Boy, its sad to see the poor reviews of this place. I have been coming here for years and have always been happy with the service. One of the main reasons I keep coming back is the staff running the front of the store. They always adjust my glasses well and provide great advice when picking out a set of frames. You spend a bit more than you would at chains like WalMart and Costco, but the service is something I have found great value in. I have tried doing the online glasses thing and other places and keep coming back because i know these guys will take care of me. My favorite thing is being able to pop in any time during store hours to get my glasses fixed. As a father of small children I often have my glasses needing to be adjusted after my kids get a hold of them. Having the staff of this store available when its convenient to me is a huge deal. read more

We had two different doctors, both were very quick with our exam, they both were rude,a and it was obvious that they didn't want to be bothered. One doctor only did the exam, asked me no questions, and never asked if I had any questions. We spend over a thousand dollars by the time we paid our co-pay's and bought 2 sets of glasses. My son's glasses fell apart within 3 months of having them (he is 15, years of experience wearing glasses, and has had has never had any issues!) My glasses cost several hundred dollars and in less than a year there is a film on them that is coming off. All they staff can say is that we didn't buy the warranty, and that my son's glasses needed a whole new frame and that would cost another $260. For the money we pay, the frame shouldn't break so easily, the glasses should last at least a year of normal wear!! My wife's glasses came in and were the wrong prescription, had to order new, and make another apt and wait again! I felt I got better customer service, and better quality of glasses at Walmart! I wish I would have read the reviews on this place before I made an appointment and spent my insurance benefits as well as so much money. I will be going somewhere else, never Pearle Vision again!! read more

I had sat on my glasses and bent them way out of shape. I brought them into the store, was greeted promptly, and they were able to restore the frame to its original shape. Note, I did need to sign a waiver saying I understood that the frames may break. However, the technician took great care and was able to refit my glasses without any breakage. I'm a happy camper now. read more

Hello all, Just wandering through this evening and decided to write a review regarding this Pearle vision ctr that I have visited now on several occasions. I got a pair of glasses there 2 years ago and it took a few weeks to get them because they said that "progressive bifocals" take longer to come in. Also, when I received my glasses, the lenses weren't properly placed and the corners of the glass were sticking out and not seated correctly. I had to take them back in and then come to find out that a piece of nylon cord was also sticking out and poking my head so they had to take them back again and it took approximately 3 or 4 weeks total, for me to finally get my glasses and to keep them. I really have enjoyed the glasses but they haven't even lasted 2 years yet and there is a big "chip" in the lens that I did NOT have anything to do with putting there! The best part of my visit and visits, has been the service employee named "MIKE". He has been helpful, kind, courteous and always helpful. I brought my 22 month old glasses to him about a month ago and he went back to ask the Optician if they might remake my lens because of the chip and the possibility that it may be a "factory fault " problem. He came back and was very sorry but told me that the Optician couldn't prove that it wasn't my fault, so there was "nothing they could do"....even though the glasses were over 400.00 ! Well, it wasn't his fault anyways. He's waited on me or helped me on several occasions and I cannot say enough good about the way he's treated my daughter and me. Well, the other day I went into this specific Pearle Vision in Canton, MI and there were two older women working but "MIKE" was not there. I had my new prescription with me and was ready to either get new lenses for my comfortable glasses with the chip in the lens which now needs to be a different script anyways....OR possibly a new pair of frames and lenses? I wasn't quite sure which way I wanted to go when I walked in the door. It wasn't too busy but just a few people in there looking around. The little bit older woman with a little bit longer hair waited on me or started to and then right in the middle of our conversation, right while I was sitting with her in front of a mirror with the glasses I hopefully and possibly wanted; and right in the middle of our conversation, she told me that a boy "over there needed contacts and she'd be right back"! So she kept helping me for another moment and the other woman who was working with her, the woman with the shorter hair, came over to us and to the woman that was helping me; and she said "I can take this boy with the contacts for you? Do you want me to do it?" The woman who was helping me told her "No, I will be right over". The woman stopped helping me right int he middle of our conversation and "sale"and she went to help someone else with contact lenses. She proceeded to talk to him and then call an insurance company and I was aghast !!! I was horrified that I was still sitting there at least 10 minutes later while she could've cared a less ! She was helping someone else and even though the other woman had OFFERED to do it for her so she could continue on with me, she left me and went on to someone else. Needless to say, I got up and gathered my things and I asked the other woman who hadn't been helping me and who wasn't on the phone, I said "When will Mike be working again?" She told me he'd be back on Saturday the 7th (this was Thursday the 5th of January) of January! I told her I was leaving and that I'd be back when Mike was there! I will go back on Saturday (tomorrow) and I will tell Mike about what happened. I will see how he responds to what happened to me and how I was treated by that older woman on Thursday. She also told me that I "looked better" in a pair of glasses that I already had said that "I didn't like"!!! I have also been told by my Optometrist Dr. for years, that my frame MUST BE a 48 or 49 and NO BIGGER because my face is very small and I am petite. Anything else looks much too large on my small framed face. Well, this woman that was helping me and stopped in the middle of our conversation to help someone else, she told me that these pair of size "50's" "looked better on my face"!! NO NO NO...even my husband who has no fashion sense whatsoever without my help or my daughters help, said that the "50's were much to large and sticking out on me" too far!! I even argued with her and told her what my Dr. has said for years about me being a total 48 or at the most size 49 glasses frame! She was rude and crass and just not a very pleasant employee to have to deal with the public! She was actually pretty miserable seeming and showed that attitude towards others. I will see how I get treated on Saturday when I go and see "MIKE"...otherwise if not for him, I wouldn't be back to this center! read more

I was there a few months ago, sunglasses were wrong, she insisted they were right, have not been able to wear my sunglasses, wasted $500.00. Eyeglasses weren't much better but have to live with them until insurance kicks in again. My husband went there today, he ended up with the same person, very rude. My family will no longer be going there and any chance I get to deter people from them I will. Very frustrated....... read more

Not sure what about this place causes the staff to have such attitude. It doesn't have any better selection or prices than anywhere else. Went in to look at frames, was there half an hour and no one offered to help me, though many employees were just standing around. Several complained loudly that the internet was down so they couldn't process any orders. Some frames are in a locked case (really?), so I asked someone at the main desk if I could try on one pair in the very special case. She was extremely annoyed, said she was with a patient and that someone (she gestured vaguely around the store) would help me when they were done with everyone else (yep, she really said that). She then told her patient the internet was down so he'd have to wait. As she did not offer to help me I walked to the door, she then said "do you want me to show you those frames?" Yeah, I did, but at that point I'd had enough. Someone else, or the internet, can do me the great honor of offering to sell me $325 frames, plus god knows what for the lenses. read more

Absolutely horrible service. The only reason I went here in the first place is because they had a Groupon for $225 towards a complete pair of glasses. Only after they had done my exam and everything I find out that the Groupon can't be used with any other offers, discounts or insurance. Well I picked the cheapest pair of frames I could and still ended up paying $100 for them out of my pocket. Also, they refuse to price match for contacts. Ok, I've been to a few different Pearle Visions in the last few years and I've never been treated so rude. I made my appointment online. Super easy! Once I arrived, there were two ladies working the front. One lady greeted me and once I told her I had a 1:40pm appointment, she cut me off with " I'll be with you in a moment!" Ok..., I'll shake that off... When they sat me in the exam room, the doctor came in and seemed frazzled and agitated that he didn't have a file on me yet. I told him that I was new in town and that this was my first visit. Ok..., I'll let that one slide too... Now, I knew I wouldn't be buying glasses from them (I usually wear contacts), and I wanted to buy my glasses online. To do that, I wanted them to measure my Pupillary Distance. The exam went fine and somewhat thorough. When the doctor mentioned that I wanted to know my Pupillary Distance, he sharply asked "Why? Why do you need to know?" I explained that I was going to purchase glasses online to which he responded "Don't buy them online! These are medical instruments! Buy your contacts online, but not your glasses." I sat quietly and finished the exam. Having felt the air of bad customer service since I walked in, I was probably not going to win him over to get my PD. I was then sitting with one of the ladies to discuss purchasing eye contacts. While she typed on her computer putting together to costs with my insurance, I pulled up the same on an eye contact website to compare prices. She was over $140 more expensive! I told her no thank you and that I'd like my scripts. She became exasperated that she spent the 10 minutes typing a quote in the system and walked off to the printer in a huff. Really lady? You couldn't convince me to buy from you and pout? I understand times are changing and web stores are exposing the high costs of eye glasses/contacts, but don't try to hold my prescription hostage (i.e. My Pupillary Distance) to get me to pay a higher price at your store. This Pearle Vision is the worst I'll ever been to. To overcome a higher price, I would expect some stellar customer service and attention. Three times during my time there I was told to abruptly wait while they did something else. Come Pearle Vision Corporate, listen to your customers!! Only after this experience did I read the reviews! Wow, didn't even make it to my appointment and I'm done with this place. Booked eye exams for myself and my two children online. Called the store afterwards to verify that they have a selection of children's eyewear. Was told that they don't allow three family members to have appointments on the same day. ONLINE BOOKING TOOL SPECIFICALLY ALLOWS UP TO THREE APPOINTMENTS! I protested, because finding time in our schedule is very difficult. Pam who answered the phone said again that they would not allow it. FINE, Pearle Vision just lost three customers before they even got them. read more

Update: OK I just came back from Costco and could not believe it. At Pearle Vision I paid approx. $950 for 2 pair. Buy one get one for free now right. Both were regular glasses. Pearle Vision refunded everything except the exam. So I asked for my prescription. Took script to Costco bought a pair of DESIGNER glasses bi-foc, coatings and all for $219. And a pair of prescription sunglasses for $90. I can still go back and buy another pair of regular glasses and I'VE SAVED A FEW $100. But I was misinformed about not needing a membership.... Sorry. I already had one and they asked for my card. But helk with the money your saving $60 (I think) for a membership it's totally worth it. read more

They are getting one star because that is minimum by Google. I ordered my frame and lenses on May 13. My vision insurance requires that to be taken care of at special lab for lenses and it is Pearle Vision's job to send frame. Lenses were ready on 25th but they forgot to send the frame completely. I just confirmed with my insurance that they got frame on 30th. This is horrible customer service. I would never recommend anyone anymore to this place. This was my first and last mistake. read more

I Have been using PEARLE vision since long time. Since last year, I was going only for eye exam, as I get more discounted price frame at other place.. When I went for eye exam 2 month back I was surprised. Dr told me to go same place where I order my frame.. If you don't give business for frame and lenses, don't expect good service here. Since my new prescription glasses, I have headache and vision problem every single day, so I went back and asked for recheck again but they refused to recheck and blamed the lenses where I ordered.... To start off let me just worn others, please do yourself a favor and never ever think of going there. I had scheduled my appointment for 6 o'clock and I was told to be there 10 mins earlier, which is understandable since I'm a new patient. I get there close to 5:50 and I was told my appointment was at 5:40. I told the receptionist that it was at 6 and I just sat down since I had my confirmation email with me. She continued telling me that my appointment was at 5:40 and if I continue waiting I might not be seen til all the patient(s) that had their appointment(s) after me had been seen. I, again, told her my appointment is at 6 so I'm actually early not late. Few minutes later she comes back and tells me, she'll take me in since the 6 o'clock had cancelled. I proceeded to tell her that the 6 o'clock appointment was me, I never cancelled. Keep in mind, while waiting the phone did not ring at all for her to say that someone had called and cancelled while I was there. Anyways, I go in to do the exam and the doctor comes in, let me just say extremely unprofessional. For some reason he expected me not to speak English and screaming every word as if that would help. I responded to him in the same manner til he eventually understood that I did speak English. As for the lady that assisted me with contacts and glasses, she was convinced that I will listen to her and go off of what she tells me. I appreciated her "help" but all I wanted was my script for the glasses and my contacts for fitting that I was charged for but was never provided any to get fitted in to. I had to pay for the sample contacts that were supposed to be given to me as part of the "fitting" fee. I did not realize that those contacts that I had paid for were samples and not for sale until they called me to pick them up two weeks later. After being a customer with PV for the last 8 years where I have purchased glasses for me and my daughter I realize what a complete scam PV is. I have purchased prescription glasses for me and my daughter for the last 8 years, at least 3 pairs each. I signed up for coverage so that our glasses were covered, little did I know there are strings attached... My daughter was in an accident in which she lost her glasses, PV does not cover loss, only damage, so the $125 glasses would cost $350 to replace with the 40% discount, I could buy the exact frames for $50 from Amazon, but when I called PV. I was told it would cost $400 to add the lenses!!! After 8 years PV Lost 2 customers, I will NEVER visit PV again, buy your frames from Amazon, get the script and shop for a store that will install the lenses for a realistic price. DO NOT BE CONNED BY THESE STORES THE PROMICE SERVICE AND RIPPPPPPPP YOU OFF. read more

I had an eye exam at Pearle Vision Canton, but decided to get glasses elsewhere since their selection was limited and prices were extremely high, I got the script filled somewhere else and was able to get two pair of glasses for $150 less than quoted at Pearle Vision and I liked the actual frame much better. I cannot see out of the glasses. Pearle Vision verified the glasses were the right script, but refused to re evaluate my eyes. The doctor refused to even let me talk to him and there was only one couple looking at glasses in the store, so they were not busy. Anyone can make a mistake, but a true professional would want to either fix it, or verify for their own peace of mind, they were not wrong. I was shocked at the whole disgusting experience at this store. I would recommend anyone considering going there, look at other options so they can actually get a script they can use. The only reason I used them in the first place was they were one of the few in the area that took my insurance. In this case I would far rather pay for an exam and not use insurance and get a prescription I can actually use. These are so off, I have to squint to try to see at all. My older scripts are all much better even though they are not current since my eyes have changed. Maybe this doctor needs to get his own eyes examined so he can be more accurate with his exams. Maybe he did his own exam and therefore he cannot see either. The clerk was very rude both times I was there as well, very condescending even on my initial visit and much worse when I asked for assistance with the wrong script given to me by Dr. Hagen. They seem to have a bad reputation because I went to a few locations with the script to look at glasses (before I knew the script was wrong) and each person I talked to had a negative comment about Pearle Vision Canton either about their steep prices or their level of service. read more

I ordered new glasses with my doctor's prescription from this Canton Pearle Vision. I had called earlier and talked to an exceptionally pleasant and informative woman "Tanya" who I specifically asked for when I went to order glasses. This woman was just as professional, friendly and accommodating as any customer would want. The other review also reveals another customer friendly salesperson "Mike" as well as a salesperson who wasn't "customer friendly". Like all places of business, there might be (and usually is) an employee who doesn't understand their job. This place did everything I asked of them including changing the order the next day without any trouble. I learned from "Tanya" that many of the sales staff (including her) have been there for "years" which is unusual for this kind of business. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because I had my own prescription and did not use all services this business provided. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this optical business. read more
