I have an issue going on with my eyes and went in to Pearl Vision of Fleming. My appointment was made online with Dr. Blaylock. On the day of my visit, I saw Dr. Newsom, who was great. She prescribed an eye drop that was a steroid/antibiotic mix. After my robot vacuum ran over the drop bottle, I needed a refill/teplacement. After calling the office, they said I would have to call the pharmacy to get a replacement. When calling the pharmacy they said I didn't have a refill, that they would request one (which should be no problem to get approved, and that I would have to call the office back. Turns out that Dr. Newsom just fills in for Dr. Blaylock certain days he is out. It is currently Tuesday and they told me I would have to wait until Saturday for Dr. Newsom to be back. Dr. Blaylock refused to approve the replacement without me coming back in to see him and having to pay for the second visit. Keep in mind, these are just eye drops. My question and frustration is two-fold. 1. My appointment was made originally with Dr. Blaylock. I had nothing to do with and was unaware he would be out of the office and I would be seeing someone else for the original visit. 2. Why would he have someone taking over his patients on a day that he is out that he does not trust their professional judgement enough to honor a prescription that she wrote? Again, just eye drops....nothing special and NOT a narcotic or anything of that nature. I am literally waking up every day with my eyes glued shut and miserable, and they said I would just have to wait until Saturday. Today, Pearl Vision lost me as a patient as well as the rest of my family. read more

When I made the appointment, I informed them I could not wear a mask and have my Dr Note. I was told it was fine just being my note. The manager FLIPPED OUT and was completely unreasonable. DO NOT GO THERE! Manager is HORRIBLE and openly discriminates against disabilities. Made ZERO effort to work with us. They are rude to their customers who are unable to comply with masks medically, and refuses to even try and reschedule the appointment for my child to a time when my husband could take her. They ordered me to stand all the way across the room, where I could not hear them due to hearing loss (coupled by being unable to read their lips due to their masks) and threw me out due to my disability. read more

Everyone at Pearle Vision Fleming Island is amazing. The staff is so welcoming and very helpful. Dr. Blalock is very knowledgeable and the staff is great at breaking down the cost of contacts/glasses. I recently moved to Orlando, but I come to this Pearle Vision whenever I'm in town. After having an eye exam and getting my partial prescription they will not provide my PD so I can get my safety glasses ordered through my job. They will not provide the rest of the prescription unless I get glasses in there store and they do not have safety glasses available. They are scamming con artists and generally suck for operating there store in this manner. Go somewhere else where you can get what you pay for. read more

Find someplace else to spend your hard earned money. The scheduling staff is very rude and blame everything on the computer. Last time I was here they gave me my old script instead of my new one. Never again. There are more places that actually care about their customers. read more

Yes everyone is very nice, BUT be careful , the cost is very expensive, there not let you know before the see the doctor.

I can't say enough good about this doctor and his staff. He and his staff have amazed me on two separate occasions with their exceptional customer service. The first being with my mother when we were trying to get her drivers license. We were at the Drivers License Bureau and she needed a doctors note and glasses. Someone suggested his office so we went directly there and were able to be seen right away and get what we needed, and back to the Drivers License place. It was amazing as we were able to get her License that very day. Had it not been for Dr Blalock and his staff working us in so quickly we would have had to go back the next week. The second was for my husband. We had changed insurance and his eye meds were no longer on the plan with out pre-approval. It was 230 on a Fri. I left the drugstore went to the doctors office hoping to get a sample to hold us over as I thought it would take a week at least to get an approval. Well, let me tell you, Melody, had it all worked out within an hour and a half and even called me at home to let me know that she had called the drugstore to verify that they had his prescription ready. and the insurance had us as approved. Can you believe that kind of customer service. Amazing. He is an excellent eye doctor to top it off. So he has three new eye patients for as long as we live in the area which I suspect will be for a very long long time.
