I especially appreciated when Sierra came down with signs illness right before we were scheduled to leave town on a big vacation and Jen took it all in stride. Jen and Dan are truly as good as it gets! I have used BPS for the last six years since moving to Back Bay with Sydney, an older dog that was as cranky as she was lovable. Dan treated her like a queen and she loved him. After Sydney "went to college" at the age of 17, I adopted a very shy rescue, Jeta. She can't be left with just anyone and could never go to a kennel - but I knew she would love Dan. (I have seen Dan on the street walking other shy dogs and he has a reassuring rapport with them.) Sure enough, he knew how to approach her and she trusts him. On his first overnight, she cuddled up to him and nudged him for attention - amazing since my family can't even pet her. Jen and her team have been my go to care for my cat Maggie when I am out of town for the last 10 years, and this seems to happen more often then not at the last moment. They have always come through and do a great job of providing care. They even go the extra mile, picking up mail or packages that may be left for me, and once going out and buying kitty litter and changing her box when they thought it needed it. And I always appreciate the recap note Dan leaves me about his time and adventures with Maggie while I was gone. Boston Pet Sitters is an excellent dog walking service. Don't think that if you call them today, your dog will start walking with them tomorrow - Jennifer likes to meet the dogs and the owners first. When you start with them, you're given a calendar book where your dog walker will leave notes - the notes are detailed and I always feel confident that my puppy Beckett is being treated well and having fun on her walks (I even know some of the pups she likes walking with most often!). They are flexible and accommodating; in the summer my weekly schedule can vary often, and they've been easy going about cancelling days. I either leave notes or text my dog walker directly if I need to get in touch, and both methods have always resulted in prompt responses. Below are two particularly poignant examples of Christian's excellence as a dog walker. Anytime I walk Beckett and she sees Christian in the distance on the street, she immediately wants to say hi. It's clear she has a great positive association with him, and he has been sweet and kind every time I've seen him interact with her. Even more telling- one day I left Christian a note to please write for me in our calendar book whether Beckett pooped on one of her walks since she hadn't on her two morning walks with me. Instead, he went above and beyond - taking her on extra long walks that day to try and encourage her to go and texted me after both to keep me updated, which I so appreciated! I've been lucky enough to have had my dog, Frankie, walked by Boston Pet Sitters for the past three years. Christian has always been absolutely amazing with him and I would have continued using their service if it weren't for having moved from Beacon Hill to the Somerville area. Christian started out as Frankie's walker, but quickly became one of my dearest friends. He was always extremely professional and left detailed "progress notes" at the end of every walk for me to read back at the end of a long day. If there were ever any concerns about Frankie's wellbeing, Christian would immediately notify me to keep an eye out. Frankie absolutely loved Christian and the Boston Pet Sitters team. When I would be home during pick up, he would go absolutely crazy upon seeing Christian and the other dogs. Just started using Boston Pet Sitters about 2 weeks ago and couldn't be happier. I used to work from home so my handsome pug Finn has never been left alone. With a new job, I reluctantly hired a dog walker to be sure he was getting at least some attention during the day. Our walker, Mike, is wonderful. He leaves detailed notes in Finn's "daily log" with #1/2 info, how long they walked, when, and asks questions like "does Finn have a towel I can use to dry him off on wet days?" I now come home from work knowing my little man is well cared for and exercised. Also great to know that I can cancel or switch schedules with short notice. Boston Pet sitters walked my dog for over a year while I lived in Back Bay. I only wish that they had services in Somerville, as in all that time, they never once missed a walk and were awesome people. My dog LOVED her walkers. They spoiled us as E, would even take my pup out for more than one walk cycle (2 -3 hours sometimes!) if the weather was nice and she seemed to have more energy than usual. They gave me a day book, and left me daily notes about what the dogs did, whether there were and abnormalities or things to worry about. I could always call for an evening walk if I couldn't make it home, and it never felt like an inconvenience. Granted, this is one of the services that you see a walker with sometimes up to 5-6 dogs in a pack, but I still haven't come across another service that is as reliable, caring, and flexible as Boston Pet sitters. We used Boston Pet Sitters after having a terrible experience at our former doggie day care. We were referred by a neighbor who has used their services for a long time. Before we started, the owner, Jennifer, came over for an interview. We told her all of our concerns from past experiences and what our hopes/expectations were, and she spent some time with our dog/us to make sure it would be a good fit. We ended up having Dan walk our dog, and he was great! He was professional and really seemed to know and care about the dogs in his group. He always came as scheduled and wrote detailed notes (with times of walks, routes taken, type of "business" done by our dog, and any special or funny happenings) in the planner they gave us. This made us feel that, although we had not been home, we had a good sense of what the dog had been up to and what kind of walk we should give her at night. He also made sure to give our dog the Kong or treat we had left and make sure her water bowl was filled. My only concern was that sometimes it was hard to get a hold of them if we needed to communicate a scheduling change. A few times we left messages and calls were not returned promptly. However, communicating via the planner worked pretty well (we left notes for Dan there too), and we never had any major problems at all. read more

She genuinely loves each and every of her four-legged 'clients' whom she treats with the same affection as her own golden retriever, Thurman. Dogs being sat overnight all pile into the bed to sleep family style; they are, after all, members of one big happy family. An idyllic NH lake house on an idyllic, safe and secluded three and a half acres of green grass, sandy beach with dock, picturesque lake and fragrant woods serves as the setting for weekend dog sits. This service is offered as a perk to clients' dogs whose temperaments are trusted and known for their compatibility. It was a vision she has had since childhood, to create a home and property for dogs that was safe and where they could run freely and be dogs. I spent the fourth of July long weekend there two years in a row and can safely proclaim that it is doggy heaven.
