We tried every way we could think of to get it in the house and up the stairs ... not only was the item large and heavy ... it was also delicate and complicated to move, given its design, electrical wiring, motor and hydraulics. Clearly we were out of our league and needed help. It was 4:45 pm. on a Wednesday. We found On Call Moving's info online, called the number, and connected immediately with Jim. Jim was a Godsend! He was scheduled to be down the street from us, and made a quick trip to our home to see how he could help. Over the next few days he worked closely with Joleesa, at On Call's office, to get our job done. Despite On Call's extremely busy schedule, everything came together Friday afternoon. Joleesa called to get us in their system. Jim arrived with a three-man crew: Jesse, Sergio and Carlos. Everyone was super polite and respectful, professional, skilled at their job and well prepared, bringing clean moving blankets and securing tie downs. Jim, Jesse, Sergio and Carlos communicated with us and with each other calmly, clearly, thoughtfully and effectively. Together they got the job done safely and efficiently ... most importantly, with no injuries ... and happily, with no damage to the item or our home. Added to that were my two young sons (one of whom is special needs) and three cats. I arranged the move weeks ahead of time with HGM and was happy with the service and availability. However, it was the week before the move, when I called them in tears, asking for help packing, that HGM really stepped up as the top-notch movers and packers. They worked around my ever-revolving schedule of sick kids, previous tenants that stayed a bit too long in my new home, cleaning people, and then moving my chaos in zero degree weather and snow. During the two-day ordeal, as I was almost frozen from overwhelm, the Homegrown Moving drivers and movers were friendly, caring, and efficient, chatting and reassuring me the whole time. They made the process as easy as any move can be and knowing my furniture, electronics, and myriad toys were safely handled and packed. Thank you Homegrown Moving. Our family silver, which had been in the family for over 100 years, did not make it to our new home. Our favorite art piece, a small sculpture of museum quality, had the same fate. How interesting that two valuable items that were easy to steal disappeared. They came in 20% over their estimate and offered us a truly insulting settlement of less than 5% of the value of our losses. During the call I asked if it would be possible to do a morning move and he said he would see about accommodating it. Yesterday, I got the phone call confirming my move but they had both addresses (the to and from) incorrect, and then I was told my move was scheduled at 1pm. I asked the man if that was the absolute earliest and he said 10am. I said amazing, let's do the 10am. As we were ending the phone call he said, "great, we'll see you sometime on Saturday" and hung up. Today I called and asked to confirm my move was scheduled for 10am tomorrow and he said no, they're looking at 5, 6, or 7pm for a move time for me. Not only was this time not acceptable, but he was rude over the phone about it. I cancelled my move with them and have rescheduled with Cowboy Moving Denver and they are able to do my move between 8:30am and 9:00am. Not only was this last minute for them, but they were so kind on the phone and helpful. DO NOT book with All My Sons. Unprofessional, rude, liars. 100% book with Cowboy Moving. Thanks (:

I was able to leave them in my apartment & have them drop off the keys to management. Since the elevator couldn't be reserved @ my old apartment, it took longer. Thanks for setting the bar low and worrying me that your workers are going to be careless because "well, there's already a crack in it! So why not break it in half!" And when I asked about the drop off timeframe and told the guy I don't feel comfortable waiting around all afternoon at my new apartment for the movers, so can they let me know when they are on their way or at least call me when they get there? The guy said "Well, hopefully your employer is flexible." Wrong answer. I am not sure how this place has five stars, because I don't see them doing a very good job.Dan, the sales guy, also said he would follow up with me by the end of this week about my moving company decision, never heard from him. He has a bit of an elitist attitude and apparently thinks finding ways to accommodate people who are about to shell out a pretty penny isn't worth his time. There are several moving companies out there to choose from, so I suggest you guys change your attitude and business model. Update: This review was made well over two years ago.
