I found them on Zocdoc and they had good availability. Dr. Donahue was very professional, funny, and got to the bottom of things quickly. I felt so much better after his assessment and treatment. I also really appreciate that after you see the chiropractor, they bring you to one of the physical therapists to get stretches and exercises to help you deal with (and hopefully prevent) the issues from coming back. Katherine at the front desk is perhaps the friendliest office manager I've ever met. She always has a big smile and is so empathetic to every patient. She's quick to respond on things and helpful at working with insurance and scheduling appointments. Very happy to have found such a great provider in Chicago! My neurologist referred me specifically to Imelda and I have been grateful ever since. Shortly after I started PT at PhysioPartners, I began to experience some pain relief. I was given a comprehensive home routine that I followed. I did not ever think I would be relieved of the neck pain and I am glad that I do not have it often. I would not be honest if I said I was completely pain free. I sometimes get flare ups and the vast majority of the time the home exercises help relieve the pain. Imelda is a McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy clinician. I am grateful for her proficiency in this method because it definitely helps my spine conditions. I recently started physical therapy again. The orthopedic specialist I see told me to work with Imelda again for my spine, lower back pain and nerve pain. PT is helping me quite a bit. I was given new exercises to add to my home routine that are helping me improve and strengthen. From the time I walk through the front door to when I leave, I do not feel rushed. My questions are answered. Imelda confirms that I understand my protocol and instructions. The facility is wonderful and has quite a bit of equipment and classes offered if needed. I wanted to discharge myself from the Physician-Patient relationship far sooner in those 6 months, and was fortunate to find one that suits my specialized needs at Howard Brown Health. HER NURSES ARE STRAIGHT UP TERRIBLE. She used to have an AMAZING NURSE/Physician's Assistant by the name of Edgar. His phlebotomy skills were unmatched. He left no bruising on my arm, he could find the vein within seconds to minutes, draw the blood, and I'd be on my way. He was so personable and so nice and I looked forward to having him do my vitals and my testing. And then he was gone.... Six months ago, I went in. There was a nurse that saw me with curly hair and a no nonsense attitude. She did just fine with the initial examination and vitals and all that, but when it came time to draw blood, she had issues finding veins where other nurses had no problem after using enough due diligence. After looking at and sticking a needle in my left arm, closing blinds because the sun was blocking out my veins apparently, and not even taking any look at my right arm, she wanted to draw blood in my hand, which I'm not used to and just did not want, even if it's a normal second option. I did not want this because she said she had to do it to someone before this, and she had not even looked at my right arm. I rejected the hand option and she IMMEDIATELY checked my right arm for 4 seconds before saying, "okay, you're going to Quest" all passive aggressively. I've never had to go to quest. I was livid and did let my frustration show. Dr. Cvengros, to her credit, did do my blood work after, finding my vein in my arm after only 5-10 seconds. But that's just my point...no nurses have had such difficulty with my arm that they had to go to my hand. Had the nurse just done their full due diligence, I have utmost confidence and faith that they would've found it (I trust them and know they know what they're doing so long as they actually try). I had contemplating finding a new Dr., but her appointments were easy Saturdays and I figured this nurse would be short lived. Guess what? Next appointment, no nurse to be found. Just her scrambling to do everyone's vitals, running behind on appointments for an hour or more, and being on her own with maybe her front desk assistant. All her nurses or that nurse specifically called out that day. Either way, that nurse hadn't been seen since, and she was garbage at her job. So the last and final appointment, on January 18th, 2025, had a new nurse. She was decent enough at her job, but had a cold demeanor. She could find my vein fine, but was rough and cold in her approach to her job. So she jammed the blood test needle into my arm just fishing for the vein, but she definitely found it! Only with the added effect of leaving my arm bruised for a week or two. I was just glad she could do her job. Another horrible aspect of this place is they want to double bill/charge you. It's the Chicago medical special. Charge you/your insurance for your appointment with co pay and then charge you/bill you for a telemedicine to "review the results". Doesn't matter if there are any concerning results or if it's all normal. It is standard PROCEDURE at this practice to bill you for a telemedicine results review. And if you refuse/only want to do the one appointment and look at the results on MyQuest? They eventually retaliate against you by discharging you as a patient themselves. I got my letter in the mail, dated February 20th, detailing this because I told them I didn't want to do a telemedicine right away and would schedule in advance because in that instance I did need to go over the results to get a prescription I needed for them. Yep. You heard it right. They lock prescriptions and treatments behind the second telemedicine appointment, despite them knowing you need treatment. Keep in mind most doctors offices only follow up on results by phone, especially if they're normal results. They don't charge insurance and you by proxy via copay just to tell you whether your results are good or not. What this place is doing is extorting their patients as well as insurance by billing extra "telemedicines" that are really just phone calls. It may be totally fine or legal within local or state regulations for telemedicine appointments to do it (I'm not entirely sure but I would imagine or hope they do enough due diligence themselves with these practices), but it is a slimy way to handle patients regardless.

I recently was told that I need a hip replacement surgery. This news sent waves of fear running…read morethrough me. Then I realized why: Years ago, I had an ACL reconstruction by Preston Wolin. It was a traumatic experience. The initial consult was straighforward. My ACL had been completely severed in a sports accident. We scheduled the ACL reconstruction surgery and nothing seemed out of the ordinary....until the day of surgery. Wolin was over an HOUR late to the operating room, where I had been prepped and was lying on the table. He wildly flailed his arms and SCREAMED at everyone in the OR that they had set this or that up wrong. He was in a RAGE. It was terrifying. I feared having someone in such a state operating on me. I had thought to get up and leave but didn't feel I could. After he finished screaming, he leaned over me, grabbed a tourniquet, lowered his face to mine, and stared menacingly into my eyes as he tied the tourniquet SUPER tightly on my leg. THAT is what I experienced as I was being put under. It was like something out of a horror film. I awakened in the recovery room in such intense pain and no one was around. I called out and no one came. My leg was in a constant passive motion machine and I felt like I was being stabbed with each up and down motion. I had been given ZERO pain meds. Wolin had harvested the graft by cutting out the center of my patellar tendon with bone plugs at either end and bolted the plugs into my bones. The nurses said there was nothing they could do for my pain because Wolin had NOT PRESCRIBED PAIN MEDS FOR ME and he had left the hospital! The entire night, I was in unfathomable pain. The hospital ran an EKG on me because I was in such a terrible state. I was supposed to try to get up and walk but absolutely couldn't, I felt as if a knife was stabbing me in the knee. The next day, Wolin BURST into my hospital room by angrily flinging the door open with a nurse by his side. He SCREAMED at me, "I THOUGHT YOU WERE AN ATHLETE! GET UP AND WALK!" I said "I CAN'T!!!!" The nurse unwrapped my knee and GASPED: A drain tube had been erroneously left in my knee. In addition to the pain of the surgery, the drain tube was LITERALLY STABBING ME IN THE SURGERY SITE ALL NIGHT LONG as the constant passive motion machine moved my leg up and down ---- and all of this with NO PAIN MEDS! The nurse removed the tube and I felt instant relief. I got up and took a few steps. I told Wolin to get out of my room and that I never wanted to see him ever again. Unfortunately, as I healed, the way he had placed the thick stainless steel bolt into my tibia was causing excruciating pain. I went to several other surgeons and no one would touch me, stating that they wouldn't operate on anyone who was a patient of Wolin. I therefore had no other option except to go back to him to ask him to remove the bolt. He bellowed, "I'm not going to have a bad result because of YOU!" Then he reached over and pinched the place of the bolt and I almost flew through the ceiling in pain. He grudgingly conceded to take the bolt out. I didn't want to let this man touch me again but I was desperate to get the bolt out since I had been in pain for a year. When I woke up from the bolt removal, I felt instant relief from the pain that his placement of the bolt had caused! Now, after being told I need a hip replacement, I'm reliving the nightmare I had by going to Wolin. Even though it was a long time ago, I decided I should help others by posting an account of my experience. When we are looking for someone to care for our health, it's important to gather information and choose wisely. I'm sure that the doctor I will choose to fix my hip will not be like Wolin, but the nightmarish experience I had with him is having an effect.

I would highly recommend this practice to anyone!!!
