The Roseville location made an error when ordering frames for my child. He is 13 and he had chosen a black frame. The one that arrived were red and made any acne even more noticeable. They acknowledged their error and of course agreed to correct it. That was until the store manager, Alvin heard about it. He called me at work and tried to convince me to take the incorrect glasses. When I refused he became very disrespectful, condescending and rude. He told me that I would have to wait indefinitely for the frames my child wanted because they weren't in stock anyway. I tried ask why we had to wait indefinitely and Alvin yelled at me. He said that he has already told me enough times and that he had waisted enough time on me. I said, "well maybe I'm just stupid.." Alvin interrupted me to say," I think you found the right word". I went to Pearl vision Roseville after work to try to talk to a different employee. Alvin insisted on talking to me, even though I was already speaking to a different employee and I told him I was not comfortable talking to him. I ended up asking for a copy of my prescription and I left. Alvin did tell me that I would have to wait 30 days before I could go to another store. More than 30 days later, I went to Pearl vision West St Paul. That is where I learned that my insurance had been billed for glasses for my child, and that he would not be eligible for another pair for 2 years. They assured me that they could find a way around it, and ordered the black frames that my child wanted. The next day they called and left a voicemail saying they tried but they were not able to order glasses for my child. I then called Pearl vision Roseville to try to speak with Dr Meyer as he is owner of the store. I wanted to give him the opportunity do the right thing. But Alvin answered and told me that I couldn't talk to him, then he hung up on me. I called back and spoke to a very friendly employee. I asked that person to ask Dr Meyer to call me at his convenience when he was back in the office the following Monday. I didn't receive a phone call from DR Meyer. I stopped in Pearl vision Roseville to see if I could speak with Dr Meyer. I hoped to straighten it out without going to the state and filing a fraud investigation. I approached an employee who was not helping anyone. Unfortunately Alvin was there. He was with a customer, but he stood up, came across the room and started yelling at me. He said that I must leave immediately and threatened to call the police. Fortunately my child recorded that whole interaction. I wish I had made contact with Dr Meyer. He seems to be a good guy. My 2 sons and I have been customers of his for years. I believe he would have resolved the problem simply by getting my kid the glasses he had been charged for. A very simple solution. And I would have been happy. But Alvin prevented that. And now I am stuck with no glasses for my child, even though my insurance has been changed for it. So I have no choice but to file a fraud investigation. Since my child has state insurance, the fraud is against the state. Alvin is rude, condescending and disrespectful. I am not sure what the motivation is behind this. Is it because we have state insurance and he won't make any extra on up charges? Is it because I challenged him as a woman? I really have no idea but I am very uncomfortable and fearful that he has access to my information. read more

Went online to double check the appointment time online for myself and my husband to find out that they were cancelled. Called them and was told that we are permanently banned from Pearle since we have had too many no shows and they have left countless messages for us. My husband has medical issues and yes, we have had to cancel appointments and by cancel, I mean that we cancelled before the appointment and were never a "no-show" Furthermore, we have never received any phone calls or voicemails from this establishment concerning our appointments. When we called a second time to discuss the situation, the person answered the phone and said "f*** off and hung up. Is this how we do business now. We will never darken the doorstep of this craphole again. And to top it off, we were giving them a SECOND CHANCE after they grossly overcharged us back in 2015. read more

First off, I have filed a police report against an employee at their store. I am also dealing with the corporate compliance official to get this handled. Do not support the Roseville, Eagan or West St. Paul stores under a terrible GM. I am a returning customer that was going to buy glasses, contacts and replace my lenses with all the accoutrements on my prior pair of glasses. Upon purchasing my glasses I wanted to use a coupon for contacts and 40% off glasses. The employee said she could not honor this. Another employee stepped in and was great. Honored the coupon on their site. I buy the glasses and test the contacts. Next day after purchase I realize there was a price discrepancy because the employee was mad. Okay whatever I'm out $130. But I want to find out if this is the true cost. The worst employee ever takes notes and is nice when I reach out to the GM on Friday. Monday same employee calls and is rude now and says mi info is inaccurate. I call and he just fights with me until I get upset and fight back. He hangs up. I call from my work phone and the GM answered. Just as rude and demeaning. Fighting like a middle school bully. I say okay, I am done with Pearle Vision then. And I will just return my glasses and go elsewhere. He says nope, they are custom and can't be returned. That was an easy busy upon searching their site and finding a 30 day return policy. 2 weeks later, the dumbest employee ever calls me out of nowhere at 9:12pm to call me a Karen. First off, this Jaren movement is a joke. If you get treated poorly as a customer you're a Karen? This future homeless individual with their awful social behavior will go nowhere in life. He leaves his name and company from the company phone number on my voicemail. Now I feel threatened and unsafe with an individual with my information. Calling me well after this all happened and after I long let it go. I hope you lose your job. Next step will be a restraining order against them. And then I will be suing your company for harassment thanks to this terrible pile of garbage you allowed on your staff. And I believe the GM was there during this call at 9:12pm well after business should call individuals. GM you created an awful team outside of 1 person that I clearly noted in all my reports. You need to get fired also for your horrible customer service skills. read more

I would not recommend this place at all. I had a valid current prescription from this office but they would not honor it and said I had to do an eye exam all over again. I brought it to a different office and was able to use it there. Don't waste your time and effort at this place. read more

i've been a customer of Pearle Vision for many years. I had an appointment on March 27, that had been rescheduled a few times. I received a call from Pearle Vision during dinner. Thinking it was to confirm my appointment, I answered the phone. A man began screaming at me that I had missed too many appointments and was fired as a client from all Pearle Vision locations. There were no details given to me about any sort of missed appointment policy. I've given them over $500 for lenses that I never received. I have open the case with the Better Business Bureau. I suggest you never go to Pearle Vision, especially the one on Lincoln Drive in Roseville. I've had very good luck at target and will go there from now on. If I could give a zero star I would. The doctor was great and very cordial. The reason for my visit was to get designer frames that other brick and mortar stores do not carry, as my Burberry frames simply wore out after 10 years. The older gentleman others have railed about turned out to the one to help me. He actually was having a good day, but he was very snotty once we got to talking about my insurance (MNCare). Anyways, I went in there expecting to pay $300-350 for a pair of glasses, as Target Optical was around $250-275. Lo and behold, the lenses themselves were going to be $350-400 before the frames!! A pair of designer glasses was going to be a whopping $600-650!! I was completely disgusted, as the Armani Exchange setup I was looking at Target Optical was coming to around $280, and even cheaper online. I got my prescription, but of course they refused to give the pd number, which I expected. Off to Target Optical I went. I'll write a separate review about them. The short of it was that Target Optical was a night and day experience. The identically spec'd lenses: high def laser cut poly-carbonated, with anti-scratch and anti-reflective were $210 (on-sale) instead of Pearl's $400. Yes you read that right, lens price only. Out the door price on the Armani's were less than half the Pearl's price at $290. Quite honestly I have no idea how Pearl stays in business, because I would have gotten those same glasses for even cheaper online. Oh BTW, I asked the Target lady for my PD numbers, and she happily obliged, and said, "of course!! You need those. Here you go." Nuff said. read more

I got an eye exam at this location this morning and intended to use my prescription to order frames from an online store. After printing my prescription, I asked the rep to measure my pupillary distance, which is necessary to order frames. He informed me that they will not do so unless I'm purchasing frames from them. I found this unusual, so after I left, I contacted another Pearle Vision location; the rep there told they'd be happy to provide that measurement and that they were shocked the rep from the Roseville store would not. I then called back to the Roseville store and spoke with a different rep who told me they can provide that measurement. The initial rep flatly lied to me in order to prevent me from taking my frame order elsewhere. It is unethical to lie to patients in order to protect the sales rep's commission. I will never go to this location again. read more

Nope. My husband needed to use up his flex savings for the year and came in for an eye exam and some sun glasses. I decided that I should get my eyes checked. I'm in my mid 40s and have no eye sight issues with reading or distance but thought It doesn't hurt and opted for the bonus mapping (or whatever it was called). My husband made both of the appointments and there was a bit of a gap in between. After he was done, he picked out some frames and I asked one of the workers if I was next. Nope, there was still another 20 minutes til mine. So I walked across the parking lot, got a couple sodas, and was back 10 minutes later-still ten minutes before the appointment. Two minutes later the doctor walks out with a child and his mom and then he called my name. I walked back and the dr commented "third time's a charm". I replied with a "hunh" and he expanded that he had called out my name twice before. I didn't expect a weird passive aggressive exchange so I ignored it. I sit down in the exam chair and the dr says "here for new glasses?" I state that I'm. Not sure, never had them but thought I'd just get my eyes checked just in case. He then replied "oh, everybody needs glasses". I said, " I think this over" and got right back up and walked out of the exam room over to my husband who was just checking out. He seemed surprised and asked what happened. I told him and then the doctor commented loudly that I was just being a "hothead" and "couldn't take a joke". At that point I did snap back and said that he "could instead be more professional" and then walked out. read more

I would rate less than 1 star if that was an option. I purchased eyeglasses & contacts on 6/2/23, total purchase was $370.04. On 6/7/23, at 13:39, Pearle Vision contacted me to inform me that my contacts were ready for pickup, but glasses were not ready. Which made sense, considering they informed me that my glasses would take up to 2 weeks to arrive. I picked up my contacts on 6/8/23 and confirmed with the representative that my glasses were not in the store and they would contact me once my glasses were ready. On 6/22/23, I contacted Pearle Vision to inquire about glasses as 2 weeks had passed, and I had not received a phone call. The representatives informed me that MY GLASSES that I paid $223.96 for were picked up on 6/17/23. However, I never picked up my glasses, nor did I send someone else to pick them up. Wondering why they refused to check the cameras they state work and wondering why I am out of this money and no product, while your company continues with your fraud. AND if this wasn't enough, I was told I HAD to have a NEW contact exam because my old exam expired, to which I had to pay $59 out of pocket. According to my insurance company and YOUR records, I was not due to have a contact exam until June 2024 not June 2023 and I have receipts and printouts from your fraudulent company stating this. Yet I had to pay for this fraud too. It is disgusting to do this to anyone, especially medical assistance recipients. read more

Great customer service! I have sometimes tried to go to Vision World located a floor above, lured in by the cheaper frame prices, but I always end up back here. I always get so frustrated by the apathy at VW and little knowledge. The eye exam prices are better at PV as well. Stay away from VW and go here! read more

I love this place. I came here yesterday for an eye exam and to purchase new glasses. Julie the optician is probably THE nicest lady I have ever met! She was so helpful and kind. She helped me pick out new frames with patience and friendliness. I never felt rushed. I was there a long time! They have so many nice choices for ladies glasses. Dr. Watson is such a lovely eye doctor. I had a great experience and I love my new contacts and I can't wait to pick up my new glasses! I also love them because they have nice restrooms AND a baby changing table. Lenscrafters did not have any restrooms for customers and no place to change a baby. This really makes a huge difference. I will be coming here from now on for all my eye-care needs! Thank you Pearle Vision for being awesome. read more

I stopped in today to get my glasses. 4 employees and myself, found my glasses right away and handed me the tray.....I looked at them and said don't you adjust and clean them? No response and tried them on and could thhey have been adjusted and cleaned...YES. We're they interested in helping out? NO. I brought my own frames since I've had not had them a year and they were expensive, still spent over $500. Had to beg for a cleaning cloth and ask for a glass case to and was like pulling teeth to get a receipt. I tried calling the manager but was unavailable and will try tomorrow......awful, terrible and that's being polite. I will never go back there and would encourage others to do the same. Costco will be my home for decent glasses, fair price and fantastic customer service. Manager was to call the next day and so far no return call. I've called the store a few times to talk with the manager and oh she'll call you right back she has the messages. Horrible service and leadership!!!!!! read more

I give this Pearle Vision location 2 stars (instead of 1 star) only because of the Doctor (Dr. Meyer). He is a great eye doctor, and I would definitely recommend him in different circumstances. The problem with this location is that the rest of the staff is very rude and unpleasant. Talking with the staff about insurance questions I have (specifically, if I was covered at their location. The employee simply told me they would bill me if I wasn't covered, so I had to call my insurance company myself to check for coverage.) and getting basic prescription information were very unpleasant experiences, as if the staff were very irritated with my questions and thought I was stupid for asking them. Overall, I would not go back to this location. I would not recommend this location. read more

I walked in here 1 hour before closing time to resolve an issue concerning to my glasses which I received earlier that day at another location, I was the only customer in the store and there was 4 associates sitting around chatting. They were anything but helpful, An older male sales associate argued with me, refused to pull up my file and wouldn't help me with my glasses because I had purchased them from another location, he lectured me and told me that everything cost money and asked for me to pay for adjustments if I needed them completed at that location rather than returning to the one I bought the glasses from. I argued back a bit at which point he started yelling at me and chased me out of the store, telling me that I had to return to the location where I purchased the glasses. Here's my experience... I went in to get an updated glasses and contacts lens prescription in March. I wanted to try some different looks of glasses on online where you are able to upload your photo. However, many glasses were only offered in styles that fit particular PDs (pupillary distance number). I looked on my prescription and sure enough, this section was left blank. Websites give you a printable tool to gather this number or advise you to get at eyeglasses places. Stopped in, assuming this is not a problem to grab. Let's be clear.... Not only was my insurance billed for this previous visit, but of course they had additional fees on top that were out-of-pocket... So I paid plenty to get a simple number. Here is how my interaction went.... Requested the number. The woman asked when I bought glasses from them. My response.... Haven't had glasses in years. To which she looks up my info and says, "You've only had a contact lenses prescription here." Hmmm.... My insurance would say otherwise and then that leads to more questions about the physical prescription I have that is dated for March 2019. She says they charge twenty dollars for this. Then proceeds to whisper to her "supervisor" that I haven't bought glasses but want the PD number. I thought I was at an eyeglasses place, not a car dealership. Not in the mood for the games. So she does this ten second measurement.... As if this was some amazing favor. Nope. Just not great service. So if they think adding this little charge will keep your eyeglass purchases in-house, it only had the opposite impact... Now I won't get any eye exam, no longer purchase contacts, or even go in there again. Thanks for the "free" PD. read more

My student's frames broke and her vision issues are significant, so not having glasses is a serious challenge. Becky at Pearle Vision helped me navigate insurance issues, frame issues, and provided me with new frames that day. I was so impressed with her willingness to work with me and help this girl get her glasses for tomorrow! Kudos to Becky and I cannot express my gratitude in words. read more

Brian has the worst customer service I've ever encountered. Maybe he was having a bad day, but there is no reason to be rude to paying customers. I will never be back. The doctor was friendly but I can't stand it when I go into a place of business and the employees act like I'm inconveniencing them. I came in for a contact fitting yesterday. I informed the man over the phone, I need to schedule a contact fitting, informed I would be paying out-of-pocket and asked how much the appt costs. He informed me approx. $50. I said, "great, I'd like to schedule an appt." I went into the exam room with the Dr. and I began to explain I had an eye exam two weeks ago and I am looking for a contact fitting. He asked if I had my prescription with me, which I did not. He did not say anything and asked me to sit in a chair for yet another glaucoma test. He proceeded with various test, diagnosed me and informed me what my contact fitting prescription is, etc. When I get into the lobby (pleasant women, talking about needing a month long vacation - I get it), she informs me it's $120 for the exam and fitting. I explained, "oh, no, I just scheduled for a fitting, I had an exam two weekends ago, which I explained to the Dr." She stated, "oh you need an exam with every fitting." I explained they didn't tell me that initially. She asked for my payment, which I grudgingly provided. Not a good experience whatsoever. I keep thinking about the additional $65 I spent (considering I do not have eye insurance and I was able to get my previous exam covered under my health insurance) and how I feel personally swindled. If they are making that a requirement, they need to tell patients upfront. It's their obligation. I will never ever recommend Pearle Vision. I will not go to them in the future for any eye wear needs. I have only been to one other eye wear clinic on this new vision health journey and they were phenomenal compared to this experience, so I know this cannot be the industry standard as a whole. read more

This store is hands down one of the best shopping experiences I've ever had. I've gone there over the last three months for various eye care related needs and every trip has set a new high bar for customer service. The staff is extremely knowledgable and professional while maintaining a laid back atmosphere that made me feel taken care of while at no point pressured into buying anything I didn't want. Their sense of style also needs to be mentioned, I feel like everyone has a great sense of what frames look good on people but they always listen and figure out what my personal style is and what works within those parameters. Twice now I've gone in convinced I knew what frames I wanted only to discover those frames did not fit my face. Each time a different member of staff listened to my needs and found the best frames for my face. Couldn't be happier. This is a great store with a great dedicated staff. I'd say go out of your way to shop here, it's worth it. read more

My wife and I had a very bad experience trying to get the lenses done properly (over the course of 2 months). The store kept giving bi-focal lenses (3 times) that had tunnel vision even for the distance viewing. This made it hazardous for driving. But, they said that my eyes would adjust. (yea right). We just gave up & asked for straight lenses and asked for the difference back, but they said they'd just "work with us on that" and would only give a partial refund of the difference. Getting the clear clue that they weren't acting in good-faith, we asked for our prescription & all of our money back and went to a different place altogether. We gave them many chances to work out the problems but they ended up just being rude about it in the end. This is the worst experience I have ever had with any eye wear store. Too bad. read more

I went to this Pearl Vision center because it's covered by my insurance & near my home. Note to anyone on Medical Assistance - your business is really not wanted here. -When I asked for my daughter's pupillary distance, I was told that they are not allowed to give out that information. Seeing as it's part of the prescription, the doctor had no trouble giving me the pd number. - This office charges an additional $ 10.50 for pupil dialaion - which is a normal & included part of any stardard comprehensive eye exam. - I had to call to find out the glasses were in. Turns out they had tried calling me once when they arrived 3 days before I called. They were "unable to reach me"& didn't leave a voicemail. -Fitting the glasses took about 45 seconds. The lady there put the glasses on my daughter and told her to "look down & shake her head". Since the glasses did not fall off, the optician considered this a proper fit, and wished us a good day. - I had no paperwork for my daughter's glasses. I was told that it was billed to my insurance and since "it didn't cost me anything" I wouldn't get any paperwork. I was offered a print out showing that my insurance paid the balance (you know, like a receipt!). - When I asked for eyeglass cleaner & a cleaning cloth I was told that you only get those "when you pay for your glasses". I am happy that my daughter was able to find a pair of glasses that she liked in the selection of frames covered by our insurance. Knowing what I know now, I would not go back to this Pearl Vision Center. While the doctor was knowledgeable and professional, his front end staff clearly needs a refresher course in customer service - even the customer's receiving medical assistance. read more

Maybe Brian was having a bad day. I came in for my contacts check up and was greeted by a older gray haired gentleman. He was busy on his desk cleaning glasses that was on display. I have called earlier and have spoken to a nice woman named Julie. When I told him I was coming in for a contact lens fitting. He blurted out , wow..you have not been here in a while. Since you did not come sooner we will charge you a $60.00 fee for inconvenience. I started to laugh..seriously I did. My prescription was not invalid so because I did not come in quicker there is a fee? when I did not bulge he went in and spoke to the doctor. He came out and ignored me and the doctor called me in, of course he was nice. He explained that there was a 90 day window to check your eyes. So I paid it. When I was about to order contact lenses...I stated I wanted to try color again. " well you can't do that because of your astigmatism" I wanted to laugh!!! Obviously he did not read my file, Toric colorblends is what I can wear. When I said that to him, he stumbled his words...oh well okay..I mean I did not know about that" his attitude just turned me off from ordering. I decided to order my contacts with someone else. I would come again because Julie and Dr. Meyer was nice. But Brian needed a hug..or chocolate..he was just too mean for me! I was nice and not argumentative, I am a Christian woman...
