My hands shake, when it gets colder, it shakes worse. I used to wear cut off gloves to this game because they kept my hands warm and decreased my shaking and a dealer said he wanted to give me a cup of soup , implying that I guess I look like a homeless person, which is probably true. I wasn't insulted by the comment. It was just insensitive, and I knew he meant no harm by it it. When possible, I sit in the 1 or the 9 seat which is closest to the dealer. I sat in the ninth seat most recently, and I would say fold instead of pushing my cards and the cards are literally next to the dealer and I guess she didn't like that too much because she said something smart about it along the lines of " I guess I'll fold your hand for you. "I said I have a condition that makes my hand shake. It's easier if I just say fold To which she replied, you're not getting any sympathy from me. Nobody wants sympathy. A little empathy would be considerate. It sucks having a disability. It sucks even more that you have to explain yourself. Some of the staff can use some disability sensitivity training. On a good note, All the managers here are really cool and professional. When I asked to exchange my chips to lessen my stack, they help me put it together and of course I always tip. I know my condition can sometimes slow the game down so I tip generously and I am considerate at making fast decisions.

But then when it came to him booking his flight, it turned out that it was much cheaper to come one day earlier. This meant we needed to tack on another hotel night, but wanted to find a cheaper spot. Enter: Wyndham Garden. I have no big complaints. It's just that, in general, it was a pretty run down facility. It was pretty much what you expect you picture something in the Holiday Inn/La Quinta tier. I tend to bring my own pillows when I don't have to fly. I'm glad i did, because each bed had 2 very small, horrible looking pillows. Crisis averted there. We had a first floor room with a "balcony" that was essentially a shared backyard that led to the pool. We didn't have swimsuits so we didn't partake, but the pool looked like what you'd imagine it to be. Need a cheap hotel with free parking that's only a few minutes from downtown? The Wyndham is your spot.

The staff was friendly, our room was nice, and we were on the 13th floor overlooking the grand lobby, which was a nice touch. There were a couple of things that could have been better. The pillows weren't the most comfortable, and one day our room wasn't cleaned at all. After being out all day, it was disappointing to come back to that. We had to go down to the front desk to ask for fresh towels and to have our trash taken out. I also wish the staff had been a little more apologetic about the room not being cleaned. Housekeeping was running late the following day as well, which was frustrating. Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay. The location is hard to beat if you're visiting Austin, and having a bar and restaurant right in the hotel is convenient for grabbing a drink or a late-night bite. With more consistent housekeeping, the experience would have been even better!
