We made an appointment with Dr Pransky to get a second opinion on my daughter's enlarged adenoids. We had visited Radys and they had only spent 5 min with us and then handed me some papers and said my daughter needed surgery. We were uneasy with that response, so I happened to find Dr Pransky through word of mouth when I was calling around trying to find someone that wasn't employed by Radys. Dr Pransky spent an hour with us, gathering all medical history and really explaining to us how everything worked and what was needed and why. He listened to our concerns and answered all of our questions. It came to be that the surgery was needed, but we felt a lot more confident with our decision after spending time with Dr Pransky and also learning about all of his experience. I did a lot of research as well, reading his reviews beforehand and I even asked the other doctors we work with about him-they all said he was fantastic and that we were in good hands. He has a very fun office set up for the kids, and my daughter was completely comfortable with him and actually didn't want to leave. We scheduled the surgery but of course I was still nervous the day of, my daughter is 2 and so little, barely over 20 lbs. I have never had a child have surgery before. Dr Pransky was great, the actual procedure was probably 10 min and everything went so well. I thought he was exaggerating when he said she would be up and playing and eating the minute she got home. 30 min after we took her home, she was already back to her normal self, playing with my other daughter. I wrote this two weeks out to ensure she didn't have any complications. She is doing so well, sleeping through the night, no more runny nose and not breathing out of her mouth. I am so thankful for Dr Pransky and doing what is best for my child and making it such a good experience. Dr. Pransky performed a tonsillectomy on our ~3 year old daughter exactly one week ago. There was a chance for adenoid removal but during surgery, Dr. Pransky determined it was not necessary. We were anxious to write this review the second day post-surgery, but we purposefully waited until today to post this in the event something unexpected were to occur. Her recovery was frankly remarkable. Surgery was performed at 7:30AM and by late-afternoon, she was running around and playing like her normal self. We had to manage her food intake because if it were up to her, she would have had chicken nuggets for dinner. Witnessing this first-hand after all the anxiety build-up was a major relief. Dr. Pranksy was recommended by several medical professionals due our daughter's massive tonsils. My wife and I are extremely cautious parents and any potential medical attention for our family comes with hours of diligence. The man is truly a first-class physician and running a private practice clearly provides him with the autonomy to perform surgeries in a manner that is best for the patient and not per a larger group's policies/ requirements. We are extremely thankful for his attentiveness, care, and execution. Above and Beyond - First off, we were able to make an appointment for only a few days after our initial call, and I know he takes same day appointments for urgent situations. The office is set up to keep kids entertained while we discuss background/issues with the doctor. We saw Dr. Pransky for an ENT evaluation of our 2.5 year old daughter with a pretty severe speech delay. He spent an entire hour at our initial visit learning everything he could about her history, then checked both ears with a microscope (not just an otoscope). She had massive fluid build up and an active infection in one ear. She was on antibiotics, but they clearly weren't working. Dr. Pransky prescribed a new antibiotic and CALLED THE PHARMACY HIMSELF to make sure they had it in stock. We were thinking our daughter might need ear tubes because of how bad the fluid build up looked, but at her follow up appointment a month later, her ears looked great! No ear tubes required at this time. But Dr. Pransky didn't just say "ok you're good, that's it" - he said "let's get a definitive answer on whether or not your daughter is hearing properly." Our next step is an Audiogram and a full developmental assessment - with qualified partners that he recommends. I appreciate the global view of her health and development that Dr. Pransky is taking. Finding answers isn't always straightforward, but he walks you through every step he takes to ensure we get answers to our questions (root cause of speech delay). During an appointment with our one week old son, he was extremely thorough in collecting family history information from my husband and me before coming to a conclusion and took a lot of time to explain his medical opinion. My 5 year old son had strep 5 times within the past year so we were recommended from 2 pediatricians to consult Dr.Pransky. We were able to get an appointment quickly. During the appointment he was very through in asking us details about our son's medical history and gave us all the options and was very patient with all our questions. He performed our son's tonsillectomy and walked us through the entire process of healing and what and what-not to expect. He did call and enquire about his progress and every time we contacted him with questions he alwasys got back within the same day. Dr. Pransky is an incredibly compassionate, kind and attentive person and a wonderfully skilled surgeon. As parents, we are grateful for how patiently and intently Dr Pransky listened to our concerns about our 4yr old son, J. We feel that he went above and beyond to make J feel comfortable at the initial appointment - J was able to immediately trust Dr Pransky and feel safe enough to allow him to use a scope through his nose to see his adenoids without any fear or fuss. She was very available and dedicated to answering our pre-op questions. In the past, my husband and I have had surgeons minimize expected recovery time... So when Dr Pransky explained that the adenoidectomy would be take about 10 mins to perform and that recovery would be immediate, I admit we were skeptical. But, as soon as our son recovered from the anesthesia, he was 100% back to his normal self - eating and playing as if nothing had happened. When we drove past Rady Childrens' Hospital the other day and I mentioned that it was where Dr Pransky removed his adenoids, J exclaimed "Let's do that again!" Dr. Pransky was amazing with my 13 year old daughter. She was in a ton of pain, especially in her ears, and he got her in right away. After our daughter was born a last month, we had some scary episodes where she turned purple and stopped breathing. Fortunately, we were still in the hospital and were transferred to the Rady's Children's NICU within the Scripps Encinitas Hospital. After we were okayed to go home, we followed up with our primary pediatrician, Dr Christine Wood, who emphatically recommended Dr Pransky. His schedule, like any popular restaurant, was booked out a couple of weeks, but boy was he worth the wait. His over 20 years experience and unique "bedside manner" made my wife and I instantly feel at ease and that he had our daughter's best interest at heart. From when he first walked in and asked if we had a blanket we could put her on to make her more comfortable, to how he explained medical items in simple to understand analogies and stories, he turned our anxieties regarding our daughter's condition into something that was easily explainable, treatable and predicted how soon it would eventually go away. My 4 year old son had a horrific, reoccurring ear infection for many months. I battled with Rady's ENT to get him in and they kept putting me off despite the urgency of the referral and our pediatrician fighting for him to be seen. He had terrible leaking puss and nasty crumbling stuff coming out of his ear. Finally we got him in to be seen at the hospital and they gave him an antibiotic and refused to do testing. The infection came back immediately after multiple rounds of antibiotics. And I had to start from scratch to battle to get him to be seen again escalating to the hospital administrators and patient complaint line. After extensive demands to test his the fluid again (against their advice) we discovered that he had a rare mycobacterium infection of unknown origin. Possibly from the ear tubes they put in his ear in the first place, or possibly from infected water getting in through the ear tube. They had no idea how to treat him or what to do and offered us only hospitalization with IV antibiotics which could cause all sorts of collateral damage with an IV port and immune system issues, possibly worse, and a surgery that could cause hearing loss and they believed wouldn't solve the issue. We opted to find every specialist in the world and fought like hell for a few days to learn everything about this condition. That is how we met Dr. Seth Pransky. Dr. Pransky immediately took control of the situation and let me rest while he spent hours of his life researching this type of bacteria. He read every paper published about children around the world who had previously had this. He reached out to world experts about mycobacterium. It was obvious to me this man was in our corner in a way we had not experienced in the hospital system. He developed a relationship with our family and took extensive histories. He developed a path that made sense to us but also allowed us to flex for more serious intervention if needed. We did exactly what he said and in the order he said it. He removed the infected ear tubes and performed a surgery to remove and clean the infection out (he moved mountains to make this surgery possible very quickly). He followed up with us once weekly and let us call him on his cell phone post surgery with any concerns. The final outcome (which was one dire) is that our baby is now almost 6 and totally healed and was able to fight off this nasty bacteria with his own immune system once the foreign body (ear tube) was removed as the host. We avoided months of hospitalization and IV antibiotics, surgery to put in and later again to remove a port for the IV, and all of the horrific side effects of a nasty antibiotic cocktail sent into his body. A year later (today) we had our final follow up and remembered how much he did for our family and how invested he was in the best outcome for our child. We believe in Dr. Pransky and his style of amazing medicine. It was worth every penny and every visit to be with a person who was so invested in our child. He's beyond 5 stars and I will never go anywhere else for our children's ENT need. read more

Our appointment today was scheduled at the Murrieta office for 10:15, and about 9:30, I received a call from his office saying that he was running late due to a surgery, and to come in at 11:00 instead, so I wouldn't be waiting. Never in my life have I had a doctor's office do this! The staff was clearly working their tails off to accommodate everyone in the office. Dr. Pransky was wonderful with my daughter, and asked all of the right questions, and had a great bedside manner with her. We have come across many 'children's doctors' that should not be working with children, but Dr. Pransky was great. I am so glad we were referred to this office. Dr. Rebecca Cherry is the best! She is the most attentive and caring doctor I've ever met. My daughter had been experiencing horrible stomach pains for 4 years. We saw a lot of different doctors and specialists and none of them could figure out the problem or how to help her. Not only was Dr. Cherry able to ease her symptoms with hypnotherapy, but she also helped us quickly determine the actual cause of her symptoms. This doctor strung us along for 17 months with my daughter's lip and tongue tie. She started seeing him at 3 days of age and he dismissed us and said she was "premature" and needed to completely learn how to eat. "Come back in a few months". When all was said and done, all he did was sit on his hands and take my money. Thank god for the amazing practitioner that did see her incredible lip and tongue tie, revised it, but at such a late age of 17 months. He also missed an inner ear malformation in my child that she is not in speech therapy for. Save your money, there is a new pediatric ent at UCSD named Dr Kari. Dr Pransky is a wonderful doctor and no wonder he's the head ENT at RCHSD. He was recommended by our lactation consultant, Robin, at San Diego Breastfeeding Center. His schedule is booked up but Robin helped get us an appointment. :) If you are seeing him for a tongue-tie issue he's the doctor to go to. He met with us and conducted a thorough history and then examined our son. He took the time to discuss benefits/drawbacks/risks of cutting the tongue tie and let my husband and I discuss our decision as long as we wanted to in his office or go home and think about it. We ended up deciding to have it cut and it was the best decision. My son went from barely gaining .5oz per day to gaining 1.5oz per day and the extreme pain and blisters I had disappeared. He's known to be very conservative and isn't a doctor who recommends it for every child which my husband and I valued. I recommend Dr. Pransky to everyone I know having a tongue-tie issue. read more

My husband and I took our 2 daughters to Dr Pransky for 2 very different ENT problems and he was amazing at listening, interacting with our children and explaining the issues. One of our daughters is very complex (developmental, speech and language issues) but also terrified of doctors and she had no problem with how Dr Pransky examined and interacted with her- in fact she said he was "really good" and coming from a child who is terrified of having her blood pressure taken- that says a lot! He had a spot on diagnosis and excellent suggestions for treatment and referrals. He answered all of our questions and was overall nice, honest and knowledgeable. I trust him and that does at all come easily from a parent with a child with developmental delays who has interacted with many physicians in the past 12 years. I'd also like to point out that we have insurance but have had troubles getting into Rady's lately in a timely fashion- it took quite some time for Rady's to process a referral for audiology and basically I didnt want to wait that long to see an ENT provider. I also wanted to ensure we had a sufficient amount of time to discuss the complex issues involved. We were able to pay with FSA/HSA card and the staff explained the insurance reimbursement well. Honestly if there are any extra costs that we pay out of pocket- it will be the best money I have spent in a long time!! read more

In fact, he cleared his schedule the morning after our very first visit to thread a scope down my baby's throat and uncover the reason behind the noisy breathing. When my toddler started pulling on his ear and crying when I put a shirt over his head, I knew we had an ear issue. His pediatrician examined him, but couldn't say for certain if it was an inner or outer ear infection. She said we could give him drops to treat an outer infection, and if we wanted, oral antibiotics to treat an inner. I've never given him antibiotics and unless absolutely necessary, would like to avoid doing so in the future. With that said, my son was in extreme pain with a fever. The pediatrician came back in the room and said Dr. Pransky, an incredible ENT she had known through Rady's, could see my son right away for a full ear exam. We rushed over there and he examined him immediately. Dr. Pransky has the best bedside manner I've ever seen and his staff is excellent. The office is clean and inviting, and there are lots of interactive toys to distract kids. Long story short, Dr. Pransky diagnosed my son with an outer ear infection and saved us from taking an unnecessary oral antibiotic. I highly recommend him. read more

Amazing. As soon as Dr Pransky walks in the office it is so very obvious that he is the chief of otolaryngology at Rady's. He has amazing bedside manner, interacts with my son, and uses plain English when describing medical terms and procedures. Like any concerned parent, I do my fair share of research on any issues my child is having before I even see the doctor. I am always ready to go to battle for my child's health, if need be. But with Dr Pransky, I never have to. He seems to genuinely care about his patients. He carefully listens to my concerns and answers any and all questions. He is so extremely knowledgable and does such a great job explaining his thoughts about my son's apnea that I feel 100% comfortable with his diagnoses and treatment plans. He does a great job explaining risks before surgery and does just as great explaining how the surgery went. It's so nice having a doctor who truly cares about his patients and obviously enjoys his work. I'm so glad our PCP referred us to him! Side note: his office staff and assistant are equally as great. I brought my 4 year old in for a specialty opinion regarding her tonsils and continued sore throat and swollen lymph node. Her primary physician and dentist suggested I do. The doctor was pleasant as we entered the exam room, he asked some questions and examined by daughter. When he was done he said, "well I have some news you're not going to like..... You're daughters tonsils and lymph nodes are just fine"... What did that mean? News i wouldn't like? Did you think I was doing this for FUN? He sat back down at the computer, didn't even say goodbye, basically ignored me even when I said "ok, are we done?" I just walked out. Who treats someone like that????? read more
