I called service monkey to replace the blower on my parlor stove. They sent a service man who told me I needed tdo other parts which had nothing to do with the blower. When the parts arrived, he came back to install them. They did not fix the stove. They charged us 2 service calls as well as the cost of the parts. My blower still does not work. Now the remote control to my parlor stove does not work. We discussed this with the service agent three separate times. They made no effort to rectify the situation. I'm going to have to call a different company to come and fix my stove. I absolutely recommend using someone other than service monkey if you want your job that right. read more

After talking it out, it boiled down to a simple misunderstanding for what we had asked and expected of Service Monkey...We just wanted a second price, they understood it to be a Service Call and repair. Service Monkey dropped the $200.00 charge, which we appreciated greatly.l Guess this is just ab example of the importance of communication...from both parties. Anyway, thank you, Service Monkey. Asked Service Monkey to give me a price to repair a gas leak AFTER an inspection was made by our HOA. Made an appointment to look at the problem. Joslin may appear very young but Cleaned 3 fireplaces and fixed 2 in a short amount of time a educated me on our very large great room fireplace on where the controls were and what was wrong with it and fixed it !! Excellent Service on fireplace repair and cleaning!!!! read more

These guys did a great job. Billy called to say his team had wrapped up early, and could get over that day. He sent 3 people, Carlos, Brandon and Martin, and they cleaned out the chimney and replaced the fireproof gasket rope around the doors. Carlos was the lead tech and had all the fancy certifications. We chatted a bit about my options if/when I decide to replace the fireplace in a few years. The fireplace smells so good now when it burns. The wood must be burning cleaner, and they showed me some features I had no idea existed - there is a catalytic converter in the fireplace when I shut the doors. I couldn't get the blower fan working the next day, and Martin came back out and took a look, but it just needed more heat to flip the switch. I'd use these guys again in a heart beat. read more

Terrible customer service. Made an appointment more than 3 weeks in advance. Waited ALL day. Appointment came and went - no call, no show. When they finally returned my call, they claimed I was scheduled for a month later. (No. I would not have taken that appointment.) They made no apology and no effort to resolve the situation. Jiam helped this time and was respectful of my property, kept the door closed, took off his shoes without me asking, etc. He also was very attentive to details, and even found a small gas leak! I do not recommend this company. We needed a gas pilot thermocouple replaced. Be aware you will be charged for each visit whether they complete a repair or not. I called for an appointment and got their earliest available in August. A week or more later I received a call that a tech was in the area, there was an appointment cancellation and could they stop by. The tech arrived, was here 15 minutes at the most, said he could not make any repair, not to worry about it and we should wait till the August appointment for a repair and he left. No service visit paperwork was provided and nothing was signed by us to even show he was here. I was then emailed a bill for $160.00. I called to complain and was told they charge for each visit as it is their policY. First they said the tech was only sent to see what was wrong. They then told me the tech's visit report stated he rewired the wall switch. He did nothing of the kind! Their claimed switch rewire was obviously a falsified visit report or made up attempt to justify billing for a dispatch of this tech that could not repair the service. I am filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

I have to say that after all the times I have called these people and they haven't made it over here I just don't think it is a good business. They never answer the phone you always have to leave a message. I tried to schedule an appt before I went out of town and they wouldn't do it for me. I came back into town and called to make the appt and they are book 6 weeks out. That is after Thanksgiving in the mountains of colorado. If you are booked that far out why does it matter if I go out of town after making my appt? I wouldn't use them at all but they are the only ones in the area that service my gas fireplace. read more
