Dr. Ficarra and the rest of the staff there have been nothing but accommodating and friendly - whether it is just my annual eye exam, getting contacts fitted, picking out new glasses frames, or most recently being seen for an eye injury - I have always been able to make appointments easily and for the same week I call and upon arriving I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes past my appointment time which is obviously really appreciated. Clarkson Eyecare is my 7th ever eyecare company / optometrist (others being on the East Coast before moving here) and I can say that my experience here has definitely been one of the best I've ever had. The selection of glasses frames to choose from is not the largest I've seen at any of my eyecare locations, but they have just enough where you can find something you like no matter what. For contacts, upon moving here I was using BioTrue, which at the time Thoma & Sutton was not carrying, however they didn't make switch just because they were not carrying those lenses, they actually went out and started a relationship with BioTrue and now carry those lenses for everyone to get! This is just one example of them going above and beyond to please a customer. Another time I have experienced this great customer service is with my aforementioned eye injury during which I was able to schedule an appointment and be seen in the same day, receive all the testing I needed, have a follow up appointment a week later, get referred to see another eye specialist at Cincinnati Eye Institute AND thanks to the persistence of Dr. Ficarra get in to see that specialist the next day - this type of care and service is definitely hard to come by. Pricing wise - which as always is important to me - Clarkson Eye is average priced versus other eye care locations. Glasses are a couple hundred dollars depending on the brand you get, and same goes for contacts. I do have to say they always give you the rebate to use for your contacts order which is greatly appreciated and helps you save $100-$200! Otherwise, most eye visits are covered under insurance or there is a small exam fee / co-pay. Overall, have been more than pleased with Clarkson Eyecare and recommend them to anyone in the Greater Cincinnati area who is looking for quality care, service and decent pricing!

I got a text with my appointment date and time, read it, and showed up as scheduled. When I arrived, I was told my appointment had been canceled because I didn't confirm it. Apparently, when I originally scheduled the appointment a year ago, it was only considered "pending." They also claimed they called and left a voicemail, but I never received one. This was extremely frustrating and a waste of time. Make sure you confirm your appointment directly, or you may show up only to be turned away.

She was very thoughtful educating me on eye symptoms. However, I may not return. The front staff were not very friendly. They were just complaining about work the whole time like kids on the job, full grown women. If you are going to complain about work, at least be an adult about it and do it on your personal time at home. Maybe a lot has changed the past year. Regardless, I hope I am wrong and just caught them on a bad day. Hopefully this helps, I would suggest giving them a chance since you can't beat the prices. Im not sure why most people use Google reviews with bots and not Yelp. I guess some are still not with the times. Leave a review after you do, and build an honest, more transparent community.

I had an appointment, but I think you can walk in also. The doctor was personable and helpful. I had questions about some newer disposable lenses and he fully answered them. He wrote my prescription so that I could continue using the lens I currently wear or try the newer version.
