I love these people and all they do for me! I've been a customer about 10 years. Initially, I went because they accepted my (Massachusetts) insurance, but little did I know how excellent they would be. Their staff is extraordinarily stable, which is important to me, because every time I buy 2 pairs of glasses, the staff (thanks to Ashley, Sherry, and Liz) gathers around me to let me know which frames look best on me. (I always buy a pair of no-line bifocals which darken with sunlight and a pair of sunglasses at the same time.)
I told Liz, who helped me, that because of my tight money -- I just had both cataracts removed, an expensive proposition, even with great insurance -- that I wanted to try buying the sunglasses on line. They're supposedly a lot cheaper, right? And I wanted to check prices then and there, so if I wanted Visionworks 60% discount on the shades, I could get it that day. So Liz told me what to say and what to input for my lenses. I tried using their web site to picture the frames I was interested in on my front facing face, but they never really gave the proper size OR the proper color, i.e. all reds and all blues were just the same one color. So that's not really helpful. Zenni.com has some good looking frames, so I called their help line to get help with definitions of where to measure for lens width, bridge width and frame length. They can only offer suggestions on the help line because all buying must be through their web site. The lady I spoke with had a hard time understanding English, and after repeating myself for about half an hour, I decided that WHATEVER the Zenni price was, it wasn't worth the time and aggrevation it was taking me, especially since Visionworks was going to sell me prescription no-line bifocal sunglasses for under $200. The pain in the neck factor put Zenni out of the running.
Not only is the staff terrific, they adjust and shape my glasses to my asymetrical face and ears whenever the glasses need it, from the time they arrive to the time I give them to the Lions and get new glasses. You can't go wrong with these folks. read more
