I love the Omni Austin Hotel Downtown. I used work right across the street and come here for breakfast frequently. Recently the hotel has been partnering with local run clubs in the Austin area to put on running events for the community. For the Feel Good Friday event, was a free community event to promote wellness, flavor and fun. There was a DJ on site. The hotel put together an amazing spread of healthy food options. There were a variety of protein snacks and I tried all of them and they were very delicious and healthy. They had veggies with dip and fresh fruit and smoothy options. They also had an open bar with cocktails and non alcoholic versions. They hosted many vendors with various products that are useful or beneficial to runners. The Dip and Dash event was also hosted by the Omni and it was a 3 mile social run followed by a pool party. They had DJs on site playing music and also had ASICS for shoe demo test. After the run, there was a pool party upstairs where we got to relax and enjoy the outdoor pool with an amazing view. They had tons of healthy snack and drink options and also had vendors on site. Outside they had a cold plunge in the back of a cyber truck! I really appreciate the Omni hosting these events and connecting with the running community. read more

It was a beautiful rooftop re-grand opening for Cloud Bar Sunset Soiree. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink, and the ladies were so sweet and kind that they were excited for us to try everything they were serving. I love to find a beautiful rooftop with a view, especially a Sunset view! It's so beautiful! The only thing is, I wish the view was from the other side, more of beautiful downtown Austin. The rooftop is not a large area but perfect for small events or just to hang out by the pool. The Gulf ceviche was so flavorful and delicious The Muhammara was by far my favorite with pomegranate in the hummus. YUMM! For the drinks can never go wrong with a Bee's Knees it's always delicious and the bartender did his thang My friend tried the Pit Mule he said it had a proper balance he really enjoyed the flavor peach/ ginger ale was a good mix. The service was great and fast as well. The management was making sure everyone was happy and that if anyone needed anything. Make sure to check out this rooftop bar before summer ends! read more

I enjoyed my stay here. The room was very comfortable, and hotel staff were very responsive to requests. The hotel restaurant/bar, Capital A, fits well with the atmosphere. The location in downtown Austin also makes it very easy to walk to so many places very easily, or to take a quick rideshare somewhere. The Omni stays in touch with you throughout your stay via text. Any text reply you make will be responded to under 5 minutes. The pool is small and on the roof. If you aren't on the 17th-20th floors, you must exit on the 16th and walk up the stairs to access it. There is seating in the bar area, lounge chairs in an open area, and some lounge chairs in a semi-covered area. All this said, my room was not cleaned at all while I was there. My trash was overflowing. I only got clean towels because I texted the hotel requesting them. Friends who were also at the hotel commented that their rooms also weren't getting cleaned. Perhaps there is a staffing problem? I didn't pay the rate I paid to have a dirty room for 3 days. Also, this is a quality hotel, right? Then why do they have single-ply toilet paper? Seriously? Even mid-range hotels often offer double ply. There shouldn't be toilet paper you'd find in a fast-food restaurant in the bathrooms at the Omni. That's just cheap. Also, parking is extremely expensive, but it's all about location and convenience. I found that parking at a garage a few blocks away saved me over $75. read more

(4.5 stars) My homebase for a multi-day business trip, the Omni was large, sleek, and spacious: lots of floors and lots of glass. My room was clean and comfortable. The location - walkable to plenty and near several bus stops - is hard to beat. Check-in and check-out were both easy and convenient. While this didn't affect me, those driving in should be forewarned that the Omni charges a fortune ($60) for overnight parking. Due to the hotel's size and location, you can also expect a bit of noise every now and then. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here. If you have the coin for it, the Omni promises a fairly pleasant experience. read more

Went here for news years eve. Cost about $190 for a GA ticket. Free drinks for four hours starting at 9, 3 bars, and two DJs with dance floors. We had a blast. First time doing something like this and it was extremely memorable. Thanks OMNI!! read more

New Years was not well done. Zero seats! Not one! The food sucked... I mean the hot salsa guacamole. Lots of cops. Felt like a herd of cattle. Drinks were ok but the ice was abundant. Music was ok. Just a crummy feeling. No one announce midnight and no champagne was handed out... on your own. Masculine money maker for the Omni... lacked the feminine appeal. Like chairs for sore heeled feet. Dance floor was carpet in the "good" music room.... No fans... very hot... when I sat in the only available seats I was kicked out by security because... idk? Not even a balloon drop?!!! Nice hotel! Cool architecture inside. The building looks to be half offices on one side, half hotel on the other, glass on the interior. More unique than a Marriot for sure which was nice. The rooms were cute as well, and the showers were great as were the products provided in the room. The restaurant left a little to be desired, but the coffee shop and gift shop are both great. Nice employees! Great cleaning staff. We were in town for a conference and it's a little walk to the convention center but in a walkable area. Beds comfy. I would recommend. read more

Hello I am a part of the Austin Public library's group in attendance at the Texas Library Association conference. I have had issues with your Dallas property. When I checked in, I gave my personal credit card to cover incidentals as per norm. I was then told by the desk clerk she had charged my card for three rooms. We had these three rooms reserved and paid in advance from the City of Austin. The desk clerk Sidney was very kind but her drone of a supervisor whose name I did not get told us they have to have a physical card to charge. This woman was rude and told me I should have read the small print. You need to be more cognizant of who you allow to work with the public. This is outrageous we live in a digital world, but you are telling me a physical credit card has to be delivered upon arrival. We have been attending this conference all over the state of Texas and never not once have had this issue. My group was exhausted from the drive we came in from Austin. I was told we could not access the rooms unless I allowed them all to be put on my credit card. I acquiesced my group did not have a credit card that could handle 3000 dollars. When I checked my statement, I was not only charged for the three rooms but Hannah Terrell the library directors' room as well. It is my understanding that the library director will take her physical corporate card and straighten this mess out. I am appalled that in 2025 you have not figured this out. I would like compensation for the hit on my credit (5000 impulse spend) and the mental stress this situation has put upon me. I am very active online yelp, Instagram, Substack, BlueSky and google reviews and have followers on all these accounts as well as word of mouth. You will lose business over this. Not even counting the hundreds of librarians I will be speaking to on this trip or the hundreds of city of Austin employees that will no longer be using your services. In addition to this I just found out it takes 10-12 days for the charge to drop off my credit card at 12.9 percent could cost me over 600 dollars. I am hoping this is not how it works but who knows at this point. Comping my room will not do it since this is a business trip and it would be the city of Austin that reaps that reward. At this point I am just angry but willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and an opportunity to make this right. read more

This hotel is wonderful. The valet was ready to take my car and the young man in the lobby came out with a cart and got all my and Lucciano's bags from the trunk. Check in was quick and my bags were taken to my room. This is a busy hotel that shares space on the other side with businesses. The lounge was open and friendly. I have Premier club access, which is restricted access to a private lounge with a great view, so I was able to have some great appetizers and an awesome cocktail- now I have been to some high end bars and the Old Fashioned that was prepared for me was excellent. The appetizers were high end as well- perfect for low carb eating. The chicken and steak shish kebabs were outstanding and the crudités were artfully arranged as well. Around 7 P.M., housekeeping showed up to turn down the bed and had a bag of ice and a huge chocolate bar! Very nice. At 3:00 A.M., Luciano had to go potty, so I put on my gym clothes and a bathrobe and took him downstairs. He is beginning to know his way to his favorite tree spot outside! The young man at the valet desk got him a baggie of dog biscuits and a little toy. I asked the young lady at the front desk where could I get hot water for tea and she said she would get me some! She came out in moments with a lidded cup of hot water. What excellent service! There is a complete hot breakfast served daily in the restricted access premier club; I bet it is just as spectacular as their cocktail hour! read more

Hotel is nice, clean, good breakfast and good drinks. My problem is they send someone by at 8am to knock on the door and open it to check to see if you're gone. If I was gone I would check out and most likely if I shut your bar down at midnight I most likely am not gone at 8am. If you are going to do that tell people. Have some respect for your customer. That is a corporate decision to make that "wake them up and get them out" but you lost my business out of the amount of disrespect. When you put your staff in an awkward spot because yes they know it's a daily thing that they are required to do it shows you don't give a crap about your customers and just about money. A nicely renovated and clean hotel overall. Excellent lighting in the bathroom, a big plus for doing your makeup. Good coffee and fresh orange juice from the coffee shop downstairs, and the one gluten free option, a blueberry muffin, was decent. We had a nice stay overall but the one thing I can't get past and the reason we won't be back is the lack of free WiFi. I can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel anywhere in the US that didn't offer free WiFi, including other Omni properties. This felt extra ironic considering they advertise being a great place to work remotely from (which we did for one day, hot spotting from our phone). Although you can sign up for Omni loyalty and supposedly get free WiFi, my husband and I both tried signing up repeatedly and it crashed every time. As a registered hotel guest, you should be able to easily access free WiFi from your room, or at a minimum from common areas. Ultimately, we won't be back here as a lack of WiFi included with your stay is a dealbreaker. read more

This is my husband and I second stay here. Last time we had a bigger 2-room with balcony. This time, we just asked for balcony, and boy, was room a lot smaller. It was very odd layout with bathroom directly to right with toilet, shower, and sink. Even with it's triangular shape, it is hard to fit 2 people in there at same time! LOL. And, we notice the toilet was constantly running, and hard to flush (we told front desk upon check out). You walked past bathroom to bed, desk, and small chest with TV upon it. Did not found out until later, that you had open one of the drawers to find coffee maker and cups to use. At night time, just know you ARE close to 6th street and even with thick door or window, you will here it! After dinner, we came back down the lounge and wanted a couple of drinks. Manuel was our bartender for the night. I told him I was drinking "old fashioned' most of the night. He asked if I would like to try some thing new, and we did. OMG, I am glad I did! I will makes these during out HOT summers out here! I started with Johnny Walker black, lemon juice, pineapple, blood orange and orange licqor, and top with ginger ale. Then, he made it pretty with orange peel bird :) ! Manuel...you are a GENIUS! Tell them to put this on their menu! Sooo good! My husband and I had 3 each! The next morning, we had a great breakfast in the lounge next to bar. Limited menu, but food we very good. My husband called down to get valet car. $65 to park overnight...and everybody and brother wanted to get out at same time! It was INSANE! Just know, you will have wait awhile after you call. If you stay here, definitely don't do the balcony room. They aren't renovated yet. Much smaller than the regular rooms. We expressed our disappointment and the desk clerk was going to move us until he saw we booked thru Expedia. I showed him pictures of our tired old room and asked him to show me on their website a similar room. He said he couldn't. Beat up furniture, a balcony that's 4' x5' . no room even for a table and chair? Carpet that is torn and frayed. Stains on the lampshade, and scratches on the furniture. I asked to downgrade. They said I would have to call Expedia? I worked in a larger chain in college. Calling Bull! I did call Expedia- showed them the pics and they tried calling multiple times and never answered? I have nothing but good things to say about the Omni. The service is stellar even before checking in. They were communicating with me weeks prior to our arrival and granted my request to get two queen beds without any hassle. Check in was easy and fast. Our room was basic elevated but everything we needed was there. There is a nice coffee breakfast spot downstairs that I recommend. The service from all the workers was excellent with even the valet guys going out of their way to open our doors. This is not the hotels fault but I do have to mention that this hotel is very close to a homeless shelter. I would recommend that if you are going to walk to left instead of right out of the premises. read more

Stayed this past weekend 5-8-25. We went for my sister's birthday and had a wonderful time! The hotel was clean, close to everything, and really welcoming. The staff was the best part! At the bar Cameron welcomed us and helped us surprise my sister with a slice of cake with candles! It was a wonderful surprise to have her walk into on her actual birthday! We stayed on the Club Level at the Omni Downtown Austin, which was fully renovated in 2020-2021 and the lobby in 2022. It's a beautiful, modern update while maintaining a 1980s nostalgia. The hotel was built in 1984 on the location of the original residence of President Mirabeau Lamar, President of the Republic of Texas in 1839. One of the perks of staying on the club level at the Omni Downtown Austin is access to the lounge for inclusive breakfast, rotating snacks, coffee/ tea, and full service happy hour with a nice selection of charcuterie and other small bites. Not to mention, the quiet space to get a little bit of work done. The service was fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay here. read more

I'm not sure where the low reviews come from. We came to celebrate a bachelorette. I highly recommend getting on the 14th floor, the free breakfast and happy hour drinks and snacks were worth it! The pool is small, but it's nice. On a Thursday, there was no service at the pool. The bathroom for the pool is downstairs, so you have to walk down to get to it. It's really about where do I start!... I was really surprised of the experience based on the super high reviews this hotel has in Google! My recommendation: look at reviews also in Yelp and TripAdvisor before you make the call! Short story: terrible room climate controls, most uncomfortable beds, funky odor in bathroom! Long story: We arrived on of the super cold days which is not usual in Austin so once we entered our room, that the staff mentioned was an upgrade (we never asked for but they were kind to offer). The room was FREEZING COLD! we kept bumping the thermostat but the air from the vent was chilly. We called, technician came in, said the room is actually at 64, made sense, said they fixed the issue and it should be ok now! The room stayed FREEZING COLD, we called again, they changed our room and said it should be ok now! It was NOT! This time we asked for a portable heater, they gave us 2 blankets! We slept with our warmest clothes and in survival mode! Next day, we went down, again complained about the terrible experience, they then said: the boilers are malfunctioning on that end of the building which make me ANGRY that they knew and still put people in those rooms!!!! Anyways we moved again to another room that was "renovated " but 1/2 the size! The bathroom smelled like the pipes were rotten or something, and don't get me started on the bed! We both have back pain from the uncomfortable mattress that we had to take pills and we travel a-lot and have slept on many beds! They finally gave waived our valet for the entire stay (which we has to ask for) so all and all, of the worst stays ever just based on the hotel! Really disappointed! Arrived late Sunday night. My room is on the 18th floor facing the far corner nearest 6th street. Don't take this room if noise bothers you. I could hear 6th street in full swing as I was headed to bed but I kinda loved it. All my drapes are open to see the sparkly lights. The sliding doors to the balcony would be too if it wasn't 40 degrees outside. It's a beautiful hotel with very pleasant service. My room is stupid beautiful. I'm hotel snob and super happy here. I recently traveled here with 10 other girls for my bachelorette. We had a good time and I think it could've been a 4 star hotel had it not been for their current renovations. GLOWS: - Great location. - Comfortable rooms. The girls got me a suite on the 18th floor and it was quite lux and comfortable. Big living room for all of us to gather. One of the most comfortable beds I've slept in. Big bathroom for multiple people to get ready in. Comfy robes to lounge in. TV Channels were OK. GROWS: - Renovations definitely made this place not as shiny as it could be. The lobby was a mess. - The elevator situation was annoying - only one elevator went to floors 15-19 so it was a pain waiting for that one to come slowly and people had issues calling the elevator on other floors. - Food is nonexistent almost. If you don't catch pre arranged room service in time, you're out of luck if you want food. - Food is nonexistent almost. What a trip of a hotel! One arrival, I was confused, as the hotel itself is merged with a ton of smaller businesses. While it looked promising from the outside, it definitely did not deliver fully on the inside. Check in was a breeze and the location is pretty central an easy 5-10 minute walk to downtown where I was attending a conference. Breakfast is located on the second floor, but I ended up skipping it as it was well overpriced and quite honestly there are better options nearby at various restaurants. The room itself I had mixed feelings about, while being quite large, parts of it felt very aged as if it had been last renovated over 20 years ago. The bathroom was quite nice and the view was spectacular, but the biggest complaint had to be the bed which you ended up feeling like a taco at the end of the night (Queue back pain). I might as well add also a huge perk was the great AC, kept my room cool all night, especially when visiting Austin in September! So really to the point, I felt like it was a middle of the road stay, one that I spent over $300 a night for. I could of spent a little more and stayed at a much nicer hotel which would of been closer to downtown honestly. If I had a limited choice again, I would not mind the Omni, but I'd stay elsewhere next time. read more

I have explored all the hotels downtown Austin except the Omni Downtown, so this was the day to explore the hotel lobby. I walked up from 6th Street and found the doors locked. It turned out I had to walk around the building to enter. I noticed it was actually two buildings connected by a square glass atrium. I finally walked into the right doors to find a very large indoor space. Omni hotels always have that luxurious feel and this location was no different. I decided to walk around noticing people checking out at the registration desk since it was very early in the morning. There was nice seating all around with guest drinking coffee and eating breakfast tacos. I found a coffee stand serving fresh Peet's Coffee and selling breakfast tacos. I only got a coffee and found a place to sit. There was a bar which was not open yet with table seating but found a comfy couch. In looking around the place had a nice decor and watch the elevator go up 200 feet to the top of the glass atrium. The place is very bright due to the natural sunlight. I could see the hotel internal architecture where on one side was an office building and the other the Omni Hotel. It felt so open in here and relaxing. I saw a small gift shop in the lobby to purchase items you forgot at home. I stayed about 30 minutes until headed to my conference, but will remember to return to this nice hotel either to grab a breakfast taco or drink at the bar. read more

Stayed here for a long weekend during Austin City Limits and had no problems. I booked through a third party and called a few days prior and was told the room had been cancelled. After some back and forth, the third party website resolved the issue but it was never clear to me how it happened. Either way, I was relieved that there were no issues when I ultimately checked in. Room was spacious, staff was all very friendly. There is a coffee bar downstairs but there are also many great local coffee shops within walking distance that I tried instead. Convenient location, though some spots you may want to avoid walking in alone at night. Would stay here again! read more

I only gave them one star because there was nothing lower. We traveled there by car (an all day trip) to meet family members and tried to check in at 8:15 pm. on a Friday evening (April 2024). They said our room wasn't ready and the maids needed to clean it. (Have they started charging by the hour? I mean...it was almost bed time!!). Exhausted, we sat in the lobby two hours before the desk people (who did check in other couples while trying to evade our stares) told us they had a clean room for us. Guess it really takes a long long time to clean an Omni room. The desk guy in charge (one of the evaders) said they'd give $100 of per night discount and a $150 restaurant credit to make up for our inconvenience. Hummm... We did all of our family visiting and checked out Sunday morning. Got home to an email from Omni saying their computer system been hacked and some evil-doers stole all their customers' personal info. My husband said, "They're adding insult to injury. But at least they didn't charge us for parking." A week later we got an email from my brother in law (same last name) who said they put our restaurant charges and parking on HIS bill. So much for the freebies. Dirty sheets had to call to get new ones. While on the phone with the front desk, they seemed completely uninterested in my issue and took their sweet time sending someone up to replace them. When the new sheets finally arrived, they weren't much better. Stains and hairs were still visible, making me question whether they were even washed. The lack of cleanliness in this place is appalling, and I wouldn't recommend staying here to anyone. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I'll be taking my business elsewhere in the future. Two stars is generous for this subpar establishment. read more
