I come to visit my son in the area, and have visited the Spa a few times for a massage. One time they had an Asian lady she was wonderful. the last two massages have been at best mediocre. The last massage was rather bad, she spent a very long time massaging the bottom of my feet? I think she did this because she was able to sit on a stool the entire time. I asked her twice if she would please work on my hips and back. Also, she asked me how about the pressure when she was using her elbows to work on my back, I said fine, but then the pressure just stopped, did not work on target points. Just a lot of rubbing. Did not work in requested areas. I left disappointed, with a lot of tightness in my back and hips. I do not know if I will go back. read more

So body scrub procedures are a bait and switch leaving you dead skin free but maneuvering you around the table like a burrito. If you can't bend , twist and lift your own body weight.... I hoped for a true pampering at Pearl's. I got a facial and massage. The massage was very average or below. It was like a "routine" massage performed on me. No use of anything other than her hands and often only using one hand. Then the facial....she put on products wiped off, again, again and a neck massage that was also so basic. No magic in the fingers on my face which is what I love about an experienced esthetician. My face broke out terribly that evening. Spa "looks" nice, but staff inexperienced and the front desk staff had their noses raised every so slightly. Pearl's wants to sell their over priced products and services that are below average for sure. Note: Any small business that charges someone for cancellation 19 ours in advance due to covid is running a business where people WILL NOT want to refer or return. Come on Pearl's. I live downtown and do not recommend Pearl's. read more

I had a spa session with my Mom. Even had an email confirmation for my appointment. We showed up and they had no record of our appointment. The lady at the front desk showed little concern for their mistake. Only saying she was sorry and she could get us in next week. When we finally spoke with the owner later that day; she only apologized and hoped we would give them another try. No courtesy treatment (massage or facial) not a discount. Be sure to read their cancellation policy in its entirety before signing. They will charge you for half of your service if you don't call exactly 24 hours in advance to cancel REGARDLESS of whether you get diagnosed with Covid, get in an accident, get a flat tire on the way, etc. No exception. I was charged $65 for calling as soon as I was diagnosed with Covid for cancelling 19 hours in advance. These people have no regard for their customers and no compassion for doing the right thing. I live nearby and am so glad to be close to this gem. I have to sing Vandell's praises - I have been going to her for years, and more often recently, and she is so kind, and SO skilled. When you ask for a gentle, relaxing massage - she really gives you that! I don't leave there sore, as I have with some massages. Worse massage ever! We went for a couples massage my husband enjoyed his hence the star given. I was asked what kind of pressure I said medium to gentle well clearly she forgot when she got to my back, I am in so much pain now I will never go back! There was nothing relaxing about it. I first called to make sure there were availabilities on the desired day, was informed there were and told them I would call off work and then call right back. I got my shift covered and called to make an appointment for myself and another at the same time for their birthday. On our desired day there wasn't an available slot for two at the same time but rather two back-to-back. Michelle, the receptionist, said she would call a client who booked to see if they would be willing to push back their time so that we could have our facials together! Unlikely, but still an awesome option and gesture. Worse case, we have appointments back to back. Hours go by without hearing back so I decided to call and at least make sure time was blocked off in case the other client couldn't move. Come to find out, they scheduled another client during the spot that would have allowed us to get ours done together if the original client decided she would move. Dumbfounded on why they would even call the client to move her if you weren't going to make sure that other slot stayed open, I asked if they could please contact the new booking client and inform them there had been a scheduling mistake. Debbie, the receptionist for the second shift, said she would see what she could do and call me back. 15 minutes before they close I still have not heard anything so I call. Debbie tells me that she's not going to call that new client and make her move, even though this mistake has been made by pearl spa. Why not tell me, why keep me waiting and not call back and communicate with me. Feeling the serious lack of interest in my future business, because Debbie did not try at all to salvage my business or apologize for the mistakes made or compensate in any way, I firmly decided to part ways with pearl spa. A little customer service when a mistake is made goes a long way and unfortunately for Pearl Spa they don't care. read more

My husband got me a gift certificate and I unfortunately was not able to use it due to many things occurring over the year (surgeries, family emergencies, etc) - I called to see if any of the certificate could be used (I didn't expect the whole $200), and was told no. It was very disappointing because she didn't try to see why I was unable to use it. Obviously if we are willing to spend $200 on a gift certificate, we wouldn't just throw it away. I have been here personally for both a couples massage and a few solo massages. I've also treated my wife to massages there several times. We always have a great experience. The atmosphere is ideal. Buyer beware when it comes to buying their gift certificates. They expire in only 6 months time. My husband bought me one when I was pregnant and I was advised not to get a massage. Little did I realize that once I was ready to get out of the house and take advantage of the gift certificate I would be told that they would happily give me 50% of the value. I was in a very bad accident a couple of years ago and getting massages along with chiropractic has greatly relieved the pain.
