Will not be returning as myself and my dog had terrible customer service. My dog Oakley has been in…read moredoggy daycare since she was a puppy and has always loved it. Prior to going to red dog, she has gone to 2 different doggy day cares (due to relocating). People used to ask me how I knew she liked going and I told them "it's because she's always so excited to go inside and usually drags me in the door. At her past daycares, the workers were some of her favorite people. When I moved to Boston, the was NOT the case at the red dog resort. In fact it was the opposite, as she was dragging me away from the place and was visibly shaking when I would drop her off after her first couple of stays. I told the front desk person I was concerned but gave them the benefit of the doubt and simply asked they give me a call to check in later that afternoon to give me some peace of mind. Nobody called me. This happened TWICE on two separate occasions back to back. When I picked her up the second time I told them how frustrated I was and they told me that the daycare is very big and busy and they can't keep up with call requests despite being told before that it wasn't a problem the day prior. They also told me that the manager Bobby would give me a call to rectify this and after over WEEK he never called me. I have still not heard from anyone about this except for a text message from them that ended with them continuing to string me along waiting for a call. Their customer service and management seems to be run poorly and appears to be impacting the quality of their care (as evidence of my dogs physical reaction to going into their care). I am very frustrated for my dog and for myself for giving them so many chances.

**Health & Welfare Concerns as well as lack of organization and accountability**…read more During my dog's recent 4-day stay, multiple serious issues emerged: **Health & Welfare Concerns:** When I picked up my dog, it was immediately apparent she had not been given adequate access to water. Her oral mucosa was extremely dried out--a clear sign of dehydration. This is a basic care requirement for any boarding facility. They also did not give her medications correctly, giving them at the incorrect time of day which can cause adverse health outcomes. **Lack of Organization & Accountability:** When I arrived for pickup, the staff didn't know where my dog was. She was described as being "somewhere in the groom area on the second floor." Despite having her grooming started at 11 AM, at 5:30 PM when I arrived, there was no clear tracking of her location or status. More troubling: she was supposed to return to daycare, which was explicitly included in the premium boarding package I paid for. **Hidden Fees & Price Gouging:** Beyond the already expensive room rate, Red Dog charges for everything, including bagging food but not returning the individual food containers your drop off, while refusing to provide any transparency about what actually happens behind closed doors. You pay premium prices for services you can't verify are being delivered. **Unsubstantiated & Inappropriate Allegations:** Most concerning: Red Dog claimed my dog, who is a certified therapy dog with extensive professional experience in hospitals and clinical settings, tried to bite someone during grooming. This allegation contradicts her entire behavioral history and working credentials. As well as impeccable boarding, grooming and daycare experiences at other facilities. Red Dog Boarding demonstrates poor animal care standards, organizational chaos, aggressive pricing practices, and a troubling lack of accountability.

I am adjusting my previous review to a 3-star middle ground. I want to be entirely clear that this…read moreclinic's facility is fine, and the vet tech who assisted us--the young Black woman working the room--was absolutely phenomenal. She was gentle, empathetic, and even took the time to connect with me and look at a photo of my cats' dad. She represents the absolute best of this practice. My rating drop is strictly and entirely due to the manipulative corporate greed displayed by Dr. Nicole Batchelder.I have been an incredibly loyal client here, investing nearly $4,798 in total care for my cats. Dr. Nicole previously performed successful surgeries on my tuxedo cats, Rocky and Tammy, and my long-haired grey cat, Gordon. Because of that, I trusted her completely until our appointment this weekend.During our visit, Dr. Nicole aggressively pushed for a high-priced echocardiogram for Rocky. When I politely said "no thank you"--reminding her that she herself already successfully operated on Rocky and her daughter Tammy despite their genetic tuxedo-line murmurs--she resorted to blatant psychological manipulation. She tried to scare me by stating she "would hate for me to call in because they suddenly had a genetic heart attack," claiming cats hide illnesses well. Weaponizing a pet parent's worst nightmare because they establish a financial boundary is medically unethical and cruel. When she realized I wouldn't budge, she literally shifted her eye contact to try to manipulate my mother instead, which backfired completely. To make matters worse, the moment her sales pitch failed on Rocky, she picked up my long-haired grey cat, Gordon, and suddenly claimed he now has a heart murmur, too. UPDATE FOR CONTEXT: To clarify exactly why the vibe shifted: This happened the moment I politely refused an elective $80 blood test for Rocky. The second I said no, the vet immediately picked up my other cat, Gordon, claimed he suddenly had a heart murmur, and used a 'heart attack' scenario as a scare tactic to pressure us. She even asked me if anyone had ever told me he had a murmur before. The irony? She is the exact vet who neutered Gordon on 02-07-2025. If he had a life-threatening heart condition, she should have detected it before putting him under anesthesia for surgery. The timing of this diagnosis was entirely too convenient. When I stood my ground, she literally turned away from me to target my mom to try and get a different answer. This isn't a complaint about money; it's a warning about manipulative, high-pressure sales tactics." Gordon was checked and cleared at 11 weeks, 13 weeks, 15 weeks was given his first Rabies Shot on 01-24-2025 By Wellness Wagon and Second Distemper no Heart Murmur detected and 17 weeks--the exact day Dr. Nicole herself cleared him for anesthesia, neutered him, and gave his distemper shot as mentioned above 02-07-2025 . A structural murmur does not miraculously appear the exact minute a client declines an expensive upsell on a completely different cat.By fabricating this note out of spite, she has potentially permanently flagged a healthy cat with a "pre-existing condition" on his file. I am giving Office Manager Britney, Practice Manager Dan, and Dr. Tricia the chance to audit Gordon's chart and wipe this false note today. But as for Dr. Nicole, her complete corporate detachment from animals she personally operated on has permanently destroyed my trust in her.

I'd been going to the same vet for about 5 years prior to this and I had an increasingly difficult time scheduling an appointment so I tried Emmerson and am thrilled. They scheduled his initial appointment very quickly. The vet called us and talked through everything and consistently asked if we had questions. Since then I needed advice and eventually an appointment for my dog and they got him in right away and did a terrific job during surgery. The vets we've worked with have been outstanding and so helpful, the vet techs are amazing and do a phenomenal job soothing your pet (they know it can be traumatic for dogs and humans), and whenever I request receipts for insurance they are so happy to help and send it immediately. Overall, they are helpful, well organized, kind, and excellent vets.
