This is not my first go around with Peak Physical Therapy over the last 20+ years but; oh my, I have been lucky to have Sree work on me twice over the last 2 weeks. Seriously, this dude has healing hands. There was significant improvement in my condition after him working on me. I wish I could have him work on me every time I go for physical therapy. A few weeks ago, I was having difficulty walking and standing. My right hip and mid to lower back were in considerable pain. When I first got up in the morning, I hobbled and couldn't stand up straight. Of course, this necessitated a visit to my doctor who had X-rays taken immediately. It turns out I had degenerative disk disease in certain vertebrae in my back and my right hip. My doctor's prescription was physical therapy. She sent me to Peak Physical Therapy on Lake Forest here in McKinney. I was a bit trepiditious, but made my appointment and went. I must say, that the staff and therapists were nothing short of wonderful. They took their time with me and explained why I had to do each exercise and if I was diligent, what my expected outcomes could be. I paid attention and did as I was told. I have to say after just three weeks I feel 100% better. The pain is reduced to levels where most of the time I can't even feel it. They work me hard (and they should) to get the results that I see. I do my exercises at home and will continue after the therapy has stopped. They have taught me well and the results are worth the time spent (and that includes time at home exercising). Kudos to Grant, Shree, Maddie, and all the rest who have been professional, caring, and knowledgeable. I thank them all profusely and recommend them highly. read more

I went to Peak Physical Therapy several years ago and did not know how much the practice has changed. Peak Physical Therapy is now a part of Upstream Rehabilitation. The facility is in a different location and is very much different from what I remember. Much of the equipment I really liked to use, previously, is not in this facility and I have to say .... the general "vibe" is also quite different. First, the front desk person had the wrong complaint listed for me - totally different issue. Second, my PCP office sent over a script twice and the front desk person at Peak says she did not get any thing. Third - I wrote out a detailed patient statement and provided X-rays and the person who was performing this assessment continued on with what seemed to be a standard "script" for my presenting condition as opposed to really reading what I had written about my specific issues. I find this "mindset" very troubling. How can someone be of assistance if that person will not even listen to the patient and make an assessment of that patient's unique situation? I just now read the report submitted by this practice, to my primary care physician. SO MANY things were reported that simply ARE NOT TRUE - I don't have a right shoulder injury, I am NOT actively performing activities that will aggravate current issues, I disagree that my prognosis for recovery is only "fair" and I did not communicate with anyone at that facility over the phone about continuing on elsewhere - I did that in person, at the clinic. Just so many reasons that I will not be returning. I have never encountered this kind of situation in the past. I will make sure my primary care physician is aware of the many errors in the report. read more

Best Physical Therapy I've ever experienced. I will never go anywhere else. I was recovering from shoulder surgery & they never pushed me beyond what I could do but continued to help me recover range of motion etc. I highly recommend them & their staff. read more

Physical therapy is never fun. But what I found from Bryan and the team was support and challenge and success as I recovered from breaking my ankle and surgery to repair it. So happy with the staff, trainers and the expertise of the physical therapists- especially Matt. So glad to have found him. Very knowledgeable and his experience as a therapist for a long time shows in his work. Matt knows exactly how to tackle different muscle groups with the customized workout program he develops for an individual -- it is bound to get you better in no time. I've been struggling with my hip/core instability since pregnancy 3 years with no improvement, but after coming here I've seen great results in only a few sessions. Terrible painful experience!! Under staffed with certified Therapists. They allow students to take over your therapy and they basically ignore you afterwards so they can gossip with the other unqualified students. To make things even worse, the female qualified Therapists ignores your case history that you have explained to her and proceeds to do so much damage to your knee with her aggressive manipulation that you end up in Pain Management. It's a disgrace the way they manage that place! They are stealing from Medicare due to the presence of unsupervised students doing their work for them. read more

Physical therapy can be quite uncomfortable, so you want to be with people you can trust. I felt that from the moment I walked in the therapy room. It's a little hectic with a lot going on, but I never get "lost in the shuffle" by my tech. They take great care to be sure I'm doing everything correctly for a full recovery of my shoulder. They all seem to genuinely enjoy working with each other, so I feel like I've become part of the family. I'm very pleased with my experience so far, but like anyone else, I'm ready to be out of physical therapy! read more

Peak physical therapy is very professional. I went in for a broken hip. They were very nice and friendly. They will help you work through your pain and make sure everything is well. If u cant do something due to pain or flexibility they will teach you a different way to work the same muscle. The staff there is amazing. I cannot speak about how awesome this place is. I highly recommend this for any physical therapy needs. They are family friendly and very flexible on scheduling. They also do injury screenings for free to help you know if there is excersises you need to do at home to help your pain or if you need to see a doctor free of charge. read more

Great therapists that really know what they are doing. They got my daughter back to the elite level of her sport after a major surgery. (Maybe even back stronger!) I am a patient there now. I have a sort of difficult issue and they use their knowledge to create new and different ways to get me back to my active self along with the proven methods. They help me to set reasonable short and long term goals, giving me something to see in the future and work for. Everyday they encourage and push me (never too far!) and help me reach my goals as I recover. When I am there, they work with me and correct me and guide me to doing more and more things that I couldn't do on my own even a week ago! Then they make sure I have things I can work on at home and make sure I know how to do them correctly. They listen to me, they follow the protocols set by my doctors, and they do so with compassion, knowledge, and truly care. The scheduling is super easy and they can usually get you in when you need to. Every therapist there is exceptional and I would trust them all to work with me or any of my family or friends. (They work together as a team, thus making patients care go seamlessly if a different therapist works on them, or is asked to help out.) Billing is not an issue and they communicate clearly and timely when you need a new referral or anything with your insurance or doctor. The therapists get information to your doctor in a clear, concise, and timely manner. If you have questions or concerns, they don't just hear you, but listen and address what they can or help you figure out how to address it. Again, I would highly recommend Peak! This is a fine place. Not great, not organized, but fine. I do not feel any sense of continuity. When you go in for your work out one of the Tech's get you started, yet they seem not to know exactly what you are suppose to be doing. After each exercise you have to wait for a tech to see you and check your chart... again... to see what you need to do next. Most often you are asked what you have finished. If there is a change made to your routine, it is a gamble if the techs know about it. I can not blame the techs as most of them are competent. It is they system that is broken. You have no idea if the same workout is going to take an hour or two hours. It all depends on how busy the gym is that day and if there are enough people to get everyone done in timely fashion. True feed back is also hit or miss. They would rather interact with one another, than have a conversation with the client. I understand that sports is in the name, but many of the clients are there for physical therapy. The upcoming game is not what I am there to discuss. Peak is not all bad, I am getting the work out I need to recover. I just do not enjoy the lack of organization, the lack of continuity, and the lack of personal connection. read more
