My daughter went in with a painful condition of the jaw, and they treated her AFTER we paid upfront over $4k on our credit cards claiming that most of the money will be returned to us by our insurance company. When we kept asking the status of our claim, they spent several weeks claiming their computers were down, then they sent the claim to the wrong insurance, and finally 3 months later we received a check for less than 12% of the charged amount. When questioned about it they said that we misundertood how much was going to be covered...so we are not too smart and we don't understand medical claims...they mentioned they did us a favor by submitting the claim to insurance! Really, what dentist operates like this? Ripoff artists, Don't offer any money upfront. Shame on us for falling for it. read more

Great service. Everyone was nice and warm. The assistant was very clear and try to be as specific about every step as possible which makes me feel very comfortable. The office is clean and bright. You can just tell they pay attention to decorate the place which to me means they care. read more

Do not under any circumstances have this doctor treat you for TMJ. I am in way more pain and discomfort then I was prior to seeing him. I have never met a doctor and staff (Desiree) that was so resistant to patient feedback who was reacting negatively to the treatment they were receiving. I even spoke to several lawyers regarding a potential mal practice lawsuit but unfortunately none of them saw enough money in it for them. Before starting treatment I was told it would only last 4 months, over a year later I had only gotten worse by his treatment. Every time I tried discussing this with him he and his staff would basically bully me. It got to the point where my office visits became such a source of anxiety for me it became hard for me to make my appointments. All I wanted from him was to listen to me and at least acknowledge my pain but instead he made excuses and blamed it on everything other then the treatment. His assistant Desiree even called me a liar and told me my story keeps changing during a meeting (which I have recorded) and I had to excuse here from the room. When I asked her to give me examples how my story kept changing she told me "I don't have to discuss this with you". When she came into the room I could already tell she was looking for an argument. I have never in my life been treated with such disrespect by a medical professional as I did by that woman. She would give me ridiculous excuses like "Many times when you start treatment you are in more discomfort when you don't wear the appliance then you were before you started". Are you kidding me?! That's like saying here is your open heart surgery but just so you know you will be at higher risk for a heart attack then you were before the surgery. I would mention stuff to her that she would totally dismiss, saying that's not possible without even consulting the doctor, but when I mentioned it to him he would tell me it was possible. One time I broke my appliance. And instead of charging for materials, labor, and even a small profit he made me pay the full price (a couple thousand dollars) for a whole new treatment. He is a sales man not a doctor and only cares about lining his pockets. I eventually asked him for a refund which he refused despite the fact that Desiree offered me one in the past, which at the time I refused because I was interested in getting better and not the money. Eventually he got tired of treating me and dismissed me from the practice leaving me high and dry. As a result of his treatment I am in far worse pain and discomfort then I have ever been. I became a client based on a mailer I received where they were offering new clients free whitening trays with free whitening when you came in for your bi-annual cleanings. I was a client for over 10 years with Dr. Hitesh Patel until recently. They had a WONDERFUL hygienist by the name of Chastity when I first started and not too long ago, she started a family and decided not to come back - I was devastated because she was amazing. Since then, they have been on an exhaustive search for a hygienist and they have not been able to find/retain someone. Every time that I had an appointment, there was a different hygienist and out of, conservatively thinking - 8 hygienists - 99% of them were awful. I didn't want to have to shop around for a new dentist, so I stuck around - especially for the free whitening. My last and FINAL visit was Monday May 2nd. Alas, another new hygienist, however, this woman turned out to be very good. I enjoyed my experience with her, and my teeth actually felt clean afterwards. When it came time to inquire about my usual whitening, I was told that they discontinued the loyalty program, and are now offering something different and cheaper for folks to purchase. Well, that's great, except that my being a client for over 10 years and enduring a roller coaster of sub-par cleanings, there should at a minimum be a discount offered for us "loyalty program" members. Apparently, this was something that had not even been discussed. I was told that they would inquire with Dr. Patel and get back with me in the morning - which they did. I read my email and the only mention about the whitening was the regular price that had already been discussed with me the evening prior. However, I had a beautiful breakdown of what I would need to pay (minus insurance coverage) for minor work that I need done. I replied thanking them for the quote and I asked her to confirm that, essentially, my loyalty meant nothing and how I was willing to BUY cleaning that evening, so is there any type of discount that they could provide me with? She replied a short time later offering me a 10% discount, HOW INSULTING! So, you no longer offer the bleaching gel - which was more expensive, for reasons completely understandable, but now you are offering something that is costing your practice LESS, and won't even consider covering the taxes for us "loyalty program" members? So I simply replied with a, "Oh, so that's one percentage (more or less) for each year that I've been a client. Very generous. Thank you." Clearly, it's not about the money, but more about honoring those that helped you to build up a good name for your practice. You don't have to run a free-for-all, but the bar for customer service is set so low, that the focus appears to be more on acquiring than retaining customers/clients. Needless to say, I will not be going back to Pearly Dental as they do not care about loyalty, merely ways to add on services to pad your bill. It's a real shame. read more

Their doctor that works was suppose to numb my right side of face when doing a procedure but numb the left instead and found out later she was suppose to numb the right side and after the procedure was done numb my left side so my whole mouth was numb. They charge me extra for doing that without telling me. This place is huge joke and they never have the same nurses, probably the doctor is a cheapskate when it come to business and charging to customers. read more

I went to this office for a simple cleaning, but came away with so much more. They offered guidance, things to look out for, and advice on other things I can do that other dentists failed to provide in the past. It was refreshing and aside from the cavities was a very rewarding experience. Even my kids loved the staff and had fun getting their teeth taken care of. Definitely going to be going back and recommending this office to more than just the people reading Yelp reviews. They also help with TMJ issues and work with the patient to make sure they're getting the best care they can. They worked on a planned approach to dental care that puts the patients' needs first. read more

Pearly Dental over charges in mouth guards as well as services. They made me pay up front and then I had to try to get my money back from my insurance company. I paid over $5,000 for TMJ services that didn't last no more than 4 months. Dr. Hitesh Patel basically fitted me for an very expensive mouthguard which he called an appliance which costed over $2,000. Please investigate this dental office before giving up any money. Wow, have I been time and time again, been impressed with Pearly Dental! I've been a patient there for years, and I cannot sing the praises of this office and Doctor(s) enough!!!!! The office is filled with extremely helpful and careful people, from the Doctors all the way through each of the employees. I found Dr Patel after an extensive search - I visited many offices over a 1-2 year span all over Chicago and the suburbs, trying to help my issues with TMJ. Upon a recommendation from my MD, I visited Dr. Patel's practice and have not regretted the decision since! The pain relief and change in life's daily simple activities like even opening my mouth when eating, have done a complete 180 after he helped me with my TMJ! The Extensive knowledge and background of his truly came through in my visits with him, and he has helped me beyond words! When my wife was seeking out a place to seek help for her CPAP intolerance a few months ago, there was only 1 place i could imagine sending her - to Dr Patel! And the results he's helped her achieve are life-changing for her and I both at nights! Have even had an appointment with Dr. Bindi recently for the first time; I was hesitant and nervous to not see Dr Patel, but she fit right into what I've experienced at this practice for years -- Quality and a great experience!! read more

I was a patient for over 20 years, and as stated in other reviews have been though and office relocation and several changes of staff. Because the office is only open 1 day after 5:00pm I made my appointments 6 months in advance to get a time that worked for me. Recently after many calls by them to reschedule my appointments ( not sure why) they informed me that they will no longer offer ANY appointments after 4:00 pm. Apparently they don't need the business. I will be finding a new dentist. read more

Before seeing Dr. Patel, Ms. Klein and the rest of PD's staff, I had terrible headaches, muscle pains and constant jaw popping. After two weeks of wearing my retainer, my symptoms are just about gone! I am very happy I was referred to them and would recommend them to anyone suffering from TMJ. read more
