My mom is a resident at Anointed Senior living and I have to say that I am nothing more than impressed! The New owners and directors have down a phenomenal job of taking care of my mom and residents! Aneva, the Activities director keeps residents active and engaged throughout the day and Chef Ben serves up hot delicious meals from scratch daily. Care staff are also engaged with residents and demonstrate empathy and compassion! This place is a nightmare. If you care about your loved one, do not put them here. Residents are neglected and sad. I placed an elderly relative in their care for 5 days. Checking on him after the 5th day, I discovered his bathroom filthy with a wet floor and dirty items all over the floor. I searched for someone to clean it, and after some effort found a person who cleaned his bathroom. The wet floor was a slipping hazard. As I was searching for a worker to help him, there was a woman in a wheelchair sitting with other residents in the main gathering room, sobbing uncontrollably. Although workers were standing around in the hall, not one of them moved to check on her or comfort her. This was in the early evening hours after management had departed the building. I noticed that my relative had not been bathed or groomed since his arrival. He had not been shaved. His closet was full of soiled, wet clothes. He told me that the ceiling light had been left on all night long every night. This indicates to me that no one had been helping him go to bed. He told me he was scared. I waited to see if a worker would come to help him get ready for bed and turn out his light. He still had his shoes on, was clothed, and had not brushed his teeth by 9PM. I waited from 6PM to 9PM and no one checked on him during that time or came to help him get ready for bed. I had been told someone was checking on him every hour - this was clearly a lie. Finally at 9PM I once again searched for and found a worker who came to his room. She helped him change clothes, but did not encourage him to use the restroom or brush his teeth. This worker had been on the job only 3 weeks, and was unsupervised in the evening because all management leaves the building by 5pm and the last leave by 7pm. My relative got in bed and the inexperienced worker left. Right after she left, he needed to use the restroom. I had to assist him in the bathroom. He was very tired and in a weak condition. If he had been left alone he might have fallen. I tucked him in again, turned off the light, and left him to sleep. There was no night light in the room, but I had brought a small lamp that I left on so the room was not total darkness. I came the next morning and removed him from this facility. The evening I was there, I kept asking who was in charge. I was told no one was, that the workers were in charge of themselves. I discovered that there is no supervisor on the property after 7PM at night. There is no one who is checking to see if the residents are being cared for during the evening and night hours or if the workers are doing their jobs. I can tell you - the residents are being neglected at night. I witnessed all the workers sitting around in the entry area, on their phones doing nothing when I left after 9PM. I could not in good conscience leave my relative at this facility. I removed him immediately, and requested my money back, but management refused to refund any money. Save yourself some heartache and expense, stay away from this place. read more

This community is amazing. My husband and I struggled with the decision of placing his mother in Memory Care. Everyone, especially Melissa, has loved us through this process. Gently allowing her to adjust to her environment and making her feel at home. We are very grateful to all the staff. They also threw her a birthday party, food and music. my family has recently moved my mother to Pecan Ridge, and couldn't be more pleased. The staff is exceptional, eager to help families during this process which can be emotional. They are expert in caring for elderly residents, while also respectful of them and extended family. the facility looks like a fine hotel, but has a homey, comfortable atmosphere. Our experience with Pecan Ridge has been excellent in every way. It is comforting to know that our elderly parent is getting loving care in an environment filled with quality and most importantly caring people that have made it a home for her as opposed to just a place to stay. We are so thankful to have found Pecan Ridge. From the moment Melissa first sat with us and listened to my mother's needs to this afternoon when I visited, we could not be more pleased that we have finally found a home for my momma that is beautiful and she is well cared for. Our oldest son stated after visiting, "this is how rich people live" The facility is homey, beautiful, and clean. No 'old people odor' here. More importantly, the staff is caring and loving with each resident's specific needs. I have sat many an afternoon observing Alzheimer's patients including my mother respond to the music and get up and dance with Donna, the activities director, and witness residents who don't usually speak sing along with the musicians. I moved my 90 year old diabetic mother who suffers from Alzheimers into this place in June 2017 when it was called Autumn Leaves. It is a beautiful property. My mother had a large room overlooking a garden. It was very posh ($6K a month) and at first everything went fine. We crafted a care plan for all her medical needs. Then, the place changed hands and became Pecan Ridge. We all got a letter stating that nothing would change. That was in October 2017. In March 2018, I discovered that they had not been following doctors orders. Her blood sugar, ordered to be tested 3x a day, had not been checked since October. Her breathing treatments ordered for 3x a day had not been administered for her asthma and COPD since October--5 months. I tried to settle it in house, and called the corporate boss, but it was still not being done. I had to call DHHS, and for one month they were testing her sugars, and I saw the log. I thought it was resolved. Then they stopped again, and told me that her doctor had said it was not necessary. I called the doctor and he stated that was not true, and re-faxed the order for 3X a day sugars. So they lied to me about talking to the doctor. On May 21st, I came to take mom to the doctor, and asked for the sugar logs. I was shown a blank log. They told me they would not do them. I then went to my mothers room. She was lying in bed covered in vomit, of which I took photos. She was screaming in pain so I called the ambulance. At the ER, a UTI was discovered, but the pain was a mystery. I took her home to my house. My husband went to pick up all her meds. Half were missing, including her pain meds. I went to the pharmacy and discovered that her pain medicine had not been refilled for 60 days. Her antidepressant, which is not supposed to be abruptly stopped, had not been refilled for 30 days. Her bladder control meds--60 day unfilled. Then her doc did blood work and found out she was severely malnourished, and had a very low protein count. They did not follow doctors orders with the meds and sugars, they were not giving her the pain medicine, and evidently they were not feeding her. She has lost 20 pounds in the year she had been there. They do not have enough staff either. Every time I went there, no one was around. Time and again. I trusted them to care for my precious mother, and they were not feeding her, giving her the doctor ordered medications, not to mention not bathing unless I complained, not dressing her, no two hour checks during the night as promised, and of course there were many petty thefts of her belongings. I was paying about $60K a year for the pleasure. I called DHHS again and Pecan Ridge was cited for the medications in May 2018. It is very hard to sue these places. Then they played games with her LTC insurance, not submitting the invoices to the insurance company, delaying her payments for two months. My husband and I had to take out a loan to cover her expenses. I never took her back, and now she is in an even more expensive place--$8K a month. Moving someone with Alzheimers is very traumatic and confusing, and expensive. They are all so friendly and smile in your face, but it was all a lie. Although this place is called memory care, they told me that they were more social than medical. I would never put her there if they had told me it was not medical. Alzheimers is a degenerative medical condition. It was a horror show and my mother could have died from this neglect. DHHS cited them this time.
