When they arrived, we had some water in the basement and they quoted us based on their normal pricing. Once the concrete came up, we couldn't believe what we were dealing with. It's a constant flow of water that required two sump pits and an insane amount of work to install our drainage system. Every time they tried to dig a pit it would backfill with sand and water- they had to dig this up painstakingly- foot by foot. We thought for sure we were in for additional costs, but they stuck by the original estimate. Since then, any time we've had an issue or a question, they are quick to answer. Poor Kelly and Bobby probably recognize our number on the caller ID but whenever we make a call or send an email, we always get a response- usually with a visit on the same day. We highly recommend this company for their honesty, customer service, and quality work.

Flooding immediately from the garage door. They refuse to fix it because Anne Arundel County installed the grate in front of the garage door, with a drain pipe leading to a sump pump just inside the garage. After 6 years of floods, I finally recognized the problem: Action had removed the drain pipe and replaced it with drain tile that cannot handle heavier rains, causing the grate to overflow and flood the garage. Action never documented their visits, so this summer I tried something different: I made an appointment saying I had additional work, not warranty work, done. When the inspector showed up, I let HIM identify the problem, pointing out the issue was the drain tile that replaced the County's pipe can't handle the load. The inspector then refused to honor the warranty--again--but offered to have an Action foreman and crew come out and "fix my problem" for $1,000 cash. Still nothing in writing. Wondering how "corporate" was implicated (was this unofficial policy--avoiding honoring Lifetime Guarantees, potentially saving tens of thousands in repeat work?, or would the owners be upset that its employees were performing unpermitted and unauthorized work for untaxed income?). I received a text with the name of the foreman coming on the weekend and waited. They arrived in company trucks and uniforms. I took pictures and told them to leave. I went to the police station and tried to file a complaint but they said to report it to the MHIC first. I did and, again, waited. Today, the MHIC rejected the complaint as being 3 years past the original work. Time to file that police complaint and hire an attorney. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

We woke up to a backed up basement toilet last Sunday, and Roto-Rooter was out at the house within four hours to assess the problem. It turned out to be MUCH more than a clogged toilet...cracked pipe, crazy old DC plumbing issues, etc. The guys worked methodically to figure out each new problem they encountered until FINALLY it was revealed that the problem is on the DC city side, not in my home. Matt, Al, and David stayed at my house until almost 8 pm at night to ensure they spoke directly to the DC Water crew, as they knew the problem could be ignored without their expert commentary. I will shout their praises from the roof deck from the rest of my days because DC Water has finally agreed to dig up the street and replace the emergency line. Without the team staying to speak to DC Water personally, I would probably be dealing with this for the next few weeks instead of (hopefully) the next few days.

Initially, the water in the space was thought of as being due to the severe rains in the area. The estimate was for water and mold remediation. Tonea Sutton, at the office, handled everything seamlessly: explained the process, gave me an estimate and scheduled the clean-up. On the scheduled day, the team, led by Abi, arrived on time and discovered that there was a sewer leak which, then, had to be addressed by a plumber. The scope of work that L4 had to do had to be expanded because of the need for biohazard clean-up. Tonea was very understanding about my frequents texts regarding my concerns about the cleanup. The estimate increased a little bit. I thought the pricing was more reasonable than other companies that came to give their assessments. Abi and team came over 3 days (over a period of 7 days) to make sure that everything was dry and sanitized before laying down the plastic on the soil floor of the crawlspace. I received a call from a gentleman I assumed to be the owner or operator who took umbrage at me asking for the credentials of the tech, and proceeded to call it "weird" (that is the word he used) that I'd ask since, and I quote, "all we're doing is an estimate." I don't care if you were building the Ark of the Covenant divined by God himself, I am not letting someone in my home without knowing fully who they are.
