This was the 2nd time Integrity was out to our home and I'm glad they were gracious enough to return. We had an issue that was caused by the builder itself not having the home ready in time for the original inspection date which was pretty disappointing and caused about a 5 day delay. I heard that some builders are like this and so this was the case for us. What I enjoyed about Kerry was that he was very transparent and thorough in his inspection process and did his work while we did out walkthrough around the house. After our walkthrough with the home demonstrator was completed, Kerry shared a little information on his findings which would later be provided in his final report the next day. I like how Integrity Home Inspections provide you with photos showing areas of concern and provide that same information is provided back to the builder as well. Their format and photos were easy to follow and read through. Kerry checked the entire interior, attic, the foundation well as the exterior around the perimeter of our home. It was a pleasure having Kerry out there during our walkthrough and I'm glad he was able to check things that most buyers such as ourselves are pretty much oblivious to. A radon test was also performed and radon test box was left at our home for a few days. Luckily the test results are within standards and posed no health risks. Suddenly, without much warning, we had no water one morning. Nothing. Nada. Zip. 'A'ole. I'd…read morenoticed that the pressure was down the night before and was afraid that by morning we'd have nothing at all. I was right, and was pretty sure it was our well pump going bad. This is not good news for people who depend on well water like we do. Before 8 a.m. I called Steve's Pump Service; we'd had them out here years and years ago. We knew our well pump was bad; it was original with the house, which was built in 1966 and I knew it could go any time. Actually, I figured we were overdue. Steve told me he'd have someone out by 11 a.m., and he was true to his word. Jason, his son, arrived promptly and went right to work. He discovered a couple of different problems with it, but got the pump running again. The problem was that we had no idea how long the pump would last since it was so old. It could be years, it could be a day. In the end, we decided to replace it. Another huge expense we weren't planning on! It took several hours, but ultimately we got the new pump put in. It was a fascinating process to watch. These guys really earn their money, let me tell you! Jason was on the ground, then hopping up onto the truck, then down again, wrapping pipe to pull it all up, wrapping pipe to put it all down again. I was really glad it was a cool day, and not raining. Talk about hard, dirty, exhausting work!. This is no sitting behind a desk job. Jason has been helping his Dad since he was a boy, and knew what he was doing. Through it all, he and his partner were friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. He did some wiring that needed to be done, and I was glad he was here too. All three guys worked really well together. By the end of the afternoon we had our new pump in. So we were due for a new one, since this one was original to the house. I can't say enough good things about Steve's Pump Service. They made sure we didn't have to stay without water, installed the new pump quickly and efficiently (even though we weren't on their schedule for the day), and cleaned up after themselves. Bob informed me that they didn't actually do abatement. But rather than just tell me to have a nice day and hang up, he went on to explain the test results that I had received from another company. I had misinterpreted the test results. He sent links for further information and really helped us out. And he didn't make a dime from the time he spent with me! I wish I had started with him and he will definitely be who I call in I need testing in the future.
