A relaxing meal We began by stopping at the other Peck's, the one with the deli, wine cellar, and the restaurant upstairs. The restaurant was closed, we don't know why. An exceptionally nice employee took the time to give us directions to this Peck's, which is practically just around the corner. We walked in, were greeted, and shown to a table. The place has a clean modern look, the staff professional. Our server was over to give us menus. In the first course section the first item was a risotto, which my wife was happy to see, the second a lasagna, which I was happy to see, and that's what we ordered. My Lasagne Bolognese was excellent, good flavor and smoothness punctuated by the pieces of meat. I even got a sample of the risotto from my wife and we both gave it a thumbs up. I only had one dish and it was pretty solid. It was the paccheri in a basic tomato sauce. It was nice. Pasta was perfectly al dente. The sauce was rich with a sweet, deep tomato flavor, with a very slight spice to it. Otherwise was not very complex, just simple and done well. read more

This was a perfect spot for the casual dinner we wanted. Taking our time and enjoying the outside seating (carefully selecting our table to avoid the always-present smokers), we went through two bottles of white wine, a Barbera d'Alba Peiragal and a Friulano Ronco delle Cime, both regional Italian wines we'll never find on Maui. We ordered a selection of Italian cheeses, of which the pecorino was the best. Plus a plate of sweet culatello di zibello, thin sliced ham similar to prosciutto. Its never available in the US and rare even in Italy, first time for us. Awesome flavor. Plus some warm Italian bread. This restaurant is an offshoot of Peck's Market, Milano's top end grocery and delicacies store just around the corner. No doubt that's why they have such great food. People (and tram) watching, beautiful weather, and only a two block walk back to our hotel. read more

I just had the worst experience ever by going to the Peck bar. I ordered a porcini risotto which -unfortunately figured at my two last bites- was FULL of WORMS. Yes you read correctly, WORMS. When i asked for an explanation the manager came immediately to take my plate and didn' t even let me to take a photo!!!! Then he sent me an employee to tell me that i was right and the worms were from the mushrooms. Can you believe this awful behavior.? And when we asked for the bill they told us that our meal was on the house. Needless to say that i end up throwing up in my hotel room. But everything we ordered was just absolutely delicious - culatello ham with baby artichokes, tagliolini with shaved white truffle and ossobuco with saffron risotto. My wife and I came here for lunch on a Friday. It went from bad to worse. We were seated outside, which was fine. Then two gentlemen were seated next to us and started smoking. Really? What restaurant in this day and age allows unlimited smoking while people are eating? We asked to be moved inside. "Inside" is pleasant, but ordinary. The food was OK, nothing special. My wife had a salad niciose and I had gazpacho and ravioli. They were fine, but the service was terrible! We had to flag our waiter down for every need because otherwise, he would have totally ignored us. And we weren't alone; people were getting angry because it seemed very clear that the place was understaffed in terms of wait staff. Bottom line: maybe all the positive reviews are right and they had an off day. But we saw nothing that made us want to go back. read more

Had a really great meal here: we had the ravioli and lasagna. Both were DELICIOUS! However there was definitely something not quite right about the English translations. The lasagna was described as your typical bolognese lasagna, but you turned to the Italian menu and it had way more details on what exactly the lasagna consisted of, and i definitely wouldn't call it a "typical bigness lasagna". But delicious, so not really a problem. Wine pours are a little light, i found, but they gave us little mini desserts at the end for free (probably left over from the deli and didn't want to throw them away which we were 100% okay with). Stopped here for a quick dinner before the opera (when everything else was still closed). I ordered the meatballs, which were not at all what I expected - tender, flavorful, lightly breaded and fried on a bed of some shredded greens. My husband has the ravioli bolognese, which was also well and uniquely flavored. The staff was great about taking our order and serving us quickly, which was appreciated. I recommend to go here for lunch. Its right near Duomo, which is where you would go for all of your shopping and Peck is a go to after some day activities in this are. Peck is very expensive as its a popular spot and fun to see. After having lunch upstairs, browse the shopping isles and take home a food based souvenir. read more

One of my favorite places to go for an apertivo! They make great drinks and the happy hour food is definitely better quality than the average joe. For dinner, this place can be a bit pricey but delicious pastas and the best cotoletta I've had in Milan! I highly recommend to come after work for drinks!
