I haven't a clue of why people are rating this store so lowly. I have purchased over 6 pairs of rx sunglasses, and eyeglasses here-and had nothing but outstanding service from the staff. I feel like I'm right at home here. They do accomidate you, and your needs in a friendly manner. If you want a place to get an eye exam where you don't feel pressured, or breathed on by an employee-this is the perfect place. I rate them 5 stars for their hospitality, and the efficiency of their services. Shame on the 1-2 stars. I have been going here for a long while-take it from me!!! read more

The people were nice however the glasses they gave me were not the correct prescription and because they used the insurance for the glasses I'd have to pay completely out of pocket to have them fix their mistake. No thanks! First and last time I'll go here. read more

Note - the email I used is anonymous on purpose. I have left a coupe of reviews on local sites as well as Pearle Vision itself. The employees at Pearle Vision in Webster, NY were fantastic. I want to point out an employee who has excellent customer service, you can tell she truly cares about her patients and her commitment to her job.I will only use her name abbreviation for safety but CK was/is a wonderful employee to work with. She was very patient with me (I usually have lots of questions and can be very picky) but it didn't even cross her mind I was taking up a lot of her time which I thought was amazing. She helped me find the perfect eyeglasses I wanted. I had already looked at a total of 2500+ Rx glasses online.I told the person with me I seriously doubted a local store like this would not have what I wanted. I was VERY wrong, and she insisted I look locally instead of buying another crooked pair online with the PD vision being incorrect in my progressive lenses to go to Pearle Vision in Webster. The last 2 pair I purchased online were a disaster buying online and I never wore them. I walked in not even thinking I was going to buy. But I did thanks to CK. I left after spending over $850+ (I bought a designer pair with lots of bells and whistles before the insurance and discounts brought down the price significantly) and I know I will love the pair I get. They had to order them and she had to take special measurements due to my eyes) All companies should have employees like her to help with revenue and happy customers. I will absolutely return to Pearle in the future for all my glasses needs. Sunglasses next and for a long time to come. I recently had an eye exam and purchased glasses at Pearle. The optometrist was efficient and professional. This is the 6th pair of glasses I have purchased at Pearle. The staff always is helpful and very good at helping you pick the right glasses. They take their time and educate you about all the different choices in lenses. They adjust my glasses whenever I go in and are very happy to do it. I would highly recommend this store. read more

Update 2/14/18 - So since it has been a few years and Pearle is the closest place that takes my child's insurance, I decided to give Pearle another shot and scheduled appointments for myself and my 6-year-old for 2/17/18. I received a call today from Holly or Molly who snottily asked me if I was aware I scheduled for Webster and when I said yes, said in the nastiest tone "Well, you were SOOOOOOOOO unhappy last time". I started to say that if they didn't want my business then I could just cancel the appointment when she hung up on me and canceled it on her own. This location is atrocious and the Pacers need to hire and train better workers or find another line of business to be in. I guess they have no desire to win back lost business due to the previous unprofessional behavior of the people they employ. ----- My child had a vision screening at her 3 year appointment and passed, however my pediatrician suggested that prior to her beginning preschool this year that she attend a regular eye exam as both her father and I, and all of her siblings wear glasses and some of us have done so since early childhood. She explained to me that their vision screening only catches certain problems and that I would need a regular eye exam to see if she needed glasses. She suggested to me, and I checked with my eye insurance, and they also suggest that the first eye exam with an optometrist be at age 3. So since the rest of our 7 member family uses Pearle Vision (we spend a lot on glasses with 5 of us already in glasses and contacts!), we made our appointment for my 3 year old with Pearle on Holt Road in Webster NY where my husband and I get our contacts and glasses and where we take our three older children. I had no problems making the appointment. I received a reminder email on Monday, the day before the scheduled appointment. Upon walking into the store for her appointment Tuesday night, the optometrist immediately, and rudely asked how old my daughter was. My husband told her that she was three, and she kicked back in her seat and shook her head and said no, they can't do eye exams on three-year-olds, it is impossible. I am well aware that it is, in fact, possible to perform an accurate eye exam on a three-year-old because I know plenty of parents who have children under the age of 3 in glasses. She told us my daughter needed to know her alphabet, to which I responded "she does" and the woman just shrugged and continued to sit there, staring out the window. My husband tried to show her that our daughter could read her letters, but she didn't bother paying attention and my daughter was getting upset and refusing to read them because she had been excited about her first eye exam. She then nastily informed me that children receive vision screenings from the pediatrician, to which my husband and I both attempted to tell her that we already did that, and that it was recommended by her to come get an actual eye exam and that those screenings were NOT THE SAME (they ARENT); But she kept interrupting by shaking her head no, and saying they can't do it. She never once stood up, she spoke to us very rudely, and just refused to do it. She never made eye contact with us, just crossed her arms with a bored look on her face, and REFUSED. Now if this particular optometrist is not trained to administer an eye exam to anyone under the age of 5, or their policy doesn't allow it to be done, or they don't purchase the technology to administer exams to non-verbal children or those who otherwise cannot read letters, that is certainly just fine - however, the nasty attitude was uncalled for. I certainly will not be using Pearle any longer for our family. I am especially irritated because we just took the two older boys in for glasses, and now I wish that I brought that business elsewhere. Unfortunately, their glasses are already on order, and I already used their insurance for the eye exam at Pearle, but our next round of exams and new glasses will NOT be with your company and will NOT be with any other of your affiliated companies. By the way, I am required to enter my daughters birthday when I made her appointment online. You'd think they could have informed me about their refusal to do it BEFORE my husband and I left work early to bring her in and drive all the way there? Nope, they just waited til right when we walked in. No greeting. No "Hello!" just "HOW OLD IS SHE WE DON'T SEE THREE YEAR OLDS" Lastly, I want to point out that she had zero issues performing an accurate eye exam and prescribing lenses to our 4 year old, and our 3 year old who was denied an exam knows her letters and numbers better than he does. read more

Did not have a good experience. Staff has no personality. Kept saying my insurance would not pull up but still want to charge me $100 for less than 2 minutes of an eye exam. I called insurance company and everything was fine and in order. I will continue going to Reed Eye Associates. read more

This place is amazing! They have a great selection of glasses. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. They werent pushy or overbearing like Lens Crafters. They took the time to help me pick out just the right pair of glasses. My new glasses were ready in about a week and i was very pleased with them. No. Just No. I only chose this place because I could make the appointments online. Don't be lazy like me, just call a *different* place. The Dr. here is the absolute RUDEST person I have ever met in my life. She more or less told me I was out of luck after a few attempts at finding comfortable contact lenses and I should just wear glasses. She rushed me through the exam and out of the door.........acting as if I was a total nuisance in her life. Really? That's how a DOCTOR who's supposed to HELP people reacts? You just give up? Cool. Absolute WASTE of money and time going here. I now have to go to a DIFFERENT EYE DOCTOR and pay OUT OF POCKET there because this office was completely useless and I used up my insurance on this dump. I went in after scheduling an appointment for a contact lens fitting. I waited for over half an hour, and finally got in. The woman had me read off charts (I already had a prescription) and proceeded to tell me that I was legally blind in one eye. She refused to fit me for lenses, claiming that my eyesight was too bad for them. I later went to another place and got fitted, and was reassured by my ophthalmologist that I was not legally blind. People were nice. these are the lowest quality lenses and frames I have ever had. the lenses move around in the frames every time I clean them and they are progressive lenses and they are "aimed" incorrectly so I cannot wear them on my head where they should be. I have to pull them down to see out the correct place. read more

So I was just reading some of the recent reviews of this location and was kind of disappointed in what was being said. Not denying someone else's experience but I have been going to this location since it opened and have had nothing but positive experiences! Not only do I go there but my husband, 5 year old son, mom, dad, step father, step mother, mother in law, and father in law see the doctor there and have gotten our glasses there for something like 4 years. My first time taking my son in for an eye exam I thought was going to be a nightmare just because he was 4 at the time but the doctor was great and was able to engage him right away and able to complete the exam pain free! Their selection is great, I'm kind of a coach snob, and they have tons of frames to choose from and I am now the proud owner of 2 pairs of regular glasses and sunglasses as well. They were also super helpful when the sunglasses were broken in helping me replace the frames and keeping the lens within my budget. I also wear contacts regularly and they have always been great at helping me find the best fit and product for my needs, I'm a nurse and wear them for long hours when I am at work. They also worked miracles on my husband's frames when the kid tried to fold them in half! They have been super kind and patient with my son every time I have had to bring him in with me, he gets a little amped up around all the new and interesting things to look at! I have recommended this location to friends, family, and coworkers for many years and was excited to see the doctor was one that I had seen at LensCrafters many years ago. I would not seek care for my eyes anywhere else at this point and have nothing but good things to say about the owner, doctor, and other staff members. They have been helpful, kind, patient, and easy to work with providing quality care at an affordable price! Even if you don't live in Webster, I live in Irondequoit, it is worth the extra few minutes to get to this location for all the wonderful things they have done for myself and my family! read more

My family and I have been coming here for a few years. They have always been efficient and helpful. Anytime we needed help with selecting glasses, they helped us find the best fit for both our price range and style. We all wear contacts and the doctor has always given us a thorough exam explaining everything to us.Anytime I had any questions, the doctor was more than helpful with her answers. Also, even though they are not listed under the DMV website for the state license exam, they also provided the service. We've always had a positive experience here and will continue to go to Pearle Vision for all of our eye needs. read more

I went here yesterday & had an eye exam. I paid $100.00 for it. The doctor told me & I have cataracts in both eyes & need surgery. I had questions - she told me to Google them. There was no one else in the place the whole time I was there (including the 1/2 hour I was looking at their meager supply of frames), but she didn't have 10 minutes to address my questions. She also told me I should be drying to my eyes with salt water drops. My eye surgeon told me years ago to use a wetting solution. I asked the doctor about her opposite advice & she again told me to Google it. I called corporate HQ this morning. I have never been treated so badly by any health care professional. I was surprised by all of the bad reviews. I went last Saturday and they were pleasant and helpful. I had an eye exam and was told I needed a prescription, after experiencing blurring and headaches at work where I am on a computer all day (been two years since I had my eyes checked). They were efficient but didn't rush me to select a pair of glasses. My glasses came in a few days after the exam and I would definitely go back! Best eye exam experience I've had (previously went to Empire vision and Lenscrafters - both were horrible experiences with me being there hours for a simple eye exam). read more

I wanted to take time say what a great place this is. My eyes are pretty important to me as they are to others. This Doctor takes time to explain things to her patients. They have a great selection of glasses and I know I like to look first and then look for help from team that works there for advice . They are always patient and help me find the best pair of glasses for me. When the glasses come in they are right there to help make sure they fit perfect and answer any questions. I will always go back to this Pearle Vision . They are professional, knowledgable and make the shopping experience fun.
