Within a few days of my appointment I got something in my eye when walking outside in the wind. I finally called several days later when it became even more irritated and they worked me in the same day. Dr. McMahon found a grain of sand had stuck itself to my eye and said next time to not hesitate calling to come in for a check. I was a patient at this practice for a few years and typically just scheduled annual appointments. That process went mostly smooth but if you have any question whatsoever it requires multiple steps of escalation and the staff are clearly annoyed and not properly trained. On one occasion I had an eye related emergency and the staff offered no emergency appointment or guidance for alternative treatment centers. That lack of assistance/guidance resulted in a $100 emergency room visit. The first question the ER asked me was why didn't your Optometrists schedule you for a sick visit? The last straw for me was when the front desk staff recently tried to cancel an existing annual appointment due to a VSP benefit being exhausted for the calendar year. The staff at no point asked if I had a secondary vision benefit (which I did) or if I still would like to keep the existing appointment with the understanding that the appointment fee would be an out of pocket expense. When I expressed to the staff that the customer service at this office is significantly lacking and that I would not be a returning patient the receptionist audibly sighed and said, " Yeah...ok" So for the above mentioned reasons I would no longer recommend this practice to others in my community.

Her attention to detail and level of concern were above and beyond what I expected, and I left feeling relieved, confident, and honestly just so grateful to have found her. No more readers, dry eye at least 75% improved and improve will continue. I have gone to him for several years and have only the best to say about him. My eyes have had some concerns, not every day problems. Each time I call or visit the office, I always leave feeling argumentative and defensive after conversing with the office. I called prior to an appointment explaining I was 10 minutes behind schedule as a meeting with a client ran late. I was rudely informed that "young people have no respect for anyone" and that I was rude to waste her time and keep her waiting. I was prepared to reschedule my appointment if needed, and was attempting to politely explain an unavoidable issue and was offended she would say I was wasting HER time. It was the Dr's schedule I had inconvenienced! When my dog chewed the arm of my new frames, I visited the office to see about sending them out for repair. I was rudely told that I should keep my dog away from my glasses and that they couldn't be repaired, I would have to purchase new ones. End of discussion. I looked up the manufacturer online, sent them out, and they repaired them at no charge aside from shipping and handling. Lastly, I ordered a new pair of frames online and called to verify my prescription. I was told that I didn't need to get it over the phone, and it would be sent to me because I would need a paper prescription anyway before I could order. False. I confirmed I did not need the prescript, could just enter online - and she laughed as she read it off to me. She said it was a waste of her time as it wasn't going to process. Weird. Wearing the new frames as we speak. While I love the doctor, I find his office support to be exhausting. There is no need for the misery around simple office procedure. Get it together, ladies.
