My hands shake, when it gets colder, it shakes worse. I used to wear cut off gloves to this game because they kept my hands warm and decreased my shaking and a dealer said he wanted to give me a cup of soup , implying that I guess I look like a homeless person, which is probably true. I wasn't insulted by the comment. It was just insensitive, and I knew he meant no harm by it it. When possible, I sit in the 1 or the 9 seat which is closest to the dealer. I sat in the ninth seat most recently, and I would say fold instead of pushing my cards and the cards are literally next to the dealer and I guess she didn't like that too much because she said something smart about it along the lines of " I guess I'll fold your hand for you. "I said I have a condition that makes my hand shake. It's easier if I just say fold To which she replied, you're not getting any sympathy from me. Nobody wants sympathy. A little empathy would be considerate. It sucks having a disability. It sucks even more that you have to explain yourself. Some of the staff can use some disability sensitivity training. On a good note, All the managers here are really cool and professional. When I asked to exchange my chips to lessen my stack, they help me put it together and of course I always tip. I know my condition can sometimes slow the game down so I tip generously and I am considerate at making fast decisions.

The players here were of different skill levels and friendly. Since it was my first in person game, I was used to playing online poker where everything was automated and so I thank everyone on my table for reminding me when to post my blinds and ante. The dealers where terrific and friendly as well. I was not too far from the the bubble too. Also they have unlimited sodas. Monthly membership rates are reasonable too.

They recently remodeled and moved tables around. I went to where my new table assignment used to be to learn it was now in another room. I cut through the bathroom instead of walking through the entire establishment as you are supposed to go directly to your next table. I was informed shortly after that going through the bathroom with tournament chips was not allowed due to camera issues. They pulled my chips and disq me from the tournament. This rule is not posted in any rules, on any forms, nor is there ANY signage stating no tournament chips beyond this point (bathroom). I was also informed I was not the first player they did this to. if this is such a major issue, WHY NO SIGNS???? I won't return for a while. There are other clubs that others are moving to as well that has their acts together.

I got the Jazz Punch which was sweet and strong. They have a few snacks available but no food. A nearby table brought in food, but you'll want to check with them on their policy. Listened to music for a little over an hour and then we were on our way. I think the venue is pretty good and your experience is going to vary quite a bit on how much you like the musician.

Across the way was the bar and dining. It was a little past midnight and we went to get a birthday celebration drink for my birthday. The bartender said they were closed. My best friend asked when did they close and she wanted to get my birthday drink. Our bartender was beyond kind. Left and head up to our room. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable! Hotel beds tend to be meh, not this location! When we were checking out, we asked if they would hold our suitcases for an hour or two and without hesitation, they were happy to help. My two disappointments were: 1. Trying to find and drop off from the car is a hassle, even at midnight. We weren't offered any service when getting out of the car. 2. The up deck were the fitness and pool floor. The pool is extremely small, should be no more than 20 people max. The view from outside is beautiful.

It was pretty much what you expect you picture something in the Holiday Inn/La Quinta tier. I tend to bring my own pillows when I don't have to fly. I'm glad i did, because each bed had 2 very small, horrible looking pillows. Crisis averted there. We had a first floor room with a "balcony" that was essentially a shared backyard that led to the pool. We didn't have swimsuits so we didn't partake, but the pool looked like what you'd imagine it to be. Need a cheap hotel with free parking that's only a few minutes from downtown? The Wyndham is your spot.

The staff was friendly, helpful and very efficient at checking our large group into our rooms. The hotel and our room was clean, and our requests for different pillows and a microwave were filled quickly. The hotel had great energy to celebrate both teams that were going to play that weekend and decorated the lobby/ bar area with balloons and other decorations for some pre-game drinks and food. Patrick (who I believe was a hospitality manager) provided us with excellent service going above and beyond our expectations. His staff was also so efficient seeing that any need by guests were met quickly and with satisfaction. We were also impressed that our room was cleaned and new towels were placed in the bathroom the night before we were to check out. We felt that with just one more night the towels we had not used were sufficient but loved the service we received. Would highly recommend staying here,

Everything we wanted to do downtown was within walking distance, and we felt safe walking around the area. The staff was friendly, our room was nice, and we were on the 13th floor overlooking the grand lobby, which was a nice touch. There were a couple of things that could have been better. The pillows weren't the most comfortable, and one day our room wasn't cleaned at all. After being out all day, it was disappointing to come back to that. We had to go down to the front desk to ask for fresh towels and to have our trash taken out. I also wish the staff had been a little more apologetic about the room not being cleaned. Housekeeping was running late the following day as well, which was frustrating. Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay. The location is hard to beat if you're visiting Austin, and having a bar and restaurant right in the hotel is convenient for grabbing a drink or a late-night bite. With more consistent housekeeping, the experience would have been even better!
