Risotto with pork shank and Osobucco

This was our first night I. Milan. This restaurant is not in the tourist part of town. It was amazing. Best food I have had during our two week travel throughout Italy. Food was fresh, very large portions, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was amazing. It was like you steeped into and old brick ceiling building with the old school ambiance of a wine shop. Wait staff was wonderful. Don't come to Milan and miss out on this one.

You MUST try the risotto here. I ordered the Risotto Milanese con Ossobuco and it was the best risotto I've ever had in my life. The Ossobuco was also extremely delicious. They serve huge portions of risotto here - only one of the five of us could finish our servings. We also got the tiramisu dessert, which was delicious. This place was recommended to us by a coworker who lives in Milan. It was very quiet and not busy on a Wednesday evening. We were running late and called to change our reservation, and they very kindly moved it by 30 minutes. The servers are very accommodating to English-speaking tourists.

We decided to try this spot for our last meal in Milan (and Italy overall) and we were not disappointed! We went straight for the risotto and meat pairings - one marrowbone (ossobuco) with saffron risotto and one lamb chops with the red wine risotto. Both were fantastic, but they may have been the best lamb chops I've ever had. All had perfect marbling and flavor and just came right off the bone. The ambiance was also stellar and intimate as well however also gave me a vibe of where some business meetings are conducted. A little pricier than some of the other spots we went too, but food was just as fantastic so can't complain! Really great meal to finish the trip!

Was here cause a really good friend of mine recommended it. So decided ti give this place a shot. Ambiance really quiet and chic on the inside, giving a nice relaxing environment, really good to unwind and dig in some good food and wine that this place offers. The pumpkin flan for appetizer was the most delicious appetizer i've ever had anywhere in Italy, something really unique and sophisticated on the palate. Both of the rice we ordered were to die for, really interesting and delicious rice combos. I'd really give this place a 10 out of 10. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Recommend it to all.

    Great service and ambiance!

My wife and I had great meals over the past…read more2 weeks in Italy and for our final dinner in Milan we chose San Mina based on Yelp reviews. And we were not disappointed! The food was simple and delicious - we started with a Caprese salad, very nice, followed by bread that was super fresh and a heartier flavor than we had at other restaurants. For entrees we decided on seafood after so many pasta and pizza meals - we tried their grilled tuna and grilled swordfish, and both were outstanding. The tuna had a nice salt/subtle seasoning and was prepared perfectly, seared on the outside and rare on the inside. My wife's swordfish was also nicely prepared, and the portion was huge - twice the amount she expected (see photos)! And the generous portion of veggies were tasty. For dessert my wife had tiramisu and said it was among the best she had on our entire trip (and she had many!). I had a wonderful pistachio dessert with almonds on the outside that was great (forgot the name), but highly recommend it. Service was professional and prompt (no hovering, a pet peeve). As we ate, the restaurant filled with locals who all seemed to know the staff personally, creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere with a nice family feel. We walked to the restaurant so I can't comment on parking, but the neighborhood was clean and the restaurant exterior is well-lit. So, if you like excellent food at reasonable prices with great service, try San Mina!

The menu was very limited, mainly consisting of plates of food which consisted of many items, I don't like this approach as it meant that if you were not too hungry, and just wanted a sandwich, you had to order a whole tray of food, including drinks, the food is priced reasonable, but considering you are unable to order the items individually, it does work out a little pricey if you're not interested in ordering the whole "brunch". I was told they would be unable to make individual items or modify toppings. The seating was limited, and due to being busy, I was placed in the outdoor seating area, which was in a rather uncomfortable garden chair, on a street in a residential area, so it wasn't the most welcoming area either. I went for the American brunch, which came to 22€. Again, I was disappointed with the quality of my food and drink, the orange juice tasted cheap and watered down, while the bread also was poor, even for gluten-free bread, it didn't hold together and fell apart in my hands while I tried to eat my sandwich, which you wouldn't expect from a specialist bakery. The staff seemed friendly enough, and with our basic knowledge of each other's languages, they seemed to try their best to help, with me using a Translate app, It wasn't the waitress's fault for the inability to modify dishes, she seemed to be trying to do her best to help when the kitchen wouldn't budge. The potatoes were greasy, and I didn't understand why they would include watermelon on the same plate. The desserts were just okay, my guest ended up enjoying hers, and my pistachio-based cupcake (I'm not sure of the exact name) was moist and did taste quite good, perhaps they should go back to the basics and stick to the desserts. 2*
