This was the first time I had been to Pearle Vision and it was a good experience. Top and foremost was the optometrist, Dr. Eric Ludwig. I hate the vision tests. There are always times I am not sure which is better, "A or B", "B or C", and ask to see the previous one again...and then again. Since I have seen numerous optometrists through the years, I judge them according to patience. Who rushes me, who will patiently go back and forth and give me time to mull it over, etc. Dr. Ludwig made me feel like he had all the time in the world. He was pleasant, down to earth and the vision test was painless. Afterwards, he spent time discussing my vision, my astigmatism and the options for deciding which lenses to get. After tentatively deciding to try progressive lenses he said if I could not get used to them they would switch them to distance lenses with no added charge. I don't know the name of the employee who assisted me with picking out frames but I liked her also. She was nice and also patient. This would have been a game changer for me because, with frames being as expensive as they are, I would expect her to be! She reiterated that if I was not happy with the progressive lenses, they would not charge to switch them. My only negative was the receptionist. I felt she was a bit stand offish and not as welcoming as I would expect a receptionist to be since that is the first encounter when you walk in. read more

I recently moved to the area and have had bad experiences at other eye places. I was told to go to pearle vision by a friend and I am very glad I did. The employees and doctors at this location are extremely passionate and knowledgeable. They WANT to help you and genuinely love what they do. I am the first one to complain when someone doesn't perform outstanding customer service but also I will always give credit to those people who go above and beyond for a customer. It is not so common these days. Not to mention it is a great location, good parking, and clean facility. Also, I have an extreme irrational fear of touching my eye. So no doctor could ever get me to do the dilation or the puff of air without me putting up a fight. The doctor here worked with me and had alternative ways of getting to the same result and made me feel comfortable and not stupid. I went to Pearle Vision in Commack N.Y (Jericho Typ and Townline Rd) without an appointment for possible repair of my eye glasses. I was greeted by one of their representatives Angie. I showed Angie that I had broken one of the knuckles which attaches the arm to the glass frame. I thought she was going to tell me that I needed to purchase a new frame. Angie looked at the problem, disappeared for a couple of minutes and returned with the glasses repaired. The arm wasn't the same thickness; but that didn't matter since the glasses were once again fully functional. I asked the cost and was very surprised when Angie mentioned that there was no cost for the repair. This is my second favorable experience at this location. Angie was very professional, knowledgeable and attentive to my eye glass needs. I completely recommend this facility for any eye glasses or repairs. read more

My 7 year old went for a routine doc visit and I was shocked to learn she needed glasses,BAD!! I felt terrible that she was struggling to see.. A friend recommended PV. I called the next day and they gave me an appointment for same day accommodating my scheduled after school. The staff was so helpful, kind and professional. Not only did they perform all necessary exams they were able to get her glasses a few hours later! They spent the time to fit her and explain when to wear them and how to take care of them. They were encouraging and had her so excited to see clearly, it really was heart touching. I would highly recommend PV in Commack. I chose Pearle Vision since it participates in the VSP insurance plan and close to my office. Although initially skeptical based upon my experience at another chain, to say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement! Dawn was incredibly helpful. She knew about frame quality, differences in lenses, etc., but never guided me to the most expensive items or tried to sell me frivolous extras. This place is great, I can't believe all the negativity. I walked in here totally cold never had glasses before. These people bent over backward to help me. The glasses came back quickly and the distance was great! I could see again! The reading part was a little foggy. So they made a second set of lenses for me, and installed them within 5 days. They also made me a third set of reading glasses free of charge, now I can see the smallest things and read the fine print again. I will never get contacts and glasses anywhere else! I recently had an exam here and the doctor was so helpful and friendly! He used state of the art machinery. He even took pictures of the back of my eye so I wouldn't have to be dilated! After the extensive exam, I had a lovely sales associate show me frames. I am in love with my new glasses! I recently had the opportunity of seeing Dr. Devore. I explained to him that I really miss wearing contacts... I explained to him that I had a difficult time the last time I tried using contact. I have an astigmatism and wear bifocals.. After he examined my eyes. He took the time to explain that they come out with new contacts that would work with the astigmatisms and bifocals. I have used this family-run Pearle Vision since I first needed glasses 20 years ago. I have always had a good experience and left with the perfect new pair of glasses. I have never had a problem with the staff. I have always found them professional and feel they truly offer a quality product. I've purchased less expensive glasses from competitors at times but found they don't last as long, break easier and fall out of style quickly.
