Bunker of cheese at Peck in Milano IT
    Bruce K.

I visited Peck and only the gourmet deli market part of the shop. Pointed out by my tour guide, I returned later and picked up a small bit of cheese and some crackers to have as a snack in the hotel room. Easy enough to understand the prices and find something small enough to make as a snack, the shop has all sorts of tasty goodies including cheeses and meats and savories and yes, lots of sweets. The young lady who rang up my sale might not have understood English, but that's not important when all you need to do is insert a credit card. Good stuff and an easy shop. Peck is an institution in Milan, a very high end "rosticceria" where you can find everything from meat to ready to eat food to fresh pasta to prosciutti to bread and pastries. There is even a small stand for fresh fruits and veggies. On the second floor there is as bar were you can sit down and enjoy coffee, pastries or lunch. Everything here is top quality, you can't go wrong. Today we got some ricotta and spinach ravioli, which we made with browned butter, sage (fried crispy in the butter), and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Absolutely spectacular. Then we got some vitello tonnato, a classic northern style cold dish made of thinly sliced veal covered in a tuna/mayo sauce. Absolutely outstanding. Exactly like my mom used to make, very rare to find such a good vitello tonnato outside home. It's a bit pricey but it's expected, you should not go if you are on a budget... The ordering system is quite messy and old fashioned, there is no line, everybody has to keep track of who was first, they only shout "next". A numbering system would help, especially tourists out foreigners. Also, they give you a weird card, that you should bring around the various sections, if you're buying from many places, and then you go to the cashier. Once you'be paid, you go back to each station with the receipt to get your stuff. Very inconvenient and counterintuitive. Despite this, it's a 5* in my book, quality wins.

HEAVEN. I was drooling over everything sold here. Nothing but high quality food and wine, they have gourmet everything. Had a lovely picnic and came here to buy snacks and wine. Bought bread, paté, robiola cheese, funghi, seafood and of course wine- it was all delicious! Must come here when in Milan, just a MUST.

What a place, everything looks so beautiful and good, prices are a little steep but they are presented very well and also tastes very good.

This reminds me of Eataly. A market place where you can purchase food and grocery items, bread, dessert, fresh pasta to go or dine in. We choose to dine in one afternoon. Bread was served fresh to each table. Great drink selection & a very large menu. Staff was very nice and inviting. Made recommendations on menu items and made it an overall great time. Highly recommend this location whether you're hungry or just want to shop

We visited this place during our layover. The restaurant was located on the second floor. There was a food shop on the first floor, where you can buy dessert, cold cuts, tea, pasta and other delicious items. There was also a school like area. Because of it was raining outside, we decided to have brunch here. It costed 60 euro per person, which was very pricy. Food was very good. You can definitely sample a good selection of items that they offer from downstairs. The staff were very welcoming and professional. Definitely expect to spend more than 2 hours at this place to try everything.

    A given!

My first stop when visiting Milan, drop luggage, shower and walk to Peck and eat then repeat. The cafe within is delightful with the freshest ingredients imaginable! After eating then fill the apartment pantry with fresh fruit, nuts, pastries and every nibble you might ever dream of! Just a culinary delight! Go and enjoy.

The most beautiful, upscale food emporium in Milano. Just off the Piazza al Duomo, the store is on a small street Via Speronari. The windows will make you drool immediately. The counters are organized by type of food and these are displayed as if they are jewels. I was amazed by the prepared dishes with seafood and vegetables. The colors are so bright and everything is picturesque. If you are looking to impress guests or a potential significant other with a meal in your home, you cannot go wrong with food from Peck. Just be sure you have a large balance in the bank to cover the costs.

Located on a side street about a minute walk from the Duomo, Peck is a good place to stop by to see and shop the various gourmet food and wine as well as dine at the restaurant upstairs. The wine selection is in the basement. The ground floor has the retail section with desserts, deli, meats, etc. The upstairs restaurant is popular with the locals as well as the tourists. The lighting is a bit too bright for my taste since it sorta reflects off the white table cloth, but a lot of businessmen are there so it's a good place for office luncheons. There's also free wifi; my waiter brought me the passcode without me asking. I had a delicious house made pasta with pork sausage that the waiter recommended for lunch. The wait staff are friendly and speak English. The bread basket is nothing special, but the pasta is delicious. It came out piping hot, and the pasta was cooked al dente just the way I like it! I didn't have dessert, but they have a cart that they push to your table so you can see which one you like. I also took awhile after finishing my meal to sip on the sparkling water since I had a whole bottle. I like that the waiter didn't rush me. Overall, a yummy, non-tourist trap restaurant conveniently located in the touristy Duomo area.

Bread plate comes complimentary - the little crackers are wonderful!

Came here for lunch on a rec with regards to great risotto on the 2nd floor ( restaurant level) Was immediately given table with bread and a small, light tomato gazpacho (which was delicious!). opted for the Risotto Milanese and a plate of Spinach Raviolo. Ordered a glass of wine to go with the meal and can say it was outstanding. Ravioli was light not to thick and full of flavor, while risotto was unbelievable. Would highly recommend if you're in the Duomo area.

Thanks Yelpies for the nice photos. We opted to sit at the patio by the street. They made it little better by putting a facade between the street and the sidewalk. No smokers but that didn't last long. In Italy, outside seating means someone will be smoking next to you. Guaranteed. When we got here, thr waiter started shaking his head when I said no reservation. After conferring with another waiter, we got seated and things started rolling. Bread was brought out and asked for bottled water. To my surprise, cuperto was free and Pellagrino was only €3.50 Chilled vino bianco was delicious with the two items we shared. I got the grilled octopus served on top of the mashed potatoes. (POLPO CROCCANTE Purè, pomodorini semi dry, paté di olive nere) It was a large serving and grilled to perfection. The fish soup (ZUPPA DI PESCE Pomodoro, calamari, polipetti, seppie, gamberi, cozze, vongole, crostini di pane) had flavor that I wasn't use to. Salty, thick soup base? Definitely better to dip with scarpetta. Wasn't happy that one clam and one mussels didn't open up. Our waiter were on top of everything till we were ready to go. Guy next to us rolled a cigarette and started smoking and I was ready to roll out of there. Took while to get the bill after repeatedly asking for it. Overall, we only scratched the surface and love to come back and spend exploring other items like raw fish platers. Inside!

Good: staff super friendly, accommodating; crispy octopus - easily one of the best octopus dishes…read moreI've ever tried Not so good: the marinated anchovies appetizer is a half-opened tin of anchovies, a few pads of butter, and triangles of white toast, and it's 21EUR; when it arrived, it almost felt like someone was pranking me. It made me feel bad that I was spending so much money on a tin of anchovies. I ate it and didn't complain as that's not in my nature. Charging this much for someone to crack open a tin of fish is wild. It's such a shame about the anchovies, but the crispy octopus was good. Be forewarned when you see "marinated anchovies" on the menu, and just know you're just getting a cracked open tin of anchovies.
