Basically bait and switch. Stay away; there are far better places for exams and eyewear. Sorta rude and snarky as well.

Customer service is terrible! In their pre appointment questionnaire they recommend two test, at an additional cost, which i just had at the VA. I declined them, when I got to my appointment the receptionist took me back for the "pre-appointment" test and sure enough they were part of it. When I tried to explain that I declined them because I just had them completed at the VA and I only wanted my eyes checked for new glasses she said that had to have them. When I said that I was not going to pay the extra cost for them she very rudely told me that I couldn't see the doctor and that I had to leave the store. I tried to explain the the form I filled out allows you to decline the test but that didn't seem to matter to her. Worst customer service I have ever seen. I will never go to a Pearl Vision again. I was recommended by a friend two years ago whom has gone to Pearle Vision last three years. Since I was new in the area I took his recommendation. Even with Covid restrictions I was understanding that staff could be short staffed possibly. Last couple of visits I've been there I've had no issues. Infact the staff were welcoming and pleasant. I've read a few of the reviews and was a bit leary to make an appointment. After finding out there was a new owner and staff that relieved my mind at ease. I've had insurance the first year. Billing no problem. This year I have no insurance and still affordable. I've bought contacts for the year and Coach Glasses and Coach Sunglasses. I'm a girl with class and style. If I could give zero stars I would. The doctor who saw my husband and I seemed to just want to get us in and out as quickly as possible. When it came to getting our actual glasses we were quoted 2 weeks until they were ready. My husbands came in quickly, but when we went to pick them up on a Saturday at 4:15 - they were closed, despite the website and Google stating they were open until 5pm (I have since updated since no one at the store appears to know how to do this). Their hours were not posted anywhere in the store windows at that time. My glasses were still not in after 2 weeks and I called to check on them. Seems the lens were sent to the wrong place. Where were they sent? I had to call 2 more times over the next 3 days to find out no one seemed to know where they were sent. They assured me they would re-order and put a "rush" on them. I called back another week later - they had shipped. 5 days later, I called again and they were finally in - A MONTH AFTER PROMISED. They had "just opened the box and there they were". Sorry, but I just don't buy it. If I hadn't called for an update, I think it would have been another 3 days before I got them. There was nothing "rush" about it. What kills me is that I had to call them each time for an update. At this point, knowing how upset I was with them, anything with my name on it should have been flagged to contact me immediately. They refunded me $50 for the trouble - off $350 glasses. They should have been half price. Customer service is just terrible from start to finish. No one takes any kind of responsibility for anything and their follow up is appalling. Go anywhere else. read more

I have been harassed by the camp hill location of Pearle Vision. My son and I had been patients until they texted me at 7 AM on a Sunday morning. I decided to just never go there again, then it happened again a few months later. I had contacted them about it and they gave a weak excuse about a third part contractor sending it. I told them to never contact me again. This Sunday morning at about 7 am it happened again. I tried to email them and the email was blocked. So if you want averaged service and to be harassed and woken up about your past due for an appointment outside of business hours, they may be perfect for you. Had an appt yesterday with Dr Miller and while she was very nice, the rest of the employees attitudes were deplorable I went and checked in,tried to pay ($80 for an exam is just RIDICULOUS!) and the guy just gets up, leaves and doesn't return. Having read some of the older reviews that were less than stellar, I was perplexed given my recent interaction at this Pearle Vision Center. Today, I learned that the store came under new management - along with new staff - several months ago, so it explains why my experiences have all been stellar. Over the last several months I - 1) had the lenses replaced in two pair of frames I already owned, 2) stopped in several times to have four different pair of sunglasses, two Maui Jim and two Ray-Ban, adjusted, and 3) purchased two new pair of Ray-Ban eyeglass frames with lenses - and every interaction has been well beyond my expectations. Aimee, the new manager, and Brittany Lynn have been attentive, courteous, friendly, helpful and professional. I could not be happier and highly recommend the store under its new management & staff. read more

Pearl Vision at it again. I was here back in February. Had an issue with the bill as they tried to bill me over $300 when it was covered under my eye insurance. A regular check was only suppose to cost me $10 a piece for me and my wife. I won't go into it again, you can my other review. Anyway I got that straightened out with insurance who talk to Pearl Vision and Pearl Vision refunded me the extra charges. Apologized to me and said I was all paid up and had a $0 balance. Cool. Well it's October and wouldn't you know it, I just got a bill from Pearl Vision for $162.... From my February appointment.... Theses guys billed me months after the fact and after telling me my insurance had covered the exams and my co pay had been paid. This is illegal right? read more

I came here as a NEW patient as well as being new to the area.. immediately upon entering I was not only greeted with an attitude, but the environment here was so negative. Everyone in the office seemed to have an attitude as well as a dislike for their job. Once I walked in and finally found the receptionist (who btw was hidden in the back of the store ) he was rude and frank. Told me to just sit down and and he'd go over things with me soon. As I waited for him to come back, I was taken back into the exam room by the doctor, I was a bit confused considering I didn't exactly check in or give my information. She was nice, but seemed to be in a rush. After a few mins she seems a bit more comfortable and started to be personable. Once the exam was completed, I was again sent out on to the showroom floor. I was told to move about 3 times even after they seated me in a specific spot. Finally I got to be checked out and purchased my contacts. It wasn't a great experience.. read more

Nice selection of frames...That's all... Pearle rips you off on the price of the lenses. I have excellent eye insurance and in addition to my eye insurance they wanted to charge me $900+ for Crizal lenses with advanced progressive!!! I went to Mechanicsburg Eye Associates and for the same lenses paid $238 with my eye insurance. Don't go to Pearle Vision unless you have money to burn!! read more

Overall good experience - staff was very helpful and patient in helping me pick frames to fit my face and style. Although, mistakes were made on my original order - glasses sent to wrong lab and wrong plan was charged, Tim the store Manager worked with me to correct the problem and helped me with a 2nd pair of computer glasses. Very professional and handled the situation well. I'm satisfied with the outcome and happy with my new glasses. I will continue to come back for the service and nice selection of frames. read more

Do not waste your time coming here!! I don't care if they take your insurance or not. When I first showed up there was no one in the showroom number one, number two I finally went back to the "receptionist area", which you can't tell that's what it is, again there was no one at the receptionist desk. I waited 5 minutes before another patient's husband came up and asked her if she'd been seen, she said no. Then this rude employee came out and said "I'll be right with you" with a snotty attitude. I finally asked the lady how long she had been waiting and she said 30 minutes and she hadn't been seen. That was it for me. This was a busy Saturday and they have incompetents running the place. I have just had an eye exam at Pearle Vision Capital City Mall, Camp Hill Pa 17011. I ordered glasses and, after my insurance payment, I had to pay more than $ 600 for progressives, $ 159 frame, etc, but nothing too special about them. Three hours after ordering the glasses, I rethought it and I called the shop and I said that I wanted to cancel the order. The employee told me that it was too late. I said that three hours for glasses that were going to be delivered to me in two weeks was not too late. She refused to cancel my order and to return my money. I asked her name and she refused to give me her last name due to privacy. I kindly accepted such reason so I asked for her employee number. She said that she doesn't have one (her name is Amy, in case you wonder). I asked to talk to a supervisor and she said that she is the supervisor for Pennsylvania. She never gave me the eye exam documents, even when she has to submit to me by law. They are not picking up the phone while my insurance is calling them. Don't go there. My work site has changed, and so I had to find a Pearle on the "other shore." I was blown away by the quality of service and the friendliness and helpfulness at the Cap City Mall location. The doctor was great, and so were Aimee and Sarah. The two of them helped me find my first new pair of glasses in six years, and they were so much more knowledgeable in styles and what "fit my face" than I. Since I was shopping alone, and I can't see far enough to make out glasses when I'm trying them on, it was great to feel I could trust these two professionals who were so invested in making sure I got everything I needed. I expect that my next appointment will be far more punctual than my last, and that has a lot to do with the quality of service I received at this location. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. I bought a pair of reading glasses at the Capital City Mall store back in June 2014. This am when I went to take them out of the case, the one template fell off. First I thought it was the screw since I did nothing to damage them, then I looked closer and it was broken at the hinge. Since I've only had the glasses 8 months, I took them immediately back to the store to get the template replaced since online it says that Lucky brand frames (which they are) are guaranteed for a year. Pearle Vision will not stand behind Lucky's guarantee! They told me I either need to buy another frame or contact Lucky directly for replacement. I paid close to $300 to Pearle and the frames didn't last even a year. They told me I should have bought their protection plan which would have been additional when I originally got the glasses. Buyer beware - stay away from Pearle! read more
