My family has been extremely happy with Dr. Romanelli and it was a pleasure to have been working with her staff for a few years now. We also referred several other families in the community from the past few years. But the incident that took place today left us dumbfounded and so disgusted with the managers attitude that we will never be returning to this practice. I got a call from manager who has apparently been working for 9 years at this location asking to confirm an appointment. It was not my appointment and I had to ask her to check if its regarding my wife's instead. She said yes, the appointment is for my wife. As we have family visiting, I wanted to reschedule on behalf of my wife and I was told there would be a fee. I told the manager that we have been loyal patients of this practice and waiving the fee would be appreciated. The manager rudely told me that there will be fees. I told her that I understand there is change in management and the new management might be imposing these fees and wanted her to see if she can do something about it. The manager even more rudely said that she has been working there for 9 years and said we signed some document not sure how many years ago saying we will pay the rescheduling fee as its not within 48 hours. She went on about more things in patronizing and condescending tone. At that point I realized that I was talking to someone that doesn't have any basic customer or patient management skills and told her we will be terminating this relationship. At that point I was told I am not the patient so I cannot reschedule/cancel the appointment and my wife is supposed to call them back. I was flabbergasted at couple of things: 1. Why she was talking to me for 5 minutes and arguing with a condescending tone about my wife's appointment, if I do not have the authority to cancel or change my wife's appointment 2. How a highly rated practice has had an employee of this caliber survive 9 years and become a manager ! Someone who is reading this review with more HIPAA knowledge might want to check if this is a violation as my wife never consented for me to be making/confirming/cancelling her appointments to begin with. Just wanted to reiterate that the doctors and dental hygienists are top quality at this location even after management change. But the manager is the reason why we will never be returning to this practice. A high quality practice needs high quality employees and the level was service today was abysmal and deplorable. The new owners are more than welcome to reach me directly to discuss further. I am sure the manager knows exactly who I am after what happened today.

We presented a really difficult…read morecase to them -- a disabled young woman who had not had dental care in at least 20 years and whose health and teeth had been severely neglected. She doesn't even know how to brush her teeth properly! When she came to stay with us, I was shocked at her condition. We called ahead to discuss the case, and the dentist said to bring her in. Scheduling with Mary was very easy. We were greeted warmly, and then our hygenist did an incredible job! When we saw the dentist, Dr. Pope was so very kind and went way above and beyond what we could have even hoped for! He took extra time to help us, was very patient and friendly, and made us feel very welcome. Then he did what we thought was impossible -- he put in a lot of hard work, thoroughly cleaned her teeth, and made a difference that will effect this woman's entire life! He had to contend with gum disease, swelling, and neglect, and somehow he managed to perform a miracle. Now, a week later, the swelling that she went in with has gone done tremendously, she chews her food, and some of the loose teeth seem better anchored as the gums have tightened up. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone! They did a thorough and incredible job. More than that, they were kind and compassionate, and they welcomed a very challenging patient with a smile.
