Awful service in every regard. The people on the frontline in the store have zero interest in attending to customers let alone delighting them. Rude & passive aggressive in their answers ... just trying to get me off the phone by putting me on extended holds. I bought 4 pairs of glasses and was promised 2 weeks ... 4 weeks later I finally got everything. I spoke to a manager to voice my displeasure but nothing got better. I rushed from work to pick up before a 6pm closing and luckily arrived at 5:40 (plenty early) only to find them switching off the lights in the store to discourage customers from entering, no doubt so they could make an early escape. I have been a customer for 20 years ... I will not come back again ... who ever owns this business should pay more attention to their front line staff ... they are slowly putting you out of business by how they treat your customers! read more

I've been coming to this office for nearly six years and have never had an issue--until now. In the past, the doctors and reception staff have always been polite, welcoming, and professional. At my recent visit to renew my contact lens prescription, I saw a doctor I hadn't met before (a woman with red hair). Unfortunately, the interaction was extremely uncomfortable. She came across as very passive-aggressive and informed me that I had an infection in my right eye. I've always worn Acuvue Oasys lenses, and she explained that they are very lubricated and that, since I'm not always great about taking them out, she recommended switching to a different brand. However, once payment was taken, she handed me the same brand she had just told me she would not recommend. She continued to "un-recommend" them while simultaneously trying to sell them to me, which was incredibly awkward and confusing. Given that she had just said they weren't helping my eye infection, this interaction made me feel very uncomfortable and unsure of the guidance I was receiving. I ultimately left with the brand she initially recommended, based on her medical advice. When I returned to pick up my contacts, the front desk staff was again passive-aggressive. The overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming--staff members simply stared as I walked in, as if I wasn't supposed to be there. The office no longer feels warm or inviting and has lost the family-like hospitality it once had. My mother also recently visited and had a very similar experience. I had a very dissapointing experience with Dr. Roshni Naik as she was condescending and rude during my recent visit. Her tone throughout the appointment was unprofessional belittling, and disrespectful. Healthcare providers should foster trust and communication, but unfortunately, Dr. Naik failed to do either. I left the appointment feeling frustrated and upset--not because of the diagnosis, but because of how I was treated. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this office to anyone. read more

This is the second time I've left this optometrist frustrated, so I won't be back. It ends with what I may be an offer to commit insurance fraud so read on. Last year, I got an eye exam and was offered a service that would allow the Dr. to examine my retinas without the need for dilation. Sign. Me. Up. So I paid the extra fee. Once I saw the doctor, he informed me that he'd still like to dilate my eyes anyway to ensure the most accurate exam, but I had already paid the fee for the extra service and received that service, so I couldn't get a refund. When I couldn't find any glasses frames that I liked at a reasonable price, I decided to order some glasses online instead. To do that you have to have a measurement called PD, or pupilary distance. This is best measured using a special device at the optometrists office, but if you don't have that, you can try to measure it yourself. Pearle would not give me the PD, and informed me that it was not part of my prescription, and they didn't have to provide me with that information. I measured myself, got it wrong and had to order another pair of glasses from Walmart where they measured my PD accurately. Today, I had a confirmed appointment with the office. I had intended to find another doctor this year, but my plan year expires today and I've been busy with work, so I figured I'd go ahead and go and just suck it up, knowing I was not going to be particularly happy, but needed to get the exam. I arrived in time for my appointment to find that the optometrist had decided to take off 2 weeks ago. My appointment was confirmed 2 days ago, though. So now, my plan year is at an end and no once can squeeze me in at the end of the day on the 30th of the month. I've taken time off from work and have nothing to show for it. The receptionist did offer to charge me today and book me back another day so that it would fall on my plan, but that seems pretty shady (is it fraud? I don't know, but seems like it) and frankly they've been dissatisfying in the past so I'm not even going to give them the chance. I'll be finding another optometrist and hope you don't waste your time with these people. read more

I purchased my most recent pair of eyeglasses here. I already had a prescription. Isabella was great at giving me details on the price ranges of a variety of glasses. I ended up going to the deals section of the store which is where they have a wide selection of affordable eyeglasses. This location had a wider selection than Buckhead. My new glasses are well-made and affordable and I would definitely return to this Pearle Vision for my next pair. There is plenty of parking. The store is very spacious even when a lot of customers were there when I went to pick up my glasses, I never felt crowded or cramped. read more

Being diabetic I had my annually eye examination at Pearl vision Johnson Ferry Rd. Marietta, Ga. Upon arrival the reception was welcoming. I was not impressed with the nonchalant doctor. They used a computer to examine my eyes,which the computer was not working properly. I complained to the doctor that one of my eyes felt like trash was in it, and irritated for over a week with watering and redness. He did not seemed concerned not even giving an explanation as to what might be the cause of this. He did not dilated my eyes nor check the back of my eyes. My guess is he relied on the computer used to check my eyes that was not operating properly. I should have went to Walmart Vision center, at least the doctor there seems to care and I would've gotten a thorough eye exam. Still having a problem with my eye. read more

This office is so rude and snotty. I've been a customer with this business for over 6 years at the mall location this lady with short hair was nasty and saying I have to do the whole procedure to get any help at all. I couldn't do my annual exam unless I did EVERYTHING they were charging the full cost for extra features I didn't ask for. She complained about me setting up my appointment at 8 AM. She complained that the fact that I was early and she also complained at the fact that I didn't just go back to town center mall because I wasn't a customer at their location here I would like to request the store manager to give me a contact, because that is ridiculous someone like that should not work here. I'm sorry that I'm not the correct type of person for her. She does not like my social status or even my ethnicity. Making the decision to switch optometrist to Dr. Joe Gonvalves was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I walked in with both glasses and contacts I could NOT see out of. My previous optometrist did everything she could to convince me I needed cataract surgery and that I was going blind. She did not get either of my prescriptions correct but she was extremely skilled in getting me to purchase an extra pair of reading glasses I no longer require after my exam with Dr. Gonvalves. Dr. Joe Gonvalves was extremely thorough and informative. He assured me I was not going blind nor did I require cataract surgery. I left his office feeling excited and PERFECTLY capable of seeing both long distance and up close. I usually don't post reviews, but I hope this review can help prevent others going through the same experience. Since I first visited this store 3 months ago, it has been a struggle. It started with an incorrect prescription, so I had to redo the eye exam and it came back 30% lower! Then my progressive glasses were measured incorrectly, so vision was blurred on the one side. Three replacements later I'm still waiting for the issue to be solved. I didn't receive notice from the store about the order status for any of the times when my glasses were re-ordered. Everytime I had to call to find out the status and without exception was put on a "brief" hold of at least 10 minutes while they were searching. Twice the line was disconnected after over 10 mins and they even didn't bother returning my call. read more

This was the best eye exam experience I've ever had!!!! From the second I walked in, it was excellent service!!! I was greeted by the optometrist (Dr. Joe Goncalves) himself. I had the pre-screening within 10-15 min. Then met with Dr. Goncalves for about 10 minutes. Exam was completed. He even helped me to pick out my glasses!!! When does that ever happen???!!!! He gave me a great deal for glasses/ lenses, then I only had to wait 30 minutes to get my glasses that day!!! It was really amazing. I will definitely be back!!! This location was recently sold and the new service is "terrible" I would NOT recommend going there. They tried giving us different lensses. Basically tried to rob us because the ones we paid for where more expensive. And .... would have not told us!! We only found out because my husband noticed a difference in the lenses. I just picked up my glasses after an eye exam and wanted to express my thanks and appreciation to Dr. Gonvalves (optometrist) and Lloyd who checked the fitting and made sure I was happy with the purchase, Lloyd is the man to see when you pick up your glasses. (He is the one wearing the his trademark hat!) He is very professional and genuinely interested in you as a customer. There was a slight delay in shipment which was not the store's fault but this did not matter, Lloyd still accepted responsibility and upgraded the lens covering at no extra charge as an accommodation due to the delay. I have been a customer at this location for almost 10 years, This last experience has been so unpleasant I will not be returning for future eye appointments or eyewear, nor would I recommend them to others unless they change their practices and customer service. In June, I had an eye exam and ordered lenses at the same time. The provider has always been thorough and he is not the issue. I preferred to use my existing frames as I still enjoyed them and they are in good shape. After many weeks and lens orders not actually being placed, I finally received a complete pair of glasses until the beginning of September. I was offered a $100 refund for my troubles. Approximately 4 weeks later, I noticed small blurry areas in the lenses and tried to clean them with soft cloths and lens-specific cleaning solutions which made the issue worse. Two weeks later, I took the glasses back to the store to see if there was an issue with the lens. I was quickly dismissed without anyone actually looking at the lenses and told the issue was my error and the lenses were now rendered useless. I was told it was the blue screen film on the lens that was damaged and would need to be replaced. I have been wearing glasses for over 40 years and have never had an issue with lenses in the past so thought this was new. I would like to add, the last pair of glasses I ordered from this same location are perfectly intact after 4 years with barely a scratch from normal wear and tear. Lenses should not be rendered useless after 4 weeks when I have always paid for the extra protection with Crizal. I had to repay to reorder the lenses and this order was placed in mid-October. Once again, when calling back to check on the status of my order, I was told the order wasn't placed, I has to come back in to drop off my frames, then my original frames were lost, couldn't get an employee on the phone to assist unless being on hold for 10-30 minutes at a time. This time, I was offered a 50 dollar refund for my troubles. I feel the way the multiple issues I have had with this one pair of glasses are embarrassing to the company and more should have been done to resolve them. This was an Ok Pearle Vision to visit. But the next time I need to go to the eye doctor I'll go somewhere else. I ended up calling this Pearle Vision that was down the street from me in Marietta and made an appointment to get my eyes checked when my last pair of contacts were on their last leg. From calling, to the actual appointment, to purchasing contacts... I wasn't happy with dealing with the receptionists/assistants in this eye doctor office. They're weren't the friendliest or most helpful I've ever come across. Anyway, I ended up having my eyes checked by Dr. Goncalves... He was friendly and nice, but I felt that the exam was a bit rushed (it could've gone fast because they had my prescription information or maybe I haven't been to the eye doctor in so long they can get you in and out faster)... I don't know, but my prescription had hardly changed and I walked outta there with a trial pair of night and day contacts and clear vision. Well the next step was purchasing contacts... I usually get them through the eye doctors office because I don't want to go through the hassle of purchasing them online. So to save some money I was going to go back to my old brand Acuvue with the 6 that came in a box for the right eye and left eye for like 40$ each. The assistant on the phone I ended up talking to was like the eye doctor gave you a different brand of contacts to try I don't think you can switch back, he may have to reexamine you... Well the doctor told me if I wanted to go back to my old brand I could, my prescription had hardly changed anyway... So he double checked with the eye doctor and said exactly what I already knew (it should have been a note in my file saying I had an option to choose either contacts). My annoyance was growing... So like any other business on this planet, they're going to try to upsell you anything, and especially more contacts... 6 contacts in a box... half a year supply.... I Don't Think So... Contacts last much longer than they try to tell you. I've been wearing contacts for years YEARS... and a pair can last me 3-4 months depending... So don't try to sell me two boxes for each eye for almost 300$ and I can get a discount with a 35$ mail in rebate. Just sell me one box for each eye at regular price of 75$ for a total of 150$... My annoyance was growing further... But paying 150$ out of pocket wasn't the route I really wanted to go either, so that's why I was initially going to go back to my original brand... they were a bit cheaper for 6 in a box, but the assistant on the phone was like they don't offer the 6 in a box anymore just the 12 in a box for 70$... I guess 1800 Contacts has old stock of Acuvue with 6 in a box that Pearle Vision can't stock at all... So by then I was really annoyed and was tired of dealing with Pearle Vision so I said I'll take the night and day one box each for 75$, fewer contacts but better to sleep in... After I hung up with them... I was at their office basically 30 minutes later to pick up my contacts because the night and day were ones they had in stock... I was just so annoyed and was determined to get those contacts before work because I wasn't going to go to their office on my off day, and quite frankly I'm not going back to their office period. I don't like when businesses try to drain your pockets...but oh well they're out to make money like everyone else. So I'm pretty sure unless I get laser eye surgery... I'll have to deal with this contact tango a couple more times... but I'll definitely go to a different eye doctor and hopefully they'll have friendlier and a more helpful staff. But other than that it seemed I bitched most my review... so here's a recap... Unfriendly staff, nice doctor, fast exam, upsell of contacts, me annoyed... I had my eyes tested in november 2021 and i told the doctor that i would get the new lenses put in my frames in january as i was getting a new insurance plan. I went in on January 20 th 2022 and they told me it would take a few days as did the doctor in november. I have called weekly since that time and each time they tell me it will be a few more days and i still dont have my glasses. I paid for these new lenses on jan 20th it is now nearly 2 months later. Pearle Vision is definitely not a budget option for glasses, but they are killing the customer service game. I had an exam done elsewhere and got two pairs of glasses here, with expensive lenses with all the bells and whistles. I tried them for a week and they gave me awful headaches. Pearle Vision had their doctor redo my exam, then they remade the lenses in both pairs of glasses for free. The people who work there were incredibly friendly and responsive on every visit, as well. read more

I am not sure if I would believe all the posts on this review of Pearl Vision. I posted a 1 star rating a week ago and it has since been removed. I was told that they were very concerned that I was not happy with their customer service. I was also told that the regional manager would contact me within 48 hours. That never happened. It's amazing that the website for Family First Vision care- Marietta gets 4.8 out of 5 stars, their EMPLOYEES MUST BE writing the reviews! Ever since I ordered glasses from the Johnson Ferry location it's been a DISASTER ! No itemized receipt, unanswered calls, no return messages, excuse after excuse when you have to actually go back in person to speak with someone ....and I wasn't the only one! Every customer that entered the store while I was there was complaining of the same problems- multiple customers complaining simultaneously.... Doesn't that say something?!? Customer service is NON-EXISTENT. We were told this store was sold and now has a new owner ( we asked who it was and we're told they weren't allowed to give that information). Whoever it is, obviously doesn't really care about anything but making a buck. Do yourself a favor and AVOID this location and any other Pearle Vision stores in the Marietta/ Atlanta area. I know there are more reputable and responsive optical businesses that can provide an immensely higher level of customer service than this business could ever understand. read more

I could not be happier with the quick and excellent service I received. When I called in to double check my appointment time they told me that I could come in anytime after a certain time because they didn't have anybody else on the list. The doctor was down to earth, did not try to get me into anything I didn't need and made the process so simple. I am so glad I made the choice to come here. Meh! The examination was okay, seemed really short compared to last year's but, the regular optometrist was out and they had someone covering for him. The staff was cordial, but when it came to selecting my eye ware is when I felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman. There was some help in determining which frames were more flattering, but honestly my husband was more helpful. When it came to the pricing is when it seemed to get dicey. I have vision insurance but the salesperson was a fast talker, showing me different "packages" they offered and working to convince me that his deal was better than the insurance coverage. Let's just say I was very leary of the whole transaction, especially when I left with only a cc receipt and nothing itemized to show what I'd just purchased. I called 5 times over the next 2 weeks to request my itemized receipt, left 5 voicemails and got 0 responses, the excuse was that they are all really busy.....Too busy to return a customer's phone call? Finally I had to make a trip to their office and waited for the paperwork I'd requested. My glasses just came in 2 days ago, they seem okay and hopefully they are, but my husband and I will most likely me looking for another company to deal with next year. read more

I first saw Dr. Joe in April. He did the most complete refraction ever. Other places I visited didn't bother to be so precise. The outcome was superb. Even with my eye issues including 47 years of Type 1 diabetes, I have never had clearer vision. A special call out to Elaine who worked with me to make sure my glasses fitted perfectly and compensated for my one iris that is lower than the other. She and Dr. Joe are the first to agree with me that it is an issue when making progressive lenses. Update: My eyes just changed again and Dr. Joe and Elaine have come to the rescue! Me and the hubby scheduled an eye appointment with this location based on reviews from Places on our iPhone so we knew they were good, but they were excellent to us!! Helped us pick out cute frames, the eye exam was accurate, the contact exam was great and the customer service was great!! The ppl are nice and helpful so you never leave with a problem. Just ask!! Actually, I left out of the store, went to Pier One and noticed my glasses had an air bubble in the frame. I went back into the store and showed it to them and I'm getting a new pair of glasses based on that air bubble!! They are wonderful!! read more

I went to Pearle Vision looking for glasses for my daughter because it took our insurance. They told me that the frames my daughter picked out were over $200. We were able to find the exact same frames online for $85. (It isn't a high-end brand -- their clothes are sold at Walmart.) The mark up is so ridiculous -- I can almost guarantee you can find the same frames online for a fraction of the price. read more

I had a 515pm appointment, but when I showed up at 515pm the doc was no where in sight. I asked where the doc is, she told me he went to Target, and would be right back. She attempted to start the exam, probably to make sure I didn't leave. Why is it people in the medical (or pseudo medial) profession think they can just make people wait on a whim? I left, and told her to call me when he got back. No one ever called, no apology, nothing. I'll never go back to that sorry place. read more

The optometrists here are good but the customer service in the eyeglass department is horrible! The glasses are overly priced and often times glasses are sold scuffed and damaged with the facility not taking any responsibility to fix the issue. Some employees would even act like the issue is your fault for noticing that they're selling poor products. Please save your time and money and go elsewhere. read more

We're highly disappointed with the customer service at this location. We purchased glasses for our daughter 4 months ago when she was 9 months old. The glasses we purchased were sold to us as, what we understood to be, scratch-proof and anti-glare. They replaced 1 pair after we found some scratches on the lenses a couple months in. We went in today to again have scratched lenses replaced, but were informed this time that lenses aren't scratch-proof and are merely scratch-resistant. Furthermore, the lenses looked bad because the anti-glare coating was peeling off. The people today told us that kids glasses will just get scratched and they don't actually recommend anti-glare for kids. So, we feel like we've been sold a bill of goods. We were informed they will only replace the lenses once, and since they've already been replaced, they won't do it again. So now our daughter has her less scratched lenses from before put back. We would not have spent extra money on these features if we had known they wouldn't back up their claims. Furthermore, the general attitude towards us as people trying to scam them out of a pair of glasses is unappreciated. We thanked them for the little help they provided us and didn't receive the slightest acknowledgement we even existed. Next time, we will spend our money somewhere not only willing to back up their product but also more interested in treating customers as valued assets and not con artists. read more
