The husband works for the DOE so he knew the logistics of purchasing a Holo card prior to our adventure. Stopped by at a local 7-11 to grab adult Holo cards (kids Holo cards are NOT available at the stations and can only be purchased at Satellite City Hall or the transit centers). Luckily my boys were under the age limit, so no cards were needed for them. Adult rides are about $3 each way and factoring in our transfers, we were looking at around $7.50 per person. We drove from town to the Pearlridge station, then parked at the Park and Ride lot. About 14 stalls were available, visible and conspicuous from the main road. NO bathrooms at the stations. Trains run every 10 minutes. A friendly attendant was there to keep the premise safe and answer any questions. Trains were clean, safe, and well maintained. We were one of the few families riding the rail which made for a relaxing first experience! If they completed the line to end at Ala Moana, that would have been so convenient. If not in our lifetime, perhaps our boys will see it before their retirement! Lol

I been taking Da Bus since 1997 and there have been Sooo much improvements. All bus have "working AC" they now have phones to connect directly to central office if there are any problems in operation, ie: AC not working or engine problems. If Da Bus is operable they driver will continue route and inform passengers central is sending a bus and passengers to transfer on and give the destination. The rails for standing passengers have either been lowered or have handles that can be pulled down especially for short people like me lol. The seats are much more comfortable. The newer buses also have bell buzzers on certain poles again handy for standing passengers. If you're lucky they have FREE daily Star-Advertiser while you're on Da Bus. The Best Thing That Makes Me SMILE is days when I drive , I ALWAYS let a bus go if need to get back into driving lane, Than Got Those Bus That Has The MAHALO AND SHAKA UNIT BIG UPS TO THAT! If not those drivers that acknowledge their appreciation with a wave or SHAKA! Letting a bus in front of me is No Big Deal they will be getting off lane at the next bus stop which normally isn't that far ahead . Even though I…read morebooked pretty late and our first choice (the Coors) was already booked weeks out, they came through with "The Beast," and we were able to secure it just three days before our event. An extra shout-out to our driver, Delson; he was an absolute gem. We rented the bus for four hours on a Saturday, and he was incredible at staying in touch and being exactly where we needed him throughout the night. He even circled back to multiple stops when a few people realized they'd left phones or purses on the bus. We didn't have a set route; everyone wrote down a bar, and we spun the wheel roulette-style, which made the night even more fun. We ended up extending the rental by another two hours and would've gone longer if road closures for the marathon hadn't cut us off. Highly recommend OPB and Delson for any group event! We will definitely be booking again.

Everyone got to ride in the big "BEAST" bus to Kapolei Ka Makana Mall while enjoying the snacks and drinks that were also included in this package. On the bus the teens got to hookup their bluetooth and play music they enjoyed. OPB Staff- TJ greeted us at the mall and walked us over to arena. pointed out the restrooms nearby. After we all jumped back on the bus to cool off we headed to a park where TJ met us with tables ALREADY prepared with birthday table covers, 4 Large Hot Pizzas, and cold drinks ready for us to enjoy. Our last stop was the cherry on top- Daves Ice Cream Shop (personally my favorite ice cream and its MADE IN HAWAII). Cute little shop & the staff serving was very helpful in getting everyones order and we all sang happy birthday! My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Oahu Party Bus RAZOR cart & nerf Package so much that we went ahead and booked a party for our sons upcoming birthday. The main selling points is the great customer service, curbside service- immediately after exiting bus we were all directed and not lost in the iteniary with 15 teens and some parents, and above all the convenience of booking one package with everything included!! I wont have to set up decorations, pick up refreshments, or drive 25 people over to the west side- but instead sit back and enjoy our kids happiness & excitement! Thank You OPB!

BTW, there's another station further west which is the last station. There is no parking there, you need to park at the West Oahu one. The station was nice and open. You need to buy a Holo Holo card ($2) if you don't have one. It's refillable and you should registered it online. Our RT fare to the stadium, the end point, and back to West Oahu was $3. You can buy the card and fill it at the stations before the gates. Use the card to tap in AND OUT of the gates. There were a bunch of riders on board- a lot of them were riding for fun like us. It was a nice ride- comfortable and cool, seats and interior in good condition. Signage was good - the next stop was announced ahead of time. All in all it was a fun comfortable ride! If the city can get its act together and figure out a way to actually extend the route and make the rail usable, this would be a big asset.

The Honolulu Skyline has become an attraction rather than a mode of public transportation…read more You saw on the news on the first day it opened with FREE rides to everyone. It was jam-packed! Everyone wanted to experience it. The rail is only open from 5am on the weekdays and 8am on the weekend and holidays, and closing at 7pm. I don't believe everyone purchased a Holo Card and started using the Rail because when I went on it, it was exceedingly empty. This was on a Saturday, so maybe that's a slow day? I've seen families and probably tourists riding the rail starting from the first stop in Halawa/Aloha Stadium till Kapolei, and ride it back. I took my grandma to ride since we have HOLO cards. If not, you can purchase them at the entrance--$2/card, and $3 for a single fare with unlimited transfers for 2.5 hours (but if you don't exit a rail station, you can ride it all day!).If you're coming from town via TheBus, I highly recommend catching the City Express A to Aloha Stadium to ride. You'll get off outside of the station instead of inside, but it's a short walk. The #20 and #1L bus will take a LOT longer. Since the Skyline rail is new. Everything is clean, and the rail itself is quite spacious. The ride is a steady pace that's a little shaky at the cross points and on inclines. It takes about 22 minutes from Aloha Stadium to Kapolei, and comes every 10 minutes. You do get unique views of Pearlridge, Waipahu, and Kapolei. There's a good amount of security/attendants at the rail stations, and on the rail itself. Feels like a cruise job! A quick note, there's no public restrooms, which is understandable. Overall, yes, the rail does feel like an attraction because this is the first ever rail in Hawaii, and everyone wants to experience it. The rail was an enjoyable and comfortable ride with nice views. I'd rather ride this than jam packed on TheBus. Let's get this finished! Then bring back TheBoat! And of course, the Superferry. What could have been....if only more people supported Mayor Frank Fasi in the early 80s during his run... We would already have had a rail from Hawaii Kai to Pearl City, and I'm sure that would've been expanded further. Life would be different. TheBus strike in 2003 maybe wouldn't have happened, and wouldn't have led to more people driving and stayed driving. I believe this rail has potential, especially when it opens to the Airport, and then to Chinatown/Downtown.

This station is one of the four stations that opened in October 2025 as a part of the Skyline Sement 2 extension. It's located right across the street from the Makalapa Gate of the Pearl Harbor Naval Base on Kamehameha & Radford. It is also about a 7 minute walk uphill to the NEX (take 1L from the Hālawa Station if that's too far for you), and Target Salt Lake about a 13 minute walk away. Two buses serve this station, with PH8 running to Pearl Harbor (10 minute frequency at rush hour; every 1 hour mid-day) and 331 to Hickam AFB every hour. The station itself is very beautiful, from the green roof, cool artwork in the mezzanine level, green-painted fences, and a nice design on the station entrance tile. This is also one of the only stations that have escalators from ground level to platform (one direction only though). Also, another surprise is the bike rack storage within the paid area with a security camera watching over the area!!! You can literally bike to the rail and keep it here while you work at Pearl Harbor. It's really nice! I haven't used it other than sightseeing on opening day, but I look forward to using it going to the UPS Store at NEX, or Target (if I don't want to wait for the 1L lol).
