This is a very interesting store to come to if you love collectors items! They have a bunch of different types of toys to purchase. From air planes to tanks, even collectors cars! I've been here quite a few times and the employees are always super friendly. They're always helpful with any questions or if you need suggestions on items. My brother in law comes here specifically to purchase paint for his Warhammer collection. They also have a lot of War hammer products which is good for those in the area. I'm not sure if there's a games workshop nearby but this store definitely offers a good selection of their product. I love their car collections too! My son likes playing with cars so I always go check out this section when I visit to see if they have anything new. The first time I visited Pegasus Hobbies I found a big Lightning McQueen car for $20 which made my son super happy when I got it for him. The store is pretty large. This is what a hobby store used to be about. We can talk about sexual inequality for a moment. Women have Hobby Lobby which is around the size of a supermarket if not larger full of some of the most obscure stuff you could even imagine. If you want to put the word "Juicy" on something in glitter, well you've got an entire aisle dedicated to your bedazzling ideas. But men have needs too. Sometimes we just need an EP 6040 prop. Don't question our life choices. I don't think most women can understand our sickness. I have to tell the young dudes to not bring up planes during the first 3 dates. It's something we have to disclose on our terms. The conversation goes like this: Gal: Planes, as in toys that you fly? Guy: Yeah. Radio Controlled Gal: How bad is it? Guy: I don't know, $500 sometimes $1000 a month. Gal: No wonder why we only eat at Burger King Guy: One favor, if you sleep over, be sure to turn on the light before you go to the restroom. My last GF broke the tail on my Carbon Cub trying to find it in the dark. I'm running out of space to store these planes. The RC flying hobby used to be about building stuff. Yes, there was a time when the gas engines for a plane was around $300 and guys would carry on all afternoon about fuel grades at the local hobby store. These were conversations they couldn't have with any rational, sane people in reality. But the guy at the local hobby store would not only listen but actually could be a resource. So, what has changed? The planes went electric, they got a lot cheaper and instead of building the planes you buy them in a box that is ready to fly. I refer to them as "Happy Meals." One recent hobby store I went to in San Diego told me that they sell happy meals, and parts to fix said planes when the crash. That's it. Pegasus actually has kits for sale. And I'm talking the old balsa wood kits as well as the newer foam kits. And yes, if you want to buy Happy Meals they have nearly all the Horizon Hobby planes on the shelves. A hobby store that is this well stocked is kinda a dying thing. So this is a place that's worth driving to. If you're coming from out of state and staying in Los Angeles this is worth the very expensive Uber ride you'll need to take. The guys behind the counter are a resource, to an extent. For most of the hobby, they know their stuff. Some things they don't get into as much. The prices are reasonable for a lot of the stuff they sell. If you're buying happy meal planes they have the same prices as what you'd find online. Overall,this is pretty much one of the better hobby stores in the world. Hopefully, they will stick around in this anti-brick & mortar era. They realy do have the best of everything. And ladies, if you do decide to date a guy who flies RC planes, we're like Nuns. Pegasus has been the place I go to buy miniatures and has been for almost the entire time I've collected them. They have a crazy selection, good prices, and I've never left without buying something. That being said, I have never felt welcome. The employees at Pegasus look at you like you are trying to take away from their personal collection. If you ask for help finding something, they will point in a vague direction and grunt. Buy a large item and the cashier will be kind and helpful, but if you dare to come in for something simple like glue or a couple of paints the cashier will not hide the disdain on her face. But if I have to get into specifics. Jeff my man. You need to stop spewing your politics all over the miniature section. While looking at mini's I don't need to be constantly inundated with your antiquated ideas and personal insecurities. I will still go to Pegasus if I need to. Or want to sell some models. Absolutely dig this store! Throwback to when these types of places existed in much greater numbers. They some amazing selections of RC planes and cars, a few boats as well. They have major models section with paints and all that stuff. Super cool and rare spot. I had amazing service on both sections of the store that I made purchases in. The older dudes on the airplane counter are the greatest! Took time to explain to my son and I about novice RC plane operations, they even have a simulator that you can operate! After asking the big & tall middle aged white gentleman with a white beard, supposedly the "Bossman" about if a specific item was in stock the reply I received was appalling to say the least. I get a long rant about shipping containers being stuck in China and advised not to purchase any "junk from China" from them in the future. Hmm... I guess since that's primarily where all of there products/ "junk" comes from, I was being told not to shop at Pegasus again. This review is solely based on customer service. We've been here a few times and there's always this skinny gentlemen with a long ponytail who always appears to be in a bad mood. Very short. Very miserable. Very dry. He should not be helping customers. Makes you feel unwelcome. You ask him a question and he's very short with his respond. Almost a get out of here already vibe. I have a fascination for little toys. Not remote control vehicles, not plastic or balsa wood models (and they have lots here), not scary dioramas of knights and dragons. I leave that for Mr. B. There it was. My passion. I saw a table set up with bunches of little wind up toys. Bathtub swimmers, jumpers, racers, marchers. I nearly forgot that I had been dragged into yet another hobby shop under duress. Yep. All under the guise of "getting them for the grandson", I chose 5 toys. A bear that clangs together cymbals, a monkey holding a banana and does flip flops, a shiny red racing car, a hopping frog, and a little bird water whistle. Now you may think I am crazy, but this distraction kept me out of Mr. B's hair. And little Drew and I will have hours of fun while Grandpa smuggles more stuff into his Man Cave for his models. I don't know what happened to their customer service. Used to be decent, but my husband just came with our sons to buy an RC car, and they were rude and not helpful at all. If he wasn't willing to purchase a 500 dollar car for my son, they were not interested. I pride myself on shopping local to try and keep small businesses alive. I never have a problem spending a few extra bucks because I get that people have rent and that people have overhead. What an amazingly overwhelming experience walking into this store! They have everything... and I mean everything. I can't wait to come back and spend more money in this store. The reason for my visit was to get my son's Power Wheels back up and running. Thankfully, you have a team member named Dana that made my experience with your store nothing short of fantastic. He helped me determine the issue with the truck by coming out to my car and doing a diagnostic. Within a few minutes, he knew it was a battery so he retrieved one to confirm that this was the cause of the issue. He returned with the battery, and it began working. The selections for whatever type of hobbies or interests you have are diverse and great but what I don't appreciate is the service you can get from a few of staff. When I ask have had questions, I receive prompt and enthusiastic replies. But I have noted, on a couple of occasions, when my pre-teen son asks for assistance, the staff that I observed, hate to be bothered or be taken away from a conversation with a co-worker, by a quick question by my son. My son has noticed and though he denied it, those interactions had lessened his enthusiasm for his hobby even if momentarily. Staff should be happy and be helpful in growing similar interests in the youth. read more

Wish I could give zero stars! The service is beyond terrible every time. Today I walked in for batteries, the girl that "helped" me seem to go out of her way to be rude. The name on the receipt for this cashier was Tobi, not sure if that's her or not. Held a birthday party here and the people at Pegasus couldn't have made it any easier for me! It was perfect, they had easy-ups set up for shade, tables and chairs, access to a fridge and microwave and 2 people helping with the RCs (1 was being trained). The staff (Andy aka the best!) went out of his way to help fix my son's RC that broke during his party as well as being patient with the other kids who weren't as RC savvy. 2 hours on a private track, 10 rental RCs, tech person to help kids change out RCs, 3 pizzas for only $250! This was a steal!!!! Private track was really great... The kids loved having the whole place to themselves. Would recommend everyone hold their kids bday parties here. This is a nice hobby store with a very nice selection of product, that being said, some of the employees are really out to lunch. I'm picking up a few truck model kits and overheard a loud conversation a few aisles over in the wargaming area. This was between a customer and I guess the dude running the wargaming section? Anyways the customer was trying to politely change the subject away from politics, but... Loudly saying "Whatever kids are into these days regarding sexuality", and delving into bathroom politics, gender identity, and then transitioning over to middle east issues and torture regarding Jamal Khashoggi certainly raised an eyebrow from me. The other customer looked embarrassed and was trying to change the subject. I think the store needs to hire folks with social skills appropriate for retail work and train them on the product vs finding some troll who is an expert in Warhammer 10,000 who wants to share his ideas on how to solve today's real-world problems in a really obnoxious way. Leave the politics at home folks. Other than that, everyone else seemed to have their head on right. read more

About as good as hobby stores get nowadays, anywhere in the country. They have what I need for my RC airplane hobby about 75% of the time. Prices are slightly higher than internet, but not rip off. Good selection of airplanes at all completion levels. Fair selection of radios. Personnel have a fair knowledge of the hobby. They can be stumped, but it is a fairly complicated hobby. Only real complaint is how late they open. 11 o'clock is just too darn late. read more
