We were looking a fun activity on a Sunday- the Skyline light rail! Why not, we're paying for it as…read moretaxpayers anyway! We drove to the west Oahu station and parked in the huge open lot. BTW, there's another station further west which is the last station. There is no parking there, you need to park at the West Oahu one. The station was nice and open. You need to buy a Holo Holo card ($2) if you don't have one. It's refillable and you should registered it online. Our RT fare to the stadium, the end point, and back to West Oahu was $3. You can buy the card and fill it at the stations before the gates. Use the card to tap in AND OUT of the gates. There were a bunch of riders on board- a lot of them were riding for fun like us. It was a nice ride- comfortable and cool, seats and interior in good condition. Signage was good - the next stop was announced ahead of time. All in all it was a fun comfortable ride! If the city can get its act together and figure out a way to actually extend the route and make the rail usable, this would be a big asset.

Everyone wanted to experience it. The rail is only open from 5am on the weekdays and 8am on the weekend and holidays, and closing at 7pm. I don't believe everyone purchased a Holo Card and started using the Rail because when I went on it, it was exceedingly empty. This was on a Saturday, so maybe that's a slow day? I've seen families and probably tourists riding the rail starting from the first stop in Halawa/Aloha Stadium till Kapolei, and ride it back. I took my grandma to ride since we have HOLO cards. If not, you can purchase them at the entrance--$2/card, and $3 for a single fare with unlimited transfers for 2.5 hours (but if you don't exit a rail station, you can ride it all day!).If you're coming from town via TheBus, I highly recommend catching the City Express A to Aloha Stadium to ride. You'll get off outside of the station instead of inside, but it's a short walk. The #20 and #1L bus will take a LOT longer. Since the Skyline rail is new. Everything is clean, and the rail itself is quite spacious. The ride is a steady pace that's a little shaky at the cross points and on inclines. It takes about 22 minutes from Aloha Stadium to Kapolei, and comes every 10 minutes. You do get unique views of Pearlridge, Waipahu, and Kapolei. There's a good amount of security/attendants at the rail stations, and on the rail itself. Feels like a cruise job! A quick note, there's no public restrooms, which is understandable. Overall, yes, the rail does feel like an attraction because this is the first ever rail in Hawaii, and everyone wants to experience it. The rail was an enjoyable and comfortable ride with nice views. I'd rather ride this than jam packed on TheBus. Let's get this finished! Then bring back TheBoat! And of course, the Superferry. What could have been....if only more people supported Mayor Frank Fasi in the early 80s during his run... We would already have had a rail from Hawaii Kai to Pearl City, and I'm sure that would've been expanded further. Life would be different. TheBus strike in 2003 maybe wouldn't have happened, and wouldn't have led to more people driving and stayed driving. I believe this rail has potential, especially when it opens to the Airport, and then to Chinatown/Downtown.

Labubus! Yes, Animation Magic has some. They also have the replicas called Lafufus. Each type is labeled. The authentic Labubus are priced higher than the Lafufus. You can tell the difference... mostly in the eyes... Service was helpful - even in this spacious store. There is such a variety of merchandise... Most of it is dropshipped garbage you can get from Aliexpress/Temu for 1/50th the price. Cheap quality, poor service, and insane prices on merch they hope you're too dumb to buy online for WAY cheaper. Not to mention they now have a known history of scalping releases and marking them up. Don't think we didn't see you buying out all the TJ Maxx Miffy plushies so you can sell it for double the price. They are ACTIVELY taking away opportunities for fans to buy merch from retailers by scalping. Do not support this shop or any of its rude owners. Just look at the other reviews. They are genuinely preying on people who don't know better. DO NOT FALL FOR IT.

Ridiculous to find a long line that snaked out into the stairwell. This long line is for everyone with an appointment and not. This was changed from having 2 separate lines and the genius power to be decided to change to 1 line! An employee with a clipboard would come out to check everyone for their purpose of being in line. Because I had an appointment made with their online Aloha Q, he pulled me out, looked at my application and gave me a number. I then proceeded to the waiting area at 10:44am and, finally, was seen around 11:10am! Although, I brought my birth certificate, 2 proof of residency, eye check certificate from my optometrist so I don't have to get my eyes checked with their icky eyes check machine and current driver license, I was told unless I had changed my address or name, I only needed my current driver license, money to pay the fee and my eyes checked certificate! Oh, if you're already a registered voter, you do not need to re register by completing the application that's attached to the renewal driver license application! What! Grrrrr... Both the employee who took my application, current driver license and the employee who my fingerprints and photo were knowledgeable. pleasant and friendly. Now, I have to wait 6-8 weeks for my permanent driver license to arrive by mail. WOW...what an ordeal! Like having your teeth pulled and happy it was pulled...lol...

The closest satellite city hall to me had an appointment available in 4 months, so I opted for Pearlridge which was only a 2 month wait. I arrived at the mall a few minutes early and parked by Ross wanting to walk through the store to get into the mall. However, Ross wasn't open until 9am, so I waited there. When they opened, the worker let everyone know that the inside gate to the mall wouldn't be open because the mall didn't open until 10am. I thought that was strange so I checked my appointment time and verified that it was before 10am. I went to a different entrance and there was a line of people waiting too. Luckily, someone came out of the mall and someone else grabbed the door before it shut and everyone walked in and headed up to the satellite city hall. When I got to the entrance, the worker asked me if I had an appointment. I confirmed it with the info on my phone. Then she asked me if I filled out the paper application and brought it with me. I didn't know about that so she hands me a clipboard and I fill it out before heading up to the window. At least a half dozen other people behind me also did not fill out the application either. Everything else went smoothly and quickly, so yay. I asked the worker at the window how I was supposed to get in if the mall didn't open until 10am. She said I was supposed to go to the door by the monorail on the Macy's side of the mall. After hearing and experiencing all of this, I went back on the Aloha Q website to see how I missed all this information. The appointment before mall hours info was indeed there, but only a short blurb BEFORE you start getting into the appointment process. Also, I didn't go through the entire process to see where they were supposed to tell me to fill out the paper application beforehand. I do believe that the all the necessary information is there, BUT, due to the large amount of people that I saw making the same mistakes that I did, plus some reviews I've read on Yelp after the fact, I think the City needs to think of different ways to get this information across to people. I'm not sure if there was some glitch in the system when I made my appointment, but I received no email confirmation or instructions. Luckily, I had made a screenshot of my appointment date and time so I knew when to go. That, coupled with the fact that my appointment was made 2 months prior, and there was no way I'd remember anything anyways with no email confirmation close to my appointment date. Anyways, TLDR: Special entrance by monorail for appointments before 10am. Fill out your application ahead of time for driver's license renewals. Otherwise, pretty good service.

I stayed at work one day rather than go back to my home office in order to be closeby and attend the adult gymnastics class. Athough the facility was nice, it's really tiny. The size of a single company warehouse. They sure do get creative with the space - in that there was a private lesson happening and the kid was tumbling through our class space as well. This would be an amazing aerial studio (high ceilings) but it's pretty cramped, although I have to say they do their best to utilize the space efficiently. This review is for adult gymnastics only. In short: it's the kids class, with adults participating. Not very satisfying. And my warmup was led by like a six year old. As an adult participant, I was not impressed, but don't keep this from bringing your children.

Every single month we were charged on the 20th then I get an email from them saying that my billing date is the 17th. My charge did not go through for the next month yet and I cancelled 48 hours prior to when I was regularly charged yet they refuse to cancel the pending charge. Their customer service is horrible and they just seem money hungry. I have been to other locally owned gyms who would easily refund us if we emailed them 48 hours prior to when they bill but I guess this gym does not care about their clients. The overall gym is very small, there is another review for adult gymnastics that gives it 2/3 stars and I have to agree with them. You spend more than half the class stretching and maybe 10 minutes doing actually gymnastics. Sometimes you only do the activity once because of how little time you're given doing actual gymnastics. I would recommend another place that has two hour adult gymnastics for half the price!

The admission to the museum was pricey, even for Kama'aina, so we opted to get the Family Membership instead. The membership was for 2 adults and up to 4 kids, and also has discounts for other exhibits. After a quick sweep through the museum, and a wary observation of the flight simulator, the grandson decided it was time to eat. I got the Blue Angels Burger and he got the kids hot dog meal. I'd say the prices were reasonable, considering how much takeout and restaurant food costs these days. The burger was fat as hell and the dog wasn't Costco sized but definitely satisfied the kid. I didn't get pics of the food because I was too enthralled over the size of the patty! We spent the day also visiting the Mighty Mo, the Virtual Reality tour, and gift shop shopping also.

In my opinion the Aviation Museum was one of the cooler stops on our trip. I really enjoyed all the different types of planes and carriers they had on display. We also ate Lunch at the Cafe in the Aviation Museum and the food was delicious! They had a flight simulator inside the internal museum as well as a gift shop and restaurant. The Hangar still had the original bullet holes in the glass from the Pearl Harbor attack which was a really neat part of history to be able see. They also have a section where they are restoring some planes and helicopter parts. My favorite thing they had was this wood paneled plane in the hangar. They also had some old Military trucks out front of the hangar that were really cool. I highly recommend visiting the Aviation Museum while at Pearl Harbor.

The husband works for the DOE so he knew the logistics of purchasing a Holo card prior to our adventure. Stopped by at a local 7-11 to grab adult Holo cards (kids Holo cards are NOT available at the stations and can only be purchased at Satellite City Hall or the transit centers). Luckily my boys were under the age limit, so no cards were needed for them. Adult rides are about $3 each way and factoring in our transfers, we were looking at around $7.50 per person. We drove from town to the Pearlridge station, then parked at the Park and Ride lot. About 14 stalls were available, visible and conspicuous from the main road. NO bathrooms at the stations. Trains run every 10 minutes. A friendly attendant was there to keep the premise safe and answer any questions. Trains were clean, safe, and well maintained.
