I've used the bus as my main method of transportation for many years. I've filed many…read morecommendations & a few complaints regarding the drivers. I've received superb customer service from the staff of the customer service departmemt. However, I've received lossy customer service from three people in managememt at the Middle street facility, including the Manager of the customer service department! Last September on Tuesday the 16th, I was assaulted by a male bus driver who was still in uniform, but off-duty & off company property. According to one Assistant Superintendent at the Pearl City facility & another at the Middle street facility, the employee is suppose to be held responsible for his actions because he was still in uniform & represented the company. I received info from other employees who said the same thing because there are other drivers who committed misconducts while off -duty , off company property , but were in uniform & they were disciplined. But not this man, he is being protected, this is his second offense & being a favorite is disgusting!! The HR Director, the CS Mgr, & the VP for Transportation all went blind, deaf , & dumb & looked the other way when I needed help. In the beginning, the HR Director seemed nice until I sent him an email & that was it. Isn't it so weird how some people just can't handle the truth? Twice this man told me that the company couldn't do anything because their employee was off the clock. Plus, he's the same man who was suppose to have called me back about the assault & I never heard from him until two weeks after the incident. It took my call to OTS to talk to someone. Eventually the CS Mgr came into the picture & replied by letter re: my complaint about the assault. In his reply letter dated November 25, 2014 he wrote, "We subsequently completed this report on October 14, 2014 because we had no jurisdiction to act on this report since the individuals involved were not on-duty or on company premises." This is total BS, per my writings in the above paragraph. More idiotic things happened so I decided to sign up with Legal Shield to have an attorney help me for a reasonable fee which I could afford. I asked her to write a letter to the Head Superintendent at the Pearl City facility because she would be the one to handle the case. It reached the facility, but it was rerouted to the CS Mgr & boy, was I furious when I found out!! This was part of his reply to my attorney dated January 22, 2015, "Contrary to Ms. Liftee's contention and request, we will be taking no further action with our employee in this matter since he was not in uniform during that meeting on September 16, 2014. (This is noted in our files from ******signed written statement dated 12/14/14). Therefore, we have closed our investigation in this matter." 1. The day after the assault, Wednesday September 17th, I called the city Department of Transportation Services & I spoke to the Director of Public Transit. She offered to call OTS HR so someone could call me . ONE WEEK & NO CALL!! 2. I received conflicting info, but the truth came from my friends & the two Assistant Superintendents I mentioned earlier. 3. The CS department took 12 business days to have "subsequently completed" this case from the day I filed my complaint online. Other than me talking with the HR Assistant on Wednesday, September 24th, I figured I should also document it via the online CS Comment form. I filed it on Friday the 26th. 4. It took the CS Mgr 30 business days to type his reply letter to me from the day the report was "subsequently completed" (October 14 to November 25). Why couldn't he type the letter that same day the report was "subsequently completed?" 5. First, the CS Mgr told me "we had no jurisdiction.........." Then he had the nerve to accept the signed written statement TWO MONTHS AFTER THE FACT, TWO MONTHS AFTER THE REPORT WAS "SUBSEQUENTLY COMPLETED." My last hope was through the VP of Transportation, but as I said earlier he wasn't any help at all. I had the courage to tell him via email that management is corrupt. So the guy who assaulted me is on the loose & still making big bucks. Oh, his wife drives too & she's a union rep so that's why her husband is well protected. When you folks drive around & you see an SUV with the L.P. #NUF-KDZ that's them. They live in Ewa Beach/Ewa by Gentr

The husband works for the DOE so he knew the logistics of purchasing a Holo card prior to our adventure. Stopped by at a local 7-11 to grab adult Holo cards (kids Holo cards are NOT available at the stations and can only be purchased at Satellite City Hall or the transit centers). Luckily my boys were under the age limit, so no cards were needed for them. Adult rides are about $3 each way and factoring in our transfers, we were looking at around $7.50 per person. We drove from town to the Pearlridge station, then parked at the Park and Ride lot. About 14 stalls were available, visible and conspicuous from the main road. NO bathrooms at the stations. Trains run every 10 minutes. A friendly attendant was there to keep the premise safe and answer any questions. Trains were clean, safe, and well maintained. We were one of the few families riding the rail which made for a relaxing first experience! If they completed the line to end at Ala Moana, that would have been so convenient. If not in our lifetime, perhaps our boys will see it before their retirement! Lol

When the center was first opened there were restrooms for both the men and women to use. With my most recent layover visit at the transit I noticed that both restroom facilities were padlocked. My guess throughout the years the restrooms were hardly cleaned by the janitors and the facilities ended up having graffiti on the walls, the smell of urine, toilets not flushed, as well as lack of toilet paper, soap, and hand towel. Some days or nights there will be homeless individuals walking around the transit area...I tend to keep my distance when I see a homeless person that smell like urine or bad underarm smell. When I called to find out when I could expect them and to let them know that they had forgotten her brace at Kaiser and she wasn't supposed to be moved without it, the woman (owner) on the phone yelled and hung up on me. An hour and a half after the scheduled arrival time two guys arrived and unloaded my family member on the gurney and left her in the rain while they tried to tell me they didn't want to carry her on the gurney cause it was heavy so they would just carry her on a sheet! I explained that was out of the question as this person was very fragile and not supposed to even lift her head without her brace. These guys had driven away from Kaiser before the nurse could put her brace on and they wanted to move her on a sheet! One guy wound up carrying the front of the gurney and I had to help the other guy with the back of it. The guy in the back was so out of shape he had to stop and catch his breath on every step even though I did most of the lifting. An extra shout-out to our driver, Delson; he was an absolute gem. We rented the bus for four hours on a Saturday, and he was incredible at staying in touch and being exactly where we needed him throughout the night. He even circled back to multiple stops when a few people realized they'd left phones or purses on the bus. We didn't have a set route; everyone wrote down a bar, and we spun the wheel roulette-style, which made the night even more fun. We ended up extending the rental by another two hours and would've gone longer if road closures for the marathon hadn't cut us off. Highly recommend OPB and Delson for any group event! We will definitely be booking again.

After we all jumped back on the bus to cool off we headed to a park where TJ met us with tables ALREADY prepared with birthday table covers, 4 Large Hot Pizzas, and cold drinks ready for us to enjoy. Our last stop was the cherry on top- Daves Ice Cream Shop (personally my favorite ice cream and its MADE IN HAWAII). It was supposed to have a 1,300-stall parking garage attached to an H2 access ramp and bus terminal for Mililani, Wahiawa, and North Shore residents, but it was cut to bring down the total cost of rail. As a result, we have a station that is too large for the number of people using it, but hopefully, we can get more funding for parking and freeway ramp soon. As of now, it's pretty useful to go to Sam's Club (and the attached shopping center) within a 5 minute walk. By bus, you can take a either 531 or 535 to Walmart, or 532 or 535 to Don Quijote via Waimano Home Road. The 533 goes to both on the weekends. I was and am still confused by the bus schedules, so I created a guide in one of the pictures for anyone interested. By car, your only option is to be dropped off. The parking garage has not been built, and your only parking options are at both ends. I'm only giving this station a 3 for now until the parking garage, H2 access ramp, and bus connections to/from Mililani can be created. I wish this station was instead closer to either Acacia or Waimano Home so it would be somewhat more useful, but it's worth a visit for the station alone.
