My neurologist referred me specifically to Imelda and I have been grateful ever since. Shortly after I started PT at PhysioPartners, I began to experience some pain relief. I was given a comprehensive home routine that I followed. I did not ever think I would be relieved of the neck pain and I am glad that I do not have it often. I would not be honest if I said I was completely pain free. I sometimes get flare ups and the vast majority of the time the home exercises help relieve the pain. Imelda is a McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy clinician. I am grateful for her proficiency in this method because it definitely helps my spine conditions. I recently started physical therapy again. The orthopedic specialist I see told me to work with Imelda again for my spine, lower back pain and nerve pain. PT is helping me quite a bit. I was given new exercises to add to my home routine that are helping me improve and strengthen. From the time I walk through the front door to when I leave, I do not feel rushed. My questions are answered. Imelda confirms that I understand my protocol and instructions. The facility is wonderful and has quite a bit of equipment and classes offered if needed. I am very grateful to Imelda and PhysioPartners. I've shared Imelda's and PhysioPartners' information with friends and colleagues.

Imelda was the first provider who used a truly holistic approach to my care. While other PTs had only focused on my head and neck, Imelda quickly understood that my scoliosis was connected to my migraines and her treatment plan was comprehensive. Working with her has drastically improved my quality of life and my pain management. She has continued to monitor and modify her treatment plan for me as new issues arise. I've had a very positive experience with Imelda and highly recommend her for physical therapy. She is extremely knowledgeable, empathetic, and thorough. I understand my body and triggers much better after working with her. My migraine frequency and scoliosis pain have improved tremendously.

I do the exercises he taught me about five or more days a week. It wasn't necessary to take all the prescribed sessions. I hope nothing else falls apart but if it does this is my PT place. The place has a good vibe and the billing department is easy to work with as well. Also if you ever walked by there from the outside it looks a little crowded but when you are inside it's really nice.

In fact, when my doctor brought up doing another round of PT this past August, I was dead set against it. He said he'd worked with Muscle and Joint, and said I should give them a try before ruling PT out. Reluctantly, I made an appointment, expecting it to be more of the same bad experiences. Imagine my surprise when I was dead wrong. A lot of the credit has to go to my INCREDIBLE physical therapist, Dr. Brandon St. Peters. I cannot sing his praises loudly enough. This may sound silly, but Brandon actually listens to his patients. It was obvious from the first session that Brandon cares about his patient's needs, and helping them make progress with their pain. This is incredibly important when you present with an unusual or rare case. A lot of the times you've been to so many other practitioners who have ignored you and your symptoms, offering no help for your pain. Feeling heard makes you feel like the pain isn't just in your head, and that can be a game changer. Brandon makes you feel that way day one. It's clear he also really knows his stuff, and almost every time, I leave the clinic feeling better than I did walking in. He even helped me (finally!) get the proper diagnosis, and a great pain management specialist to help me. I could go on and on, but seriously he's the best of the best in the field, and even makes sessions fun. That being said, the rest of the staff and clinic are also wonderful. I did two sessions with the owner, Matt Johnson, while Brandon was out of town. He also really knows his stuff. The assistants they have there are absolutely wonderful. One assistant I believe named Taylor (hopefully that's correct) is an absolutely joy every single week. She's definitely an asset to the clinic, and has a bright future ahead of her in PT. The front desk is always super helpful dealing with appointments, insurance, and such, which is no small task. Lastly, the clinic is nice and spacious, and always super clean. Easily the best facility I've been to. So, if you're in need of physical therapy, do not hesitate. RUN to Muscle and Joint. If you're so inclined, ask for Brandon. Just do me a favor. Leave some appointments for me!

I am a veteran of PT rehab stints having had two hip replacements, two rotator cuff surgeries, and one hip labrum tear surgery over the past 25+ years. I believe I know a thing or two about effective PT therapy. Not to take anything away from Athletico, who treated all of my above issues, the Elevate PT team is a significant cut above the typical PT practice. What stands them apart is their deep attentiveness to proper form and function, plus utilizing a frequent change of protocol to both challenge me and keep me motivated. Shivani's goal is not to just get me back to some sort of "status quo", but to make lasting improvements that leaves me better off than before my arrival at her practice. She also taught me many things that I could incorporate on my own to better manage my lower back issues, and those have proven to be quite useful. She pointed out and fixed things wrong with my gait and posture that no one had ever pointed out to me before. Her knowledge and ability to present it in non medical terms is really terrific. All the while doing this with an incredibly friendly and fun demeanor. After all was said and done, I was so impressed with Elevate's practice that I sent my wife there who unfortunately fractured her femur (surgery, rods and screws...the whole works) shortly after I completed my stint. She is working with both Shivani and Maneesha and is thrilled with the treatment she is receiving. What better recommendation could there be than sending a family member?

After those six weeks, I was moved to a short-leg cast, and was referred to physical therapy to start range-of-motion (ROM) exercises. Never having been to PT, I did not know what to expect, but I saw this Athletico was close by, so I decided to try it out. I submitted a request for an appointment through their website, and received a call that same day from Elise. Elise was extremely helpful and ensured I got on their schedule right away. I started PT about two days per week, starting with ROM exercises, then moving on to weight-bearing, then running/jumping. All-in-all, since I did not have surgery, my recovery was much longer, but we got through everything starting in February, and I was discharged in October. I can't say enough great things about this Athletico location. I came in completely nervous about this experience, but Ryan and Mitch were able to calm my nerves immediately and they helped me along every step of this tough journey. Being in PT for eight months, you start to build a relationship with those helping you out, and that's extremely true when it comes to this Atheltico location - all the staff, from my physical therapist, Mitch, to the few sessions I attended with Ryan, along with the amazing assistants - Maggie, Olivia, and Maria who helped me along the way - I always felt like friends with all of them while I was here. While they maintain professionalism, they also ensure to treat you not just as a patient, but as a friend, and it's clear that they truly care and want to see you progress in the journey. While nobody really "enjoys" going to PT, I'd say the treatment, services, and staff at this location made me truly enjoy being there and working towards my goals of being back to 100%. From someone who came in on crutches and a knee scooter, doing exercises like moving my foot back-and-forth or picking up marbles with my toes, I'm now running, jumping, playing tennis again, biking, etc. I was even able to take a full walking tour through Italian villages and cities with no problem thanks to this amazing staff at Athletico. While I'm hoping I never have to come back in here (as I'm never trying skiing again), if I do have PT needs or know anyone who does, I will always recommend Athletico Lakeview East. Thank you, Mitch, Ryan, Elise, Maria, Maggie, Olivia, and the rest of the amazing staff I worked with, and alongside of, at Athletico Lakeview East. I couldn't have asked for a better team to help me through this.

Following my release from the hospital I was required to go to a rehab facility for three weeks. After my release from the rehab facility, I had in home rehab for a month but I was still unable to walk without the assistance of a walker. In mid-March I contacted Athletico in East Lakeview because it was about one block from my home. They arranged to see me the following day. Justin was assigned to be my personal physical therapist. Given my relative discomfort and lack of progress for one and a half months, I was less than optimistic that I would ever be able to walk normally again. However, under Justin's supervision, I can now walk without the assistance of a walker. I don't even need a cane. At my age, this was no small feat. I found Justin to be very knowledgeable and motivating. There were many times when I thought I couldn't do any more, but he gave me encouragement to try even a bit more, without pushing me too hard. It has taken about seven months, but I am almost amazed with my progress. I wholeheartedly recommend Justin and the rest of the Athletico staff including the front desk & the assistants. Jo D

First off, I still give LSF PT five stars. Their location is great, I enjoy their awesome gym, and the people that work there are great. If you are busy, already a member at this gym, it's a great choice. And thanks to this place, I met Meredith. Meredith was the star who helped me get through some tough nagging injuries - so I felt compelled to state that she moved on from this location. She really went the extra mile and I mean, look at all the reviews she's garnered for this business, that's saying something. If you aren't necessarily set on being inside the gym and want someone with an awesome reputation, look her up. At the end of the day, either LSF or Meredith are great choices and FAR superior to the greedy corporate chain in the greater Chicago area, so I am happy to keep my five star review of LSF PT.
