Being a person of size (aka, a fat girl), I've had a lot of bad luck with doctors--one doctor I have seen in the past told me to lay off the fast food without ever even asking me about my diet, which I would bet includes more fresh vegetables than his. Dr. Simon doesn't make any assumptions about me and actually looks at my vitals, levels, and overall health performance to gauge whether I am healthy. And he listens to my thoughts on my health and helps me with my own goals. It straight up makes me emotional to get such good health care. 2) Their nurses and office support are also very friendly and competent. 3) I'm never kept waiting for absurd amounts of time. I'm always seen in a very reasonable amount of time and my visits are paced very well. 4) ONLINE PORTAL FOR COMMUNICATION! I can't even stress how awesome this thing is. You get test results, updates to your vitals and health information, and you can !email! if you have health questions that don't require a full-on visit, or if you're not sure if you need to visit. I think you might be able to make appointments through it. It's great. My only downside is their location, but you know what? I'm more than happy to go to Polaris to see Dr. Simon. I'd even go during rush hour if I had to.

One of the nurse's child was yelling loudly and he came over to me and was touching my toddler and i kindly asked him to stop but he ignored me and kept doing it. Then my 7 year old was being checked by a doctor she looked away and at me for just a second and the doctor yelled at her to stop being a bad kid. And my kids are not getting the coronavirus vaccine but the nurse kept trying to bribe my kid with a Princess sticker and was being rude to me because I was shutting it down. And I forgot to mention that in the waiting room they played dance moms and there were so many curse words and I don't want my daughters to be exposed to that. Overall it was an awful place and I am never going back again.

I feel very lucky to have found her to be my son's pediatrician after we moved from California. I had been telling his previous pediatrician and urgent care doctors that we've encountered about his tonsils for YEARS and no one listened to me. I am a nurse myself but more importantly, parents know their kids best. The first time I brought it up to her (after a few visits with documented throat issues) she didn't write off my concerns and sure enough, he had to have his tonsils removed. This is only one example of the care she provides but it meant a lot. She actually listens and cares. I could not recommend her enough!

After the switch, my brother's health improved because Dr. LaMonte actually took the time to listen and address concerns. I can say as a parent, my experiences have been pretty similar. Dr. LaMonte? A saint. 50 stars. He's so kind, the kids love him, he's never made me feel silly for asking questions, he doesn't pressure me into options I'm not comfortable with and instead helps me find alternatives. I live in Worthington but still drive to Hilliard to see him because I like him that much. I sincerely hope he doesn't retire before my youngest turns 18 because I don't know if a replacement doctor could ever live up to the example he's set. The other doctors here though? Not my cup of tea. Most are fine, if impersonal. They'll do in a pinch but I've just come to utilize the urgent care close to me if a kid is sick and Dr. LaMonte isn't available. There's a particular doctor here that I'd sooner take my kids to the ER for an ear infection than to her. But my biggest complaint, and the complaint of everyone I know who also goes there, the desk staff. I don't think I've ever had a pleasant interaction with them if I had to do anything beyond simply check in. Imagine Smaug guarding the Lonely Mountain treasure. Picture McDonald's employees protecting their extra dipping sauces. Monty Python's Black Knight guarding his bridge if you will. This is the vibe I get from the front desk anytime I need a form, or to request an appointment, or to pick up filled out forms, or to ask the doctor a question. Like I don't understand their level of gatekeeping and why the simplest requests turn into some epic tale that'd make George R.R. Martin proud. So the too long;didn't read version is if you can get an appointment with Dr. LaMonte the weird desk staff is worth it even though they're extremely frustrating. I've found it easy to schedule appointments both for sick visits as well as regular check ups. The front desk staff were great with helping with school forms and scripts due to a newly diagnosed severe food allergy. It's easy to get an appointment same or next day if there's a serious issue and their phone support and bluebook and online standard protocols are easy to follow for common issues and things to try before needing to bring them in. They are pretty clear and upfront about their practices vaccination policies and philosophy. If you aren't a traditionalist regarding vaccines you may not be happy here. We're happy and really love the staff and drs.

Today we tried to call to make an appointment but something was wrong with they're phone system. We showed up after the walk in hours. (Great to have btw.) My son was seen after approximately four days of fever, sore throat, diarrhea, and profound fatigue. Importantly, approximately two weeks before this visit, he had experienced three days of significant chills with shivering and teeth chattering. Given the duration and progression of his symptoms, I expected a thorough pediatric evaluation. Instead, the only measurement taken during the visit was his weight. No temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, or oxygen saturation was taken, to my knowledge. No heart, lung, or abdominal examination was performed. The physical examination consisted only of looking at his ears and throat. When Dr. Francis entered the room, she did not introduce herself or begin by asking us about his symptoms. Very little history was obtained, and I felt that the overall evaluation was remarkably limited given the reason for the visit and his recent history. I subsequently spoke with Dr. Francis by phone to express my concerns about the visit. During that conversation, she told me that she had been very busy and that this was why she did not auscultate my son. When I explained my concerns, her response was simply, "I am sorry you feel that way." I did not feel that my concerns were acknowledged or that she took responsibility for the concerns I was raising about my son's evaluation. As a parent, I found this experience extremely concerning. A teenager presenting with several days of fever, diarrhea, sore throat, significant fatigue, and a recent history of several days of intense chills and teeth chattering deserves an appropriate clinical assessment. Being busy should not be a reason for omitting an examination that is clinically appropriate. This was an extremely disappointing experience. Based on this encounter and the way my concerns were handled afterward, I would not recommend this physician to other parents.
