Hiring Pearl for our kitchen and laundry remodel was a decision we won't regret. After vetting three companies we decided to hire Pearl based on Alon our project manager's knowledge of our home's uniques needs as well as our own vision and he blended them together perfectly. Our electrical panel and plumbing needed full upgrading to code. All work was done by crews that were prompt, on time, professional, clean. The crews are indeed the best in the industry. Tile, drywall, electrical, plumbing. All winners! We enjoyed the freedom we had to choose our finishes and appliances while Alon provided the expertise to manage the crews and maintain the construction timeline and permitting process. We will enjoy the final product for years to come with our family and friends! read more

While we didn't use Pearl for our project, Ben was very knowledgable and gave us sound advice that turned out to be very helpful.

My fiance and I just finished our first remodel with our first home, which felt very stressful and overwhelming right from the outset, especially in the midst of planning a wedding and being busy lawyers. Gal was the first contractor we met with, and he was very personable, thorough and a good salesman. We compared every other contractor we met with to him and they did not measure up. When we met with him he was able to approximate the cost of our small project (refinish deck, painting inside, new lighting, new floors, new kitchen, new windows, new bathrooms) and his final bid came in very close to his initial guess. Even better, his quote was far and away more competitive than others we received, some of which were higher and could not do all of the work we wanted done. Gal's team worked with speed, and helped us select and acquire some of the materials we needed for our project (like baseboards and exhaust fans). That was such a relief to us because the multitude of decisions made to select the different components that go into the house was exhausting. If there was any confusion about whether a decision was ours or theirs, all it took was a text or two to Gal expressing our frustration and he took care of it. There are some details that we believe might have been sacrificed for the purpose of speed, but speed was more important to us, especially in the final weeks as we had to move out of our apartment and were in temporary quarters. Gal was responsive to our concerns as fast as he could be (given that our renovations were happening over the holidays). We appreciated that. Again, Pearl will get in and take care of you fast. And Gal has offered to help us with a few things we are uncertain about in the coming weeks, something we also appreciate as we are still deciding if we like certain things, and it is a relief that our contractor is still offering to help us if we need it. read more

I am so glad I choose Pearl Remodeling for my bathroom remodel. You heard people's nightmare with contractors. I was pretty nervous about the remodeling. After three estimates I decided to go with Pearl Remodel. 4.5 stars of 73 people (back in March), that means something, right? Izhak is the project manager, he is very helpful, super nice and professional. I am kind of a picky person, he is very patient with me, he would come to my house or call me every other day or two to check and making sure I was happy with every step on the way. Ram and his team worked six days a week, came on time, clean up everyday when they left and made sure to keep the rest of the house as clean as possible. Now, I have a beautiful new bathroom to enjoy. I am very happy with it! I absolutely recommend Pearl Remodel. Remember to ask for Izhak, you will not be disappointed. read more

It took me an entire year to decide to renovate my 1963 house. I had the names and contact numbers of three construction companies but in the end, I decided to contact the fourth company I found on Yelp, Pearl Remodeling. Izhak Eskayo is the Project Manager they assigned to me. He came to my house on a Sunday afternoon on time (but I wasn't home) and he patiently waited until I arrived. We met few more times, sometimes because of my work, Izhak had to meet me after 7pm or on Sunday. Of course, I expressed all the big ambitious dreams I want for my house. Izhak listened attentively. Then he patiently explained to me without being condescending what would make more sense on how I should proceed and the estimate costs of the renovation. This flexibility and being on time all the time on his part means a lot to me. I realized Izhak is the right individual I could trust to help me. He demonstrated humility, patience, and flexibility, never pushy, has excellent understanding of my dilemma, treated me with utmost respect, very honest and transparent, gifted with the knowledge and expertise of his trade, and above all, he listened attentively. So I decided to sign the contract with Pearl Remodeling. I love that everyone in the company from Carol, the receptionist who took my initial phone call to Jacob and Ron, the owners of the company, I found them all to to be very committed in making sure my dreams, desires, and needs are satisfactorily achieved. From the outset of the most horrible COVID-19 pandemic this world has faced and is still experiencing, I can unequivocally say, Izhak the Project Manager, Avi Malka the Foreman, all the many workers who came to my house, and ultimately Pearl Remodeling as a company, have met all my expectations - above and beyond during the 3 1/2 months of home remodeling. They all have been so good to me and my family which made the entire home renovation a successful, positive experience. May our Creator Hashem bless you all! Very grateful customer, Nena read more

We've had an ugly kitchen for the 15 years we have lived in our house. It was always a "one day we will change it" kind of thing. A slow leak under the sink made it a priority as everything needed to be replaced. I hired my parents' contractor, who does beautiful work. He came the first day, said he could get started in a month, and the price was right. What could go wrong? Literally a year later, he was still putting us off. Eventually I gave up and started searching. We interviewed three companies. It came down to two. I wanted to go with the other company, and my husband wanted to go with Pearl. What cinched it for me was Ben. He asked me questions I hadn't thought about it. He suggested ways to get more space. He said he would go shopping with me to pick what was needed. He answered all my questions and never once made me feel like I was bothering him. He also said that he could make our short deadline. Sold. Ben was on it. Work was started shortly thereafter, with Ben coming by or calling most mornings, full of energy and happiness. Even my puppy fell in love with Ben, who continued to answer any and all questions, quickly, all through the process, morning and night. Workers showed up on time, were very friendly and respectful and were real craftsmen. They listened to my questions and when I needed to make decisions were very patient with me. Through the whole process I was advised what was going to happen and when - and it did! There were no major surprises and no major costs that were unexpected. We got what we asked for, how we asked for it, when we asked for it and at a price we agreed to. Ben also found quite a few things that would make our lives better, asked if we wanted them, and then didn't charge us for the cost of doing them (such as asking if we wanted an outlet outside so that we could close a window we had run an extension cord through, putting door stoppers on to preserve our cabinets, etc.). He saw stuff in a way I just would never see it - and I am so glad he did. At some point during the process, work stress got the best of me and Ben went above and beyond taking care of things so that I did not have to. It wasn't necessary for him to do so, and it was greatly appreciated. I cannot imagine anyone else going out of their way for me the way he did. He was always patient and kind. I am SO happy that we found Pearl, and particularly Ben. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone and will use him again and again for all the other "some day" projects around the house that we have. Thank you Pearl, and THANK YOU, Ben. read more

We used Pearl Remodeling to redo two bathrooms, and to add insulation to our ceiling. We had Ben Oded as our contractor, and are very happy with his work and communication throughout the project. While the construction was taking place, we resided out of state. Even though we were far away, Ben kept us in the loop and dealt with any issues that came up, including: difficult neighbors, plant care, items broken in shipping, and packages that I shipped home too early. Ben was very communicative and let us know every time there was an issue, or when he needed our opinion on a design choice. However, even where there were issues he already had them handled. When we came back, we found no flaws with the work they had done, and even now, 2 months later, we still have no complaints. I would highly recommend Pearl Remodeling, and Ben O. for any project. read more

We worked with Pearl to completely redo our master bathroom from the ground up. While renovation is always stressful, Ben and his team were fantastic to work with from beginning to end. During the initial estimate, Ben was very clear about the process, what to expect, and when to expect it. Throughout construction, Ramon and his crew were courteous, worked quickly, and did a fantastic job all around! And Ben was on site every day checking on the work and easy to get hold of when we had questions. We highly recommend Pearl Remodeling and hope to work with them again on future projects! read more

The contractor came to assess and gave me a quote of $160K for just labor on a 2004 condo in Playa Vista. I was looking to redo the kitchen, bathrooms, paint and flooring. Seemed aggressively high. I asked for a breakdown of the costs per project and never received any correspondence or update after the fact. I guess they have too many clients and are too busy to take a job. Not worth the time. Also, the guy who came by seemed generally disinterested in working together or being there, which didn't entice us to want to follow up about hiring them. The guy was meant to be our project manager if we hired them. read more

This review is long overdue. We had our last communication with Pearl right before covid hit. I had been overwhelmed by caring for my 2 elderly parents while working full time, and the house issue had to take a backseat, plus Pearl had become nearly unresponsive. The owner uses gaslighting as a technique to get you to go away and stop asking for things to be done right. Maybe they are good for a quick flip, so long as you don't look at anything closely and walk away immediately afterwards. If you pay even the smallest bit of attention, there is so much wrong. So many issues: they tried to get away with one coat of paint and insist it was 2, the counter tops are the cheapest possible quality and didn't even fit within the space they had measured themselves, chips easily and is white just beneath the surface. Cabinets are of the lowest quality, with hinges breaking regularly, and they get scratches SO easily. The molding above the cabinets didn't stay up and sagged and their solution was to just keep filling with caulk and paint again. Guess what, they kept sagging! The electrical rewiring had issues that needed to be addressed multiple times after they were "done", they hooked up our new bathroom vent to...nothing, they grounded the house to the wrong side of the gas line, they left huge holes in the drywall after the electrical upgrade. The tub, floor, tile and caulk were not installed properly. We had to complain many times just to get the smallest portion of the issues "fixed". He admitted that their workers are not actually licensed at their trade, but since he is licensed as a general contractor (who only saw my house once), somehow it was ok? I have no idea how these guys have high ratings.... they are good for a snow job of a sales pitch and then it goes downhill from there. Their sales pitch guy promised things, then we signed the contract, and then they later said they wouldn't do certain things because it wasn't in the contract, even though the previous day he listened to all our needs (that we had also written down) and agreed 100% they would do all we had asked. Their workers did not even properly cover the HVAC system vents prior to beginning work, nor did they have a port-a-potty on the job site. They left huge messes in the yard: cigarette butts, saw blades, debris and their personal trash and had to be asked to clean it all up. I had to laugh out loud when Izhak asked me when they were finally "done" if I could fill out a recommendation. We are patient people and expected a job commensurate with the cost of the job and one that aligned with the kind of reviews they had somehow managed to get on yelp (I have no idea how they have such a high rating). They did not align at all. We literally got so tired of asking them to fix things and wanted to get back into our house...I think their tactic was to wear us out. It worked to an extent.... the bathroom situation never was satisfactorily addressed, and they ignored our last attempt to have the caulk issue addressed. Then, covid hit. Now the grout is cracked all over and coming out in chunks, the caulk still hasn't stayed in place, and some tiles are moving beneath our feet. Their last response pre-covid was that they didn't do anything wrong with the bathroom remodel and if we asked them to fix it, they would charge us for the cost because they would most assuredly find that they had done nothing wrong. Gaslighting! I would not recommend this company for your remodeling needs. read more

What was going to be a DIY, turned into contacting contractors. Pearl was contacted and Ben came out to view our bathroom and wanted to know exactly what we wanted. We worked with Ori and Rebekah to renovate our garage into an ADU (accessory dwelling unit). The project got off to a rough start when the demo truck backed into our house on day 1 -- and there were a few more bumps along the way -- but in the end they delivered a beautiful end product (even better than we hoped!) on time and on budget. Importantly, Ori was very communicative, flexible and easy to work with. It was clear that he wanted to deliver a best-in-class product, he never cut corners and he was always forthright with us. It always felt like he was on our side, and he often presented several options for us and gave us his honest take on the pros and cons of each. Ultimately, I think it is important to manage your own expectations when you have a large construction project underway. But if you can find a contractor that treats you fairly, is easy to get along with, and delivers an excellent product at the same terms you agreed to -- then what else can you ask for? Thank you Ori, Jacob and team for a job well done. read more

I recently hired Pearl for a remodeling project I've been wanting to do for years now. After a brief talk over the phone, they sent a designer to come to my house and I could tell they were experts. A Kitchen remodel - you generally hear people talk about these in hushed whispers as they share disaster stories of blown budgets, extended timelines and general unpleasantness. We'd already experienced one contractor - a family referral - who seemed to be allergic to actually doing any work, so eventually we turned to Yelp. We went for firms with the most and best reviews and set up consults. Ben Oded turned up on time, big smile on his face and charisma the size of our Kitchen. Compared to the previous consults he asked way more questions, pointing out where additional costs would be in our 1950's home with its ancient electrical and plumbing. Even though his estimate was 15% higher than the next closest quote we went with Pearl based on our intuition around Ben. The process was damn near perfect: communication was outstanding, all teams turned up on time, were courteous, cleaned up after themselves and seemed genuinely happy to be working. Ben was a constant presence, on site and off, fielding texts and phone calls. When decisions had to be made he delivered just enough information without tipping the scales one way or another (very smart move!) On the rare occasion where a ball was dropped he was proactive in solving the problem - at no time did we lose confidence in him or the project. 6 weeks later we have an amazing new kitchen delivered inside timescale and on budget. We also have a new go to contractor who will be getting our bathroom business as soon as budget allows. read more

I had the most amazing experience working with Gal and the Pearl Remodeling team! They will be my go-to contractor for any future remodeling projects and I'll be referring them to any friends or family looking for these services. I asked them for a quote and they sent Gal to my house a couple days later. I told Gal what I was looking for and told him that we could go in one of two directions: (1.) big deck with two tiers, or (2.) a smaller deck with an upper landing and stairs to the ground level. Most contractors would have sold me on the big deck in order to make as much on the job as possible. Instead, Gal was very honest and told me that he thought a smaller deck would fit the space better. From that initial conversation, I knew that I could trust him, and I decided to go with his quote. A few days later, we met with him and another guy from his team to ensure we were all on the same page. Then, on the day that they kick off the job, Gal was there to make sure everything ran smoothly. He came each day to make sure the team was progressing towards the promised deadline. In the end, the team finished the job on time and according to the budget we agreed on. I couldn't be happier with the quality of their work or the overall experience. My husband and I bought a new house and wanted to remodel one of the bathrooms. Because we had two months left in our apartment lease after we closed escrow, our hope was to have the work done prior to our move-in date. Pearl Remodel understood our vision and our timeline, and expedited the project so that on our moving day, the dust from the remodel was cleared up, and all that was left was a few finishing touches. Gal was very supportive and responsive, and walked us through every step of the way. As a new homeowner, I didn't realize that there are so many choices involved in redoing a room! But he gave us feedback on fixtures, recommended a great tile store, and helped us choose a vanity on Amazon. I have heard from others that it is difficult to find a reliable and responsive contractor, so I feel very lucky. Nicole S. I have hired Pearl Remodeling twice in the last two and a half years. These projects included a louver (open/close) patio cover, house painting, electrical work and retrofitting. Pearl Remodeling uses reputable, expert and reliable contractors to do to the work. All projects were completed on time. Best of all was the Project Manager, Ben Oded. He thoroughly explained the scope of each project, answered all questions with knowledge and patience. Ben was easily available and responsive to any concerns that I had. We are deeply grateful and appreciative for the work that everyone at Pearl did to help us navigate and work with Los Angeles County to complete our project, especially considering how long it took to get through our initial stages of approval. We purchased a property with an existing illegal garage conversion and, for over 5 years, various folks from Pearl worked along with us to get our project through and help us legalize the structure and clear code violations from our title. We are ever grateful that everyone at Pearl stuck with us and saw our project through to the end. We are especially thankful for all the work of Campbell, Jacob, Richard and Bar in the initial stages of the project and we are deeply appreciative of Jorge, who guided the project through its final stages and approvals. Jorge was always willing to answer any questions in a timely manner, give us guidance where needed, meet us at the Building and Safety office to help us obtain permits when the department was being difficult, and overall went above and beyond to make sure everything was completed and finalized, as well as ensuring our satisfaction was met. Complete with new windows, siding and paint, our 100 year old bungalow and fully permitted ADU are stunningly beautiful and we receive compliments nonstop from our neighbors! My wife and I had been waiting years to renovate our kitchen and guest bathroom. Once the pandemic hit, we struggled with deciding whether to wait another year or more, or bite the bullet, and once we were vaccinated, go for it. We decided to go for it. We did exhaustive research on home remodelers and narrowed our search down to three top-rated companies. We met with a contractor from each company. Alon from Pearl Remodeling beat everyone else out. From the first time Alon visited with us, he was punctual, courteous, friendly and honest. He never rushed us; he answered every question we had; and he also gave his own opinions, which we greatly appreciated. When he sent us the estimate, it was competitive with the others received. The difference from the others was the connection we had with Alon. He promised that he would exceed our expectations and that we'd be thrilled with the result. Seven months later, surviving a renovation during a pandemic, Alon was 100% right. He delivered on the promise he made the first day we met with him. Our renovation would have been done in two months. Pearl Remodeling moved quickly, efficiently, and expertly. It was the delays in materials (principally, quartz for our kitchen countertops; the vanity for the guest bathroom; and most awful- the wait for our kitchen appliances. We ordered them in April right after we signed the contract with Pearl; the dishwasher and range were delivered the first week of November.) Despite the delays, Pearl Remodeling was reassuring every step of the way. Again, special shout-out to Alon. He has the patience of a saint; every week when I told him there was yet another delay with the appliances, he was empathetic and understanding. This was my wife's and my first home renovation. We are both perfectionists and when something is done nearly perfectly, we will only see the miniscule blemish. Put it this way: We had Alon's phone number on speed dial. Every day during the renovation, I'd call with one issue or concern and Alon's answer always was, "Absolutely. No problem. I will come over and we will take care of this." And he did. Sometimes there was an issue, and Pearl fixed it immediately. Standard part of the renovation process, I now have learned. Sometimes, it was more of a phantom issue, stress-induced on our end. We wouldn't like how the new toilet looked; then, a day later, we'd realized it was fine. We just needed to become accustomed to the change. Like I said, we were first timers. My point is that Alon was kind and he listened to each and every call and he made sure we knew any problem would be solved. I want to give a shoutout to some of the rest of the crew, because this is the other amazing thing about Pearl: You have a whole team dedicated to your property. They all know each other, and they've worked together for years, so they have a rapport and a friendliness that is brought into your home. Ofer handled the demolition of both the bathroom and the kitchen and he was fantastic. Same attitude as Alon. He was always reassuring and anything we asked for he did. He stopped by the property multiple times throughout the renovation and he made you know that there was a dedicated team behind the renovation. Jordan is another guy on the team. Same attitude as Alon and Ofer. Jordan oversaw parts of the installations; he also did some of the work himself, like installing some of the appliances. Jordan also did the finishing touch ups. He has an eye for the fine details and he's just a nice guy with a positive attitude. George is a supervisor at Pearl, he also was great. He stopped by numerous times and coordinated final issues to be resolved. I highly recommend Pearl Remodeling. In 2022 we are renovating our owners bedroom and bathroom. I have Alon's phone number on speed dial, he'll be the first person I call. read more

I have so many great things to say about Pearl Remodeling..where to start. First and foremost, we were looking for a contractor who would be upfront, honest, and organized. Ben Oded and the team at Pearl Remodeling have been that and more. When we started the project, which was to add a brand new bathroom, and to redo the adjacent bedroom, we were nervous. We had just spent almost an entire year doing work with different contractors and had been unhappy with the time it took, and the lack of organization. Ben put us at ease right away, and worked with us to build a timeline that was reasonable and realistic. His team were all professional and knowledgeable, and the work looks incredible. If that wasn't enough, I wanted to touch on something else Ben did to go over and beyond for us. On the week of my wife and my wedding (after we had to cancel 2x due to Covid), Ben and the team at Pearl Remodeling cleaned everything so that, while we were still under construction, guests coming from out of town could stay with us, without the interference of the work. But that's not all.. on the Wednesday before our wedding, with all of our friends and family in town, the gas went out in our house. This had nothing to do with the construction work from Pearl Remodeling - but it didn't matter. They sprang into action, came over the very next morning, and worked until they were sure that the gas had been fixed. Major crisis averted.. and it's all due to the care and attention of Ben and his team. And, their prices have always been competitive, and for the plumbing job specifically, came in several thousand below the next best quote. Ben Oded and his team are so great that we continue to work with them. We had them replace our roof, and now, they are working with us on another project. All of this is to say that I HIGHLY recommend Ben Oded, and the entire Pearl Remodeling team. Thank you for the incredible work you've done, and the incredible work to follow! read more

We have to add another 5 star review for the team at Pearl Remodeling. Our project manager, point person, lifesaver (whatever you want to call him!) was Ben. Such a great and honest guy. Super responsive and always called to let me know where things were and to ensure that we were happy with every aspect of the project. We remodeled our garage and they could not have been more professional or respectful throughout. The attention to detail was amazing. They stayed mostly true to their original estimate - there were a few change orders/increased costs but these were entirely due to additions and changes we opted to make as the remodel progressed. We have two school aged kids and Ben and the entire team were so sweet with them and were mindful of our schedules when coming/going to our house. They were not the cheapest quote we received but definitely not anywhere near the most expensive. But, we trusted their work and recommendations at every step of the way, and that was worth the (slight) extra cost. Also, there were really no hidden costs - none of that nightmare 3x cost/3x time you hear about with other contractors happened with Ben. They finished right when they said they would, even with all the rain that we had in January. We can't wait to work with them again. In fact, I've already outlined some additional projects for Ben! read more

They did a really great job putting in a attic above my garage.

Ben and crew were great!! We had them install a patio cover and it was our "test run" project with them. We have a lot of projects that need doing around this house - it was built in the early 1960's - but we didn't want to move forward on the bigger stuff without knowing what we were getting. These guys were on time, efficient, and their workmanship is very high quality. Communication was not a problem, everyone was polite, and there was no last minute funny business. We are so happy with our new patio cover and fully intend to call them when we're ready to do more work on the house. read more

The person who came for the estimate sounded knowledgeable and professional. At the end when I asked for a quote to present to the insurance, he responded he can issue a quote only after I approve the job with this company. Really? You want to get my approval for the job before issuing a quote? Which by the way I need to present to the insurance for approval. I really didn't like this behavior. Additionally, when I was questioning this weird procedure, I felt something wasn't right with the story I was told. I will not work with this company, nor I recommend it, based on my experience.
