I used to wear cut off gloves to this game because they kept my hands warm and decreased my shaking and a dealer said he wanted to give me a cup of soup , implying that I guess I look like a homeless person, which is probably true. I wasn't insulted by the comment. It was just insensitive, and I knew he meant no harm by it it. When possible, I sit in the 1 or the 9 seat which is closest to the dealer. I sat in the ninth seat most recently, and I would say fold instead of pushing my cards and the cards are literally next to the dealer and I guess she didn't like that too much because she said something smart about it along the lines of " I guess I'll fold your hand for you. "I said I have a condition that makes my hand shake. It's easier if I just say fold To which she replied, you're not getting any sympathy from me. Nobody wants sympathy. A little empathy would be considerate. It sucks having a disability. It sucks even more that you have to explain yourself. Some of the staff can use some disability sensitivity training. On a good note, All the managers here are really cool and professional. When I asked to exchange my chips to lessen my stack, they help me put it together and of course I always tip. I know my condition can sometimes slow the game down so I tip generously and I am considerate at making fast decisions.

The players here were of different skill levels and friendly. Since it was my first in person game, I was used to playing online poker where everything was automated and so I thank everyone on my table for reminding me when to post my blinds and ante. The dealers where terrific and friendly as well. I was not too far from the the bubble too. Also they have unlimited sodas. Monthly membership rates are reasonable too.

They recently remodeled and moved tables around. I went to where my new table assignment used to be to learn it was now in another room. I cut through the bathroom instead of walking through the entire establishment as you are supposed to go directly to your next table. I was informed shortly after that going through the bathroom with tournament chips was not allowed due to camera issues. They pulled my chips and disq me from the tournament. This rule is not posted in any rules, on any forms, nor is there ANY signage stating no tournament chips beyond this point (bathroom). I was also informed I was not the first player they did this to. if this is such a major issue, WHY NO SIGNS???? I won't return for a while. There are other clubs that others are moving to as well that has their acts together.

Even our bracelets printed at the same time from the kiosk. The room was spacious and clean, located halfway down the hallway, which we loved because we avoided the elevator traffic noise. The food was very pricey and pretty basic. Once we ate, we headed to the park, which was an experience! The lazy river was a nice pace and the temperature was perfect. The rides were lots of fun and the lines weren't long at all. We also explored the adults only area, which was the cherry on top. It was quiet and the drinks were excellent. Overall we LOVED our experience and can't wait to return.

Our Texas Girl Scout troop was planning an end of the year large group trip and intended to book…read more20-25 rooms through Kalahari group sales, with approximately 50-60 people participating. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly frustrating and disorganized. Our point of contact was Jeselle Corpuz. For over a month, we were repeatedly told by Jeselle they were "working on our group rate," yet they still expected our group to commit to staying there without knowing the actual cost. We would receive emails at the end of the business day with no new information -- only that they were still working on it. Keep in mind, this was coming from the manager of group sales. We emailed several times and rarely received responses. We also left multiple voice messages and never received callbacks. We even contacted corporate, only to be referred back to the same person who had been unhelpful throughout the process. Communication was slow, unclear, and lacked professionalism. After waiting weeks with no concrete answers, we finally decided to move our troop's trip elsewhere. We ended up booking another waterpark, reserving a different hotel, and even adding another group activity -- all with far better customer service and much quicker responses. It was especially disappointing because our Girl Scouts voted for this as their end-of-year trip. We were prepared to bring not only the girls, but also their families -- which would have meant a very large group and significant business for Kalahari. Unfortunately, the lack of competence, communication, and ability to provide even basic information made it impossible to move forward. In my 10 years of planning end-of-year troop trips, this is the first time we have been unable to give the girls the trip they requested and voted on. Over the years, we've successfully planned trips to Great Wolf Lodge, Epic Waters, Jellystone, SeaWorld, the Fort Worth Zoo, NASA, Moody Gardens, and many other destinations, and we have never experienced such a frustrating and poorly managed booking process as we did with Kalahari.

Well, what I got was an under seasoned, overcooked, hunk of meat that resembled roadkill. It was gray and fatty and not anything that should be served at any restaurant! I also ordered a large side of fries to go with it. What I got was a small Styrofoam container with EXACTLY 10 fries. Now for the service: I sat at the bar and ordered a soda while I waited. The bartender seemed to not understand what "Sprite" was and I needed to point out the soda gun to her and what it was. To be fair, there may have been a language barrier there on her part, but it just adds to the whole lack of customer service, particularly when I finished it, my glass just sat there needing a refill, and that would have to be the first time I've ever experienced that anywhere in the United States. Not wanting to eat dinner there again the following night, after working all day, I decided I'd get something simple at Walmart to eat in my room. I Went to the restaurant again, to merely ask for a plastic knife, fork, and salt and pepper ( that I was provided with the night before) and was flat out told that they can't help me. Quite taken aback, I decided to go to the front desk. The lady there had a major " I don't give a sh@t" attitude and suggested I go and ask the bar. I then asked her if she could simply go to the breakfast area to get me some plastic wear so I could eat my dinner, and she reiterated that she couldn't help. Exasperated, I asked if there was any salt and pepper for me in this entire building? She stated again that she couldn't help because apparently the bar/restaurant is not actually affiliated with the hotel. Returning to the bar AGAIN, I politely asked the lady once more for help, and she quite rudely told me that I couldn't be in there with outside food, when all I wanted was a plastic knife and fork and some salt and pepper!. She grumpily told me "You'll have to wait a while" Even though it was the place that I got a plastic knife and fork the previous night. Fed up, I decided to drive a 15 minute round trip to Dollar General to get some plastic knives and forks, and salt & pepper; the service there was great! Returning to my room, I'd also noticed, my room had been cleaned, even though I had a "do not disturb" sign on the door. Shout out to Walmart and dollar general For your excellent customer service. I knew I should've stayed at the courtyard by Marriot

Moved the pool table, dance floor, and bar. It seems so much larger inside and more dance oriented. Kudos on that! Now down to business... Bartender was very friendly and nice. Music was fabulous (Tejano) but the waitress was not so friendly. She spent more time looking at my companions husband and trying to flirt rather than worry about our order. I noticed a lesbian couple that she was annoying as well by doing the same flirting with the boyish one of the two rather than respect their union. Needless to say they left early along with the rest of their group which I'm sure were disgusted with this young ladies LACK OF MORALS. So ladies if your going solo and with friends its a great fun place...If your going with a boyfriend or spouse I would say stay away unless you enjoy hoochies hitting on your man. With that said it also goes for Lesbian couples this girl has NO COUTH and apparently seeks attention from taken strangers!!!!!!

The people that play are really friendly, but no one can beat Billy! He's the man behind the counter. He's the nicest, friendliest, best person! He loves to help people, always offers soda or water.
