session. I am fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Alan Cheng last June by my podiatrist, primarily for torn peroneal tendons. As an active 62 year old with prior back and hip problems, I needed a good therapist to help me recover from more than two years of walking with an altered gait and subsequent flare-ups of my back and hip pain (and serious leg atrophy). It is now January, 2021 and I am for the first time in 2 1/2 years walking normal. I have been to multiple physical therapists and must say Dr. Cheng is the best therapist I have ever seen; truly gifted. The Pegasus group is multi-modality in their approach consisting of adjustments, deep tissue massage and progress guided exercise. Not Good, the Pegasus that I went to was in Laguna Hills I believe the PT is the same one mentioned in the previous reveiw. I believe their billing practices are not ethical or honest. i was quoted $65 to $90 per visit when i recieved the bill it was about 3 times as high as the range i was quoted. there were charges for work not done also. i called to alert them of this and recieved a new bill (lower mind you) but still charged for items not done and for more that the original quote. I will not go back and do not recommend them. read more

I've been to Pegasus Physical Therapy a number of times for different problems, including shoulder, elbow, and wrists. Each time, Dr. Alan Cheng was spot on in diagnosing the problem and providing me with the appropriate treatment. Sometimes it required doing the appropriate exercises at home, other times, it required Dr. Cheng to be hands on, personally working with me until I got better. Throughout the process, Dr. Cheng explained the issue and treatment in detail, setting me at ease and helping me to understand what I needed to do to get better. I love this place. I have suffered from headaches for a long time, my doctor referred me to Alan with my current neck issues leading to headaches. From the first time i went i felt a ton of relief. It is hard to make your first appointment, but that is because they are busy with current clients. Once you are in appointments are easy to get. For sure worth the wait. The staff is really nice too. Dr. Alan was impressive on the first visit. I was encouraged that I would have some relief from back pain. . Each time I returned--and it was often...I had to insist that I see him and was successful one or two times but after that I was moved off to his assistants. I was told he was busy with other patients. On one visit, they booked an appointment for me with his partner in the other office. I had no idea that this was so until I got there. That was clearly a waste of time and money. The front office was inefficient and unfamiliar as it related to insurance matters and poor about returning phone calls. This is not an office I would recommend, I'm sorry to say. It's really a shame. I thought I could make progress. read more

I was referred here by my Dr after I began suffering muscle spasms in my lower back. The spasms had to do with a cycling related injury so the circumstances were unique. I went to the office on Superior in Newport and was treated by Alan. Alan was very straightforward and said that he uses Chinese acupressure and a combo of traditional PT techniques. You're not going to find a bunch of fancy equipment here but what I found instead was almost instant relief. Accupressure is working for me. After 3 visits I got the okay to hit the gym again and I'm hoping ill be back on my bike by the end of January. I don't know why the other reviews are so harsh but they are mis-categorized and are different offices. I highly recommend Pegasus, they will definitely treat you right. read more

Dr. Alan Cheng and his staff are amazing. I started going to Pegasus after my microdisectomy. I had a servere disc herniation. The advice and physical therapy treatments I received were an integral part of my recovery. Alan totally gets it since he's also a competitive athlete. Most doctors and physical therapists will just tell you to stop what you're doing. When you're a competitive dancer or athlete, stopping is not an option. I've very active in aerial fitness and dance. Alan researched and watched videos of aerial fitness in order to fully understand the mechanics of what I was doing. Alan has given me the best advice on how to become a better and stronger dancer and avoid reinjury. I trust Alan wholeheartedly. I have battled with chronic back pain for over 12 years and recently underwent an SI joint fusion followed by a lumbar laminectomy 18 months later.
