And we were not disappointed! The food was simple and delicious - we started with a Caprese salad, very nice, followed by bread that was super fresh and a heartier flavor than we had at other restaurants. For entrees we decided on seafood after so many pasta and pizza meals - we tried their grilled tuna and grilled swordfish, and both were outstanding. The tuna had a nice salt/subtle seasoning and was prepared perfectly, seared on the outside and rare on the inside. My wife's swordfish was also nicely prepared, and the portion was huge - twice the amount she expected (see photos)! And the generous portion of veggies were tasty. For dessert my wife had tiramisu and said it was among the best she had on our entire trip (and she had many!). I had a wonderful pistachio dessert with almonds on the outside that was great (forgot the name), but highly recommend it. Service was professional and prompt (no hovering, a pet peeve). As we ate, the restaurant filled with locals who all seemed to know the staff personally, creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere with a nice family feel. The menu was very limited, mainly consisting of plates of food which consisted of many items, I don't like this approach as it meant that if you were not too hungry, and just wanted a sandwich, you had to order a whole tray of food, including drinks, the food is priced reasonable, but considering you are unable to order the items individually, it does work out a little pricey if you're not interested in ordering the whole "brunch". I was told they would be unable to make individual items or modify toppings. The seating was limited, and due to being busy, I was placed in the outdoor seating area, which was in a rather uncomfortable garden chair, on a street in a residential area, so it wasn't the most welcoming area either. I went for the American brunch, which came to 22€. Again, I was disappointed with the quality of my food and drink, the orange juice tasted cheap and watered down, while the bread also was poor, even for gluten-free bread, it didn't hold together and fell apart in my hands while I tried to eat my sandwich, which you wouldn't expect from a specialist bakery. The staff seemed friendly enough, and with our basic knowledge of each other's languages, they seemed to try their best to help, with me using a Translate app, It wasn't the waitress's fault for the inability to modify dishes, she seemed to be trying to do her best to help when the kitchen wouldn't budge. The potatoes were greasy, and I didn't understand why they would include watermelon on the same plate. At the recommendation of another guest. They also suggested, if you like spice, to try the chili pepper infused olive oil. So glad we did! The risotto was perfectly cooked, very creamy with an abundance of fresh mushrooms. We topped with a drizzle of the spicy olive oil. And man that's got a bite! So good. For dinner I had the meat lasagna and my husband had a pasta with sausage. Both were very good. Mine was a large serving, filled with delicious pasta, cheese and sauce. My husband had a smaller pasta noodle, and the sauce was different than the red sauce on my lasagna. It was delicious!! We enjoyed our meals. And we even were able to purchase a jar of the spicy olive oil! Service was very friendly and attentive. If we make it back to Milan, we will come back.
