Called a few days ahead of time to reserve, and was told we'd be texted the driver's info the day prior. We were not and called after business hours luckily they got back to us. It was $30 cash for the service, a good deal for three people compared to a taxi. The driver was on time, and friendly. The van was old but clean I would use them again. read more

We called 24 hours prior to our departure and they were able to accommodate us. They were on time and were able to transport our family of 9 in two vehicles. Chris was our driver and he made the drive enjoyable with great conversation, we will definitely use them again when we come back to Oahu. read more

-reliable -prompt -clean -if cannot do himself, will refer to someone else for same price -$30 from town to airport -much more economical than parking your car in long term parking if you're going away for more than 2 days. and safer! read more

Here are the pros: 1. I called in less than 24 hours from my flight and he accommodated. 2. I thought it was weird that he asked me to call him from the baggage claim and to stay inside until he calls back but then I realized that was to accommodate me. To keep me in the AC for as long as possible. 3. He's a senior citizen but he wanted to load my bags and insisted I wait in the van. 4. His prices were reasonable 5. "I've been doing this 35 years. I know all the tricks. I know how to get you there faster." Cons. Can't think of any. He's on my contacts now because I don't want to use anyone else. read more

I attempted to book a reservation more than 3 days prior to my arrival in Honolulu. I was told quite pointedly that they ONLY book reservations 1-3 days in advance. When I said that i was concerned about them being booked by the time I called, Dave admitted that this was a possibility. When I said that I like to take care of such things in advance, he said that they have issues with "people calling and wanting to do things on their terms and then get snotty with me when I won't do things their way." In my opinion, that is not good customer service. Whatever happened to "the customer is always right?" I work in the hospitality industry and it is not unusual for people to book airport transfers well in advance and certainly more than 3 days out is not unusual. Thank you, but I prefer to spend my money with a business who wants to do business on the customer's terms and not their own. read more

At the last minute, my husband tells me he can't pick me up from my mainland flight...so I call these guys. BOOM. There they are, right outside the doors, waiting for me when I get off my flight. Friendly, flexible and affordable. Van is clean. Driver friendly and safe, no charge for luggage and just me - right to my door - no sharing. I was a little light on cash, so I paid with a credit card and got no heat at all. Seriously. What else can you ask for (besides an airport pick-up from the husband). Then again, I am thinking that the shuttle ride is more reliable than the husband.... read more

I used these guys four times over the course of two back to back trips. Dave (I believe that's his name), the owner, is a bit gruff on the phone, but the driver he assigned to pick me up, Candy, is a real nice lady. Prior to traveling, I was given the instructions as to how the pick up would go down. They would be monitoring my flight so they could see if I was on time or delayed. Upon landing and retrieving my bag, I was to call and indicate that I was ready to leave. They would tell me exactly where to stand and *boom*, I'd be whisked away. It went just like that. When we were wheels down in HNL, I turned on my phone. I had a message from Candy, introducing herself as the driver who would be taking me to my hotel and that I should give her a call when I had my bag and was ready to go. Went to baggage claim, walked out and called her. Within a couple of minutes, she was at the curb and off my partner and I went. During the trip to the hotel, I asked about paying with a credit card. Candy hesitated because I suspect she wanted the cash out right. I hesitated because I was saving the cash for my final destination. After a little back and forth, it was clear I wasn't paying with anything but the CC. When I told her what time I wanted to be picked up the next day, she was there early and ready to go. She got us back to the airport, no muss no fuss. I indicated that I'd need pick up service the following Friday and she said to just call her direct. When I came back, the same procedures applied on my arrival and she took me to my hotel. Three days later, she picked up the FOH and I at our hotel to take us back to the airport. This is where stars are lost. She had her other half in the van, which I suppose isn't that big of a deal, but very slightly unprofessional. The worst part was that she took a personal phone call as we got closer to the airport. We hit unexpected traffic and took a little longer to get to the airport than expected, so just as we got off the highway, I wanted her to get a jump start on getting the credit card approval so we could arrive curbside and get going. She was still on the phone, so I said, "Candy, let's get the credit card started". She told her friend she had to go, but apparently the friend kept on talking. So did she. Finally, I waved the credit card in the air and said, "Let's do this. Now." All in all, very reliable and I would recommend Candy to anyone needing car service to Waikiki. We paid 30.00 each time for the two of us and all of our bags. Don't try to take a cheaper route to the hotels like my FOH did...he thought he'd save a few bucks and he ended up taking a much longer route because of so many stops. PM me if you'd like Candy's cell. I told her I'd like to give it to anyone who may need transportation arrangements and if I returned to HNL, I would certainly call upon her. read more

Dave must either need a vacation, or he seriously lacks the aloha spirit. The other reviewer was not exaggerating about his apathetic, discourteous attitude or about getting lectured by him. He does a stellar job at giving tongue lashings that's for sure. Perhaps he should consider renaming his business to Nazi Airport Express! Before you're convinced by anything in Dave's long-winded rebuke of the other reviewer, we WERE paying customers, but will NEVER patronize this business again nor recommend them to anyone. Other than the apparent arrogance and rudeness of the owner, here is what happened to us. In December 2010, we hired this shuttle service upon our return home to Oahu. Because our plane arrived during the H-1 rush hour traffic jam, Dave sent what appeared to be an off-duty, rundown taxi cab which included a filthy backseat littered with a child's lost shoe, a regular-sized umbrella and other personal bits of junk like wrappers and paper that belonged better in a garbage can. After climbing into the smelly vehicle, the "cab" driver proceeded to explain that Dave probably didn't want to get stuck in bumper to bumper traffic and that this might be the reason why he received the call to pick us up. Whatever the case, at least we were home and could jump into a hot shower after sitting in a pig pen for the 45 minute ride. This is another perfectly valid reason why we will never call on this company again. read more

Can't believe it took me this long to write a review. I have used this service a few times and I only have good things to say. They are on time, professional, courteous and helpful. Their vans are well maintained and their communication is great. I use them primarily for travel to and from the airport, and I would feel completely comfortable giving their information to anyone visiting Oahu. Thanks again David for starting and ending my travel with ease! read more

What can I say? Punctual, professional and courteous! Dave also promises to pick you up at the airport if he's the one dropping you off. Forget parking in the lots at Honolulu International, this shuttle service is fantastic and very affordable! Takes the worry out of getting to your flight! Highly recommended. For $30 bucks and up to 4 peeps in a private van, just outside the terminal gates...a good deal. * Called two days before my trip. * Dave answered and was nice on the phone. Yeah, it's not a friendly lady voice on the other end, but come on - how often do you get that friendly smile and service from a Budget, Hertz, Avis rental ladies? * His wife picked us up at the airport. - On time - Easy to find - just outside the doors - very friendly - Drive was all streets (my dest. was Hilton Village) - Wife and I ( but $30 for up to 4 peeps I believe) - Talkative during the drive - gave some nice tips, and just a friendly person. - Van was nice. Nothing high-class but compared to normal cab, the van was better. Overall: * Will use again. * Not *high* class limo status, but very and better than cab. * Friendly * Will use again * Will recommend to friends read more

I usually cab it when I need a ride to and from the airport in Honolulu but I'm also not usually travelling with an entourage either. So when I needed to make arrangements for me, my sister, bro-in-law and nephew, I decided to find a shuttle to take the stress out of the ride to our hotel. I called a few days before our flight and requested a mini-van (in addition to us, we had a lot of luggage LOL). Dave took down my info and also gave me instructions on what to do once we got our luggage. Once we arrived at HNL and grabbed our luggage, I called again to let them know we were ready to be picked up. Our driver was already there waiting, so we loaded up and were on our way. Candy was our driver and she was really nice, but kinda spacy. So much so that we almost didn't call for a return ride to the airport. I didn't really mind so much, but my sister had an expectation of more service, which I'll admit was a bit lacking. But hey, a $30 ride to the airport is pretty cheap, so I called again to make a reservation. I asked if we would be getting Candy again and Dave said he wasn't sure. So fast forward to getting to the airport. I called to see where our driver was because it was a few minutes after our pickup time. Dave answered and said he was on his way as the other driver was stuck somewhere. Once Dave arrived, he quickly loaded the minivan and we were on our way. We had a nice conversation with him on the way to the airport - we told him about our previous experience - my sister really laid it out for him. I think he did well answering her concerns as diplomatically as possible. And as far as the experience with him, it was stellar - he gave us the kind of service that I expect from an executive/towncar type service. Bottom line - I would not hesitate to use this service again and would definitely recommend for travelers to Oahu. As an owner, Dave gets it and I happily support those types of people/businesses. read more

I would recommend this shuttle service to everyone! for these reasons... 1. your own personal shuttle. airport STRAIGHT to your hotel (not a big bus with multiple stops on waikiki to drop of 10 other parties) 2. the driver is there waiting for you to pick you up right away (no waiting!) 3. the driver definitely knows the city well they know when to SPEED up and SLOW down :) (you get where you need to be without being late) 4. BEST deal on service.$30.00 flat rate for 1-4 people in the waikiki area. (other places charge about 15-25 dollars a person.) 5. DAVE IS HILARIOUS! he gives great instruction on where we are to meet him/ the driver. my family and i had the best ride back to the airport and it was a great way to end our stay in Oahu with some fun conversation and funny stories from Dave! You will not be upset. If you need to get somewhere quick and dont want to deal with other strangers from the airport this is the way to go, dont bother calling any other service. read more

I found Dave's Oahu Airport Express on Yelp, and understood the qualifications on how to book. They are clearly stated on the company website. I made a phone reservation, no problem, and Dave himself arrived to take me to the airport. He was professional, friendly, prompt, and a good driver. The shuttle was clean and comfortable. We had a little snafu that was entirely my own fault, and Dave graciously accommodated me. Arrival was on-time, and we had a pleasant conversation on the way. I needed a return pick-up, and he was going to be on vacation, so he recommended another service for my return. I appreciated his courtesy in connecting me with a reliable alternative even though it was with a potential competitor. I have just booked another trip with Oahu Airport Express, and I recommend them to anyone wanting a reliable and enjoyable pick-up/drop-off. read more

NO where else are you going to find the service that you will find with Dave. I called him on Sunday afternoon for a pick up on Monday for the three of us. I meant to call sooner but it was after 9 PM Hawaii time and I didn't want to wake him. His reply: Oh, you could have called!" Anyhow, I got off the plane and there was a voice mail waiting for me. It was Dave, checking to see where we were. He then guided me to where he was and who could miss him, waving and all bubbly. He was RIGHT outside the baggage claim so we did not have to walk very far. He loaded up all of our luggage and then took us to our hotel. Along the way my guys had a nice hilarious conversation with Dave about hammers and Hawaii. He had us in stitches! The ride went too fast!! Dave unloaded our luggage for us and wished us well. I tipped him an extra $10 because, well, he really deserved it. My only regret: Not buying some of Daves 100% Kona Coffee. Next time I will!! 100% worth your money, just for Daves entertainment!! The rest of it all is just bonuses, but good bonuses. We will DEFINITELY use Dave again on our next trip to Hawaii. read more

Oahu Airport Express is convenient and relatively inexpensive. Sure, for two people riding on one of the buses is cheaper, but you also cannot schedule your pickup to suit your own personal schedule - plus you waste a lot of time just sitting on the bus standing still. Dave picked us up EXACTLY on time, and had us to the airport very soon after. I'll likely use his company for both directions next time I am in Honolulu. read more

This was my first time in Hawaii, but I think this is the only way to be picked up. Was traveling with family and needed something low maintenance and Dave delivered that. The reservations worked exactly as the website said and if he picks you up he'll find a way to drop you off at the end of the trip, even if your flight gets changed four times! Much better than waiting for shuttles to drop off other people, so you can start your vacation immediately. Can't wait to go back to Hawaii so Dave can take us to our next destination! read more

I found Oahu Airport Express using Yelp. I called 4 days prior to my arrival to HNL (Jan 10). Dave was professional and took down my information. He provided me with instructions upon arrival. My flight was on United and it was very easy to find him once I got my luggage. I also made arrangements for him to pick me up at 0500 at my hotel for the return to the airport. I enjoyed the direct services of the shuttle. I enjoyed the pleasant conversation with Dave. As a US Navy Reservist, Dave shared with me his experience as a former SAR swimmer. For those wanting to support a professional, local company that is Veteran owned, hands down go with Oahu Airport Express. Keep in mind that Dave employs other drivers so you may not be as fortunate to get Dave nonetheless, his company provides reliable with overall value from/to the airport on the island. Information on myself. Sales Executive, mid 40's. For me convenience is a priority but also is professional, friendly makes my short list. read more

This is another instance where I just LOVE Yelp for introducing me to something I probably never would've found on my own. This shuttle service is awesome -- it's like having your own personal driver! For a party of 1-4 people, it's a flat $30 fee. It can't get any better than that! You need to book the shuttle 1-3 days before your departure or arrival date and make sure to have your flight info on hand! read more

Reliable and on time. Clean mini van. Nice driver. $30 for up to 4 people plus tip from airport to Waikiki. I agree with Michele D about Dave of Passport Shuttle (also "Dirt Cheap Shuttle")--he can be a be a little rough to talk to, but the service is impeccable. And, he's nicer in person. Dave picked us up at HNL--right on time. Great communication--very easy to contact. When going back to the airport from our Waikiki hotel, he sent Bill to come pick us up. Bill's really nice and his estimate of how long it'd take to get the airport was right on--I secretly timed him. =D Yay Bill! Both trips were stress-free. Very simple. No confusions--and they give you a private minivan--which makes it even more comfortable. $30 flat rate + tip to/from Waikiki. Gets you to your destination quickly. read more

Thank you for everything! We appreciated the peace of mind that we would have our own shuttle driver waiting for us upon arrival. No sharing and no other stops. Just straight to your destination. Oahu Airport Express is the best shuttle service!!! Dave was on time and made the trip a pleasant one. Our flight was delayed two hours and he was aware of it and was there when we arrived. i needed a ride back to the airpor to pick up a rental car and Dave took care of us again! The van was very clean and it was a nice ride to the hotel. We didnt have to worry about our luggage as he took care of everything! i would highly reccommend that if you are looking for a shuttle service use Oahu Airport Express!!!! I know that if I come back to Honolulu I will use them again! read more

I just called to schedule an airport pickup for tomorrow evening, but I guess I waited a little too late to schedule. However, the person who helped me was very friendly on the phone and referred me to one of their "friendly competitors". I called the number he gave me and set the appointment with the other company, who also seemed very friendly. I think it is a pretty stand up move to offer to help people out by giving referrals even though he knew he wasn't getting the business from me. Keep up the good work, wish I could have booked with you. read more

Called for transportation. Person who answered the phone was not very patient and refused to pick me up because he assumed I couldn't wait 1.5 to 2 hours to be picked up. I give 2 stars because he picked up the phone promptly. read more

I am definitely a list making planner so a few weeks ago when I started thinking about transportation from the airport to Waikiki, I decided on Oahu. I visited their website where it says to please call 1-3 days in advance. Imagine my surprise today (Monday) when I called and they informed be that they were already booked for Thursday. If I had known that I could book outside the 1-3 day window, I would have called 2 weeks ago. Needless to say, I will not be using the other shuttle service that they recommended. read more

One call, all within one minute, is all the time it took to book with Dirt Cheap Shuttle. There's no need to tip the driver at all because it's a flat fee of $30 to the Waikiki hotels. I am traveling with my family that includes children and I called to make a reservation a few weeks in advance. Dave was extremely rude and said that he did not take reservations in advance. I asked him when I could make a reservation he indicated 1 to 3 days in advance. But oh Dave said we may be booked up and not be able to pick your family up. What a aweful way to do business. This company smells kind of sketchy to me and I would not take the chance of putting my precious family in this guys car. What a creeper!! I would rate ZERO or less of this business. : ( This guy sure does not have the Aloha spirit. Don't ruin your day vacation Go with another honest company that is happy to provide service for your business. If in doubt just read this jerks comment that he duplicated from 01/09/2012 complaint. Used these guys again for my recent hop to the Big Isle. They were right on time and smooth as before. Shooting 2 for 2 now.

I have had the pleasure of using Oahu Airport Express many times over the years. Dave provides an exemplary, dependable, and honest service that has become a permanent part of our twice yearly travel to Hawaii. I travel with my elderly mother and daughter, we have always felt safe and secure with Dave / Oahu Airport Express. To reaffirm the other recent reviews: Big Dave (aka. Big Kahuna) was personable, prompt and courteous and gives insights to the local situation and the shuttle business on the ride back and forth from HNL to Waikiki. I booked by shuttle pick up on Wednesday, April 5th for pick up from Honolulu airport on Thursday April 7th at 11:30am. While on the phone he (I forgot the mans name but he ended up also being our driver) seemed slightly impatient and pushy but nothing that would put me off of booking the shuttle, they had a good price and mostly good reviews on yelp so I wasn't too worried about it. It turned out the driver that was scheduled to pick us up was held up on a previous drive so I believe it was the owner who picked us up. He was on time and texted me while we were waiting for our luggage that he was outside and waiting for us, which was great! Once in the van and on our way to our hotel the driver offered to take the long way to show us around town, we declined as we wanted to hit the beach as soon as possible but he seemed put off by our reply. He then proceeded to talk about web design and web building the entire rest of our drive to our hotel, which was not a conversation we wanted to have as we arrived in Hawaii for the first time. When we did ask questions, he was smug and made us feel like the questions were kind of stupid. We were scheduled to be picked up by Oahu Airport Express but due to the bad taste the first driver gave us, we cancelled and booked a different shuttle service, which went WAY better. read more

I recently used the services of the Oahu Airport Express and it was beyond my expectations. Looked online to make reservations but they need a 72 hr window prior to your scheduled transportation. Called the office to book my transfer and Jeff was extremely helpful and pleasant to speak with. He took down the necessary information in a quick manner and everything was set. The driver even called later that evening to confirm the pick-up as I left early the next morning. The driver again the morning of the pick up to let me know he was there but to take my time. The entire ride to the airport the driver talked story. My overall experience was exceptional. At little shocking as the driver always said ma'am. Not used to that but that sets them apart from the other companies. read more

Dave and his crew of drivers are great. Made both ends of our trip very easy, especially when we returned from a 30 hour trip from Budapest. All we had to do was claim our luggage and we out of the Airport in no time at all. The service is fantastic, vans very clean, drivers friendly and on time(actually early).
