These guys did a great job. Billy called to say his team had wrapped up early, and could get over that day. He sent 3 people, Carlos, Brandon and Martin, and they cleaned out the chimney and replaced the fireproof gasket rope around the doors. Carlos was the lead tech and had all the fancy certifications. We chatted a bit about my options if/when I decide to replace the fireplace in a few years. The fireplace smells so good now when it burns. The wood must be burning cleaner, and they showed me some features I had no idea existed - there is a catalytic converter in the fireplace when I shut the doors. I couldn't get the blower fan working the next day, and Martin came back out and took a look, but it just needed more heat to flip the switch. I'd use these guys again in a heart beat. read more

I should have read recent reviews of this company before using them. Had great service years ago. Now under new ownership. My recent experience was terrible. This company, under new ownership, ripped me off and misled me with the service they were providing when I called to schedule. I told them my pilot light was out on my stove and needed to be replaced. They told me that for $200 they would come in and diagnose and fix the problem - I told them I likely needed a new pilot assembly before they arrived to "diagnose". A technician came to my house and worked for 30 minutes trying to re-light my pilot and then left saying he didn't have the part to fix it. I was notified by Service Monkey that I owed them $200 for this service and they would charge me an additional $250 for the part (I found it online for $180 with shipping) and $200-300 for labor to install it. I called and expressed my frustrations and the owners refused to call me back, the poor part time service guy was very sweet, but said the owners stood by their policy. Here's a recommendation: don't mislead people about what you are going to charge them. Make it clear that is costs $200 to show up and confirm what a homeowner is already telling you. And that you will charge another $450-550 to fix a pilot light. Ridiculous. I ordered the part online for $180 and will install it myself. Edit to comment: Contacted by Service. Monkey and we discussed the charges and our issues with the charge. After talking it out, it boiled down to a simple misunderstanding for what we had asked and expected of Service Monkey...We just wanted a second price, they understood it to be a Service Call and repair. Service Monkey dropped the $200.00 charge, which we appreciated greatly.l Guess this is just ab example of the importance of communication...from both parties. Anyway, thank you, Service Monkey. Asked Service Monkey to give me a price to repair a gas leak AFTER an inspection was made by our HOA. Made an appointment to look at the problem. Service monkey made no mention of it in the correspondence, but tried to charge us $200.00 to give us a bid. $200.00! read more

I called service monkey to replace the blower on my parlor stove. They sent a service man who told me I needed tdo other parts which had nothing to do with the blower. When the parts arrived, he came back to install them. They did not fix the stove. They charged us 2 service calls as well as the cost of the parts. My blower still does not work. Now the remote control to my parlor stove does not work. We discussed this with the service agent three separate times. They made no effort to rectify the situation. I'm going to have to call a different company to come and fix my stove. I absolutely recommend using someone other than service monkey if you want your job that right. read more

The best!! Professional, timely, responsive. Impressed with the technicians and appreciate the kind service people who take the calls.

Terrible customer service. Made an appointment more than 3 weeks in advance. Waited ALL day. Appointment came and went - no call, no show. When they finally returned my call, they claimed I was scheduled for a month later. (No. I would not have taken that appointment.) They made no apology and no effort to resolve the situation. Apparently, they have all the customers they need. read more

I have been using these guys since 2004 and always recommend them to my clients. They are very thorough and knowledgeable, and often fix mistakes others leave behind. Jiam helped this time and was respectful of my property, kept the door closed, took off his shoes without me asking, etc. He also was very attentive to details, and even found a small gas leak! He polished up my fireplace so well it looks new again. read more

This was my first time using Service Monkey and I'll definitely use them again for next time! They were thorough, efficient, and very clean while sweeping my chimney. I highly recommend Service Monkey! read more

We have tried using this company twice. They do not answer their phone. They did call back within 24 hours, only to tell us they are booking appointments 8 weeks out. They clearly do not need any new business. read more

Horrible service! Quoted incorrectly and than charged me double to what they have quoted. Having lived in Vail for over 17 years I have never experienced such a poor service! Sadly to say... read more

I do not recommend this company. We needed a gas pilot thermocouple replaced. Be aware you will be charged for each visit whether they complete a repair or not. I called for an appointment and got their earliest available in August. A week or more later I received a call that a tech was in the area, there was an appointment cancellation and could they stop by. The tech arrived, was here 15 minutes at the most, said he could not make any repair, not to worry about it and we should wait till the August appointment for a repair and he left. No service visit paperwork was provided and nothing was signed by us to even show he was here. I was then emailed a bill for $160.00. I called to complain and was told they charge for each visit as it is their policY. First they said the tech was only sent to see what was wrong. They then told me the tech's visit report stated he rewired the wall switch. He did nothing of the kind! Their claimed switch rewire was obviously a falsified visit report or made up attempt to justify billing for a dispatch of this tech that could not repair the service. I am filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

I have used Service Monkey several times. Fabulous service from Billy. I'm very happy with the service and the work that Service Monkey did on my home fireplaces. I would highly recommend Service Monkey. Thank you for caring about your customers! read more

These guys were super responsive and scheduled very quickly. The team worked collaboratively to solve a seemly complicated wiring issue. Dan and Roman are super funny -- making it easy to engage. They explained what they were doing along the way -- and fixed a few things that could have been a problem down the line. This was much appreciated. Certainly recommend! read more

I contacted this company to do work on two gas fireplaces I have. After spending fifteen minutes on the phone explaining what I needed to have done, they told me that they are booking service out 10 weeks. They obviously don't need my business or yours. read more

I've used Service Monkey every time my old gas fireplace decides to have an issue. Dan is always prompt, polite, and keeps things clean with his work. He'll even patiently explain what he's doing to the endless questions by my toddler. read more

I have to say that after all the times I have called these people and they haven't made it over here I just don't think it is a good business. They never answer the phone you always have to leave a message. I tried to schedule an appt before I went out of town and they wouldn't do it for me. I came back into town and called to make the appt and they are book 6 weeks out. That is after Thanksgiving in the mountains of colorado. If you are booked that far out why does it matter if I go out of town after making my appt? I wouldn't use them at all but they are the only ones in the area that service my gas fireplace. read more
