To be frank, there is nothing exceptional about this testing center. The process is very cut and dry, straight to the point. The staff does not deviate from protocol or their required scripts unless you ask a question. I wasn't allowed to wear my Nike rain jacket because they said it would make a swoosh sound, but they offered me jackets that had been left at the facility "months ago." I didn't like that the testing center has a weird "musty basement" smell. I like that this testing center is pretty small compared to others I've went to. There's less than 20 computers in the room and they're all against the wall so you're in your own zone. My test lasted 2 fairly quiet hours. When I finished the proctor didn't tell me if I passed or failed but have a little smile that was reassuring. I would come back to this test center because of the small space and testing privacy of the cubicles. read more

I was kind of scared off by the poor reviews below but decided to schedule my exam here anyway because driving 40 minutes to Reston did not sound like fun either. I was happily surprised by how pleasant and friendly the gentleman at the front desk and lady monitoring the exams were. They readily answered my questions about the testing rules and COVID procedures. And the guy at the front desk was so happy for me when I passed my exam. He couldn't tell me verbally but when he passed me my result paper I could kind of tell I passed by his demeanor and body language before I even looked at the paper. I hope these are the people you encounter for your exam. My only complaint is that I called the center prior to scheduling my exam and left a message but no one called me back. read more

I almost failed my exam because of the appalling manager and proctor. This place deserves ZERO stars. As soon as I step inside the center, the manager sitting at the administrative desk does not greet me, and asks what exam I am taking. (He looks to be around his late 40's) I went about 3 hours early to check out the location and ask about any parking fees, and the manager proceeds to talk at length about how he can't guarantee that I won't be penalized for parking. (there was no payment kiosk or personnel) He then said I can take my exam 3 hours early, but I said I didn't want to and that I'll be back at a later time. He then asks, with an attitude and in a condescending tone, when I'd be back, but regardless of my reply, jumps in and says I MUST be back 30 minutes before my exam. When I came back, he said "I've been waiting for you", and says to my surprise: "listen, we don't just sit here all day, we have to take exams to work here", to which I said "I'm sure, I've been to Pearson testing centers many times". Then he proceeds to tell me I can't wear my cardigan. I'm sure he mistook it as a jacket, and when I told him that other centers let me wear it, he said that they were doing me a courtesy, and gave me a look so derogatory that it made me like I was his student. He then rudely orders me to take a picture and palm print. I felt as if I was in a jail rather than a testing center. I get to the testing room, and the older woman who is a proctor, also talks in a derogatory and condescending way, and almost pushes me back with her arm out closely in front of me to move me from my position. She asked if I understood TWICE and kept repeating the directions until I answered her, when I was already really upset at this point. So I told her I was upset that she was being rude and it was throwing me off before my exam, and that I will report her behavior. She told me she would report me too! After which she raised her voice and told me other people take exams for 10 hours (implying mine is only 2.5 hours long) so I shouldn't be complaining or raising my voice. She proceeded with the directions, and I was trying to calm down (I was fuming at this point), and looked away, to which she asked "Am I boring you?", and kept repeating this each time I looked away. I exploded at this point, raised my voice and said that was so inappropriate, to which she said nothing and continued to explain directions. I literally stewed during the first 30 minutes of my 2.5 hour long exam, and couldn't think clearly or answer as many questions as I could have. Since this was an expensive licensure exam, I tried my best to calm down and focus, but I don't want this to happen again to another test taker. When I finished, the manager (administrator), not saying a word handed me my confirmation paper and continued to be silent as I walked out. This was the worst experience I've ever had at Pearson, and I felt so mistreated. All I was trying to do was take my licensing examination. I've reported this incident as an official complaint to Pearson VUE headquarters. read more

My experience doesn't dovetail with some of the others here. I was there to take a certification exam, I arrived on time, they were great. Yes there is a lot of process with tests like this, security and so forth and you have to put your stuff in a locker, you can't wear certain things in, they don't touch you but they do search you. So not totally welcoming but both the test proctor and the person at the front desk were great and made an effort be friendly since everyone is probably nervous. It's pretty easy to find, go in front door and right down staircase there or elevator to one floor down. Pretty straightforward building. read more

This company is a joke. Online test froze up, had to restart machine. Reached out to customer service, after 45 minutes of asking me the same questions and transferring me, they "opened a case that will be resolved in 2-3 business days" Meanwhile, no refund and no chance to retake the test. read more

One star is being too generous. The actual rating I am giving is ZERO stars. Use this location as a LAST resort or if you are seriously desperate. I was warned by a fellow collegue of the unprofessional staff and the discourteous attitudes, but I shrugged it off and figured maybe he was overreacting. I chose this location since it is conveniently two blocks from my work and I could easily walk over. I have tested at this location three times. The first time was a practice test to see what the test was like. The second time, I received a passing score and certification in my program. Both times I had the same rude older woman my collegue complained about. She was the test administrator who confirmed my appointment and exam. Although rude, I interpretted it as overly strict. Recently, I was there to take a pilot test for the certification program. The test administrator was an older male who was beyond rude. I felt intimidated by his attitude then became angry for allowing myself to be treated in such a way. I didn't want to escalate the situation and risk having to reschedule. During my 2.5 hr test I stewed, forgetting to alert the proctor of completion of my test, I got up and exited the testing area. That is when the administrator became belligerent. The proctor that day was very nice, but the administrator was yelling at me. l went back to my office to share my latest experience, and another collegue experienced the same exact treatment by the same exact employee. I understand the importance of and upholding the integrity of proctored testing, but the lack of customer service experience felt as if I were being processed in a county jail versus there to take a pilot test. It seems at this location, the test administrators are rude on purpose to intentionally stress out the test takers and throwing off their concentration. I am deeply disappointed at the customer service my collegues and I have received here at this location, there is no excuse for this behavior in a professional workplace. I will never refer anyone to this dismal location. I hope Pearson Vue will read my complaint and fix this issue to prevent this from reoccurring to other test takers. Please do your research to find a better Pearson Vue location. Good luck and happy testing! read more

I clearly had different employees at this location today than the first reviewer because my experience could not have been any more pleasant (and passing my test helped too!). I arrived at 7:30AM and easily found the location in the basement. I was the first person there and they were kind enough to tell me to take a number so I could use the restroom without losing my place in line. The gentleman at the front desk was highly professional with a positive attitude. The proctor was also professional and accommodating (as much as he could be). The actual testing room is just that-a room that is pretty bare. It got slightly chilly in there so I'd recommend dressing in layers if you can. There are lockers you can put your stuff in, and if you are taking the ASWB test (which is 4 hours) they let you have water and snack kept in a blue basket on top of the lockers. You just raise your hand and can go out and consume your beverage/food in the waiting room. This was my first experience with this type of testing center and it went quite smoothly! I would recommend this center rather than traveling into DC if you live in Arlington and are signed up for an exam. read more

I had such a pleasant experience at this testing center the staff was helpful and had great customer service. I went during the evening so there weren't any people waiting to test when I arrived. I was able to store my items in the locker, and check in was a breeze thanks to the people that were on shift. It was a little hard to find the suite since it was in the basement of the building. I was provided with a dry erase board and marker, when it was filled I just raised my hand and was provided with another. I would recommend this testing site. read more

Pearsonvue is a joke! The website does not allow you to see your results from a practice exam you paid for after it scores it. What is the point if you don't know what you missed. Don't waste your money! read more
