I'm unique in that Dr. Deb Holubec has treated me (15 years ago) and my daughter (the last three…read moreyears). I didn't see much benefit from her treatments as the epidural steroid injections didn't have a positive effect. My daughter, however, has several chronic illnesses and has had more extensive procedures at RPC. Dr. Deb did the WRONG SIDE of her back the last time she had a rhizotomy. She woke up in excruciating pain after the procedure on the healthy side of her back. After realizing her mistake, Dr. Deb put her back under to do a few areas on the correct side, but she couldn't completely do it because "It would be too much" for my daughter. Fast forward a couple of years later, my daughter is now 17 and leaving for college in a month. She hoped to get the procedure done again because her pain had returned. If you have chronic pain/illnesses, then you know how challenging the entire physician process is - and the reason we were willing to try her again. I call to make an appointment, but they insist on a referral. I explain our insurance doesn't require it and am told, "It's an office policy." So... despite the urgency, I get in quickly with our orthopedic doc; he rolls his eyes at the policy/requirement but sends the referral over. I follow up with Dr. Deb's office to make the appointment, and this NIGHTMARE of an office admin, Dorothy (?), tells me they won't see Ashlyn if we don't show Ashlyn's insurance card. She's a minor and doesn't have an insurance card. We've always used mine or my husband's. Besides, we've never been asked for this - not once. Not at MAYO CLINIC or any of the 100s of appointments I've taken my daughter to in the last five years. I ask her to work with us because we're in this time crunch, and the best she's willing to do is put my daughter "down as self-pay." I tell her we're not self-pay, we have valid insurance. No one has ever demanded this before. Then this NIGHTMARE tells me to go to a military base and get a card; otherwise, it will be self-pay. She argues with everything I say, even about Ashlyn getting the procedure we seek. She rudely talks over me and everything I try to say. She refuses to let me talk to someone else in the office. Finally, I tell her I want to speak to Dr. Deb, and she says, and I quote, "Dr. Deb is not going to speak to you unless you have an appointment." I tell her to remind Dr. Deb that my daughter's back is the one she screwed up and performed on the wrong side and to call me (wondering now if she even knows who that is or how often this happens.) Still waiting for my call. I've dealt with difficult people, but this office admin is a straight-up B, and no one should have to deal with her when seeking care for themselves or a family member. She's in the wrong field. From other reviews (check Google, too), she is a long-standing, known problem, and the physicians here simply don't care. Poorly done Regional Pain "Care" Center.

If I am having a problem or question, I text him and he calls me within minutes! He was willing to prescribe Ivermectin for me while my primary physician literally told me "Take Tylenol every 6 hours and if that doesn't work, go to the hospital" No joke. If you need COVID support, please reach out to Dr. Holubec!

He did not rush me at all. At the conclusion of my appointment, he asked if he could pray for me. It was the first time, any doctor prayed for me. To help me through my grieving. I felt that Doctor Brock showed me a compassionate side of him, which comforted me. Every visit with Dr. Brock, he prays for me at the end of our time. I have wanted to write this review about my time here, now, it's done! Every member of the staff in the office has shown me the compassion that is so important in all they do! To all of us old guys and gals, who really need the care, This office, will give the best that they can give, every time. God Bless each and every person that walks into that office.

DO NOT ASK HER ABOUT GETTING YOUR MEDS SENT IN. More than one occasion I have asked and always told we will get back to you. NOPE AND NEVER. Today my pharmacy is calling to get these meds filled because 3 days ago she said she would. Wonder what would happen if Dr. Brock delayed her paycheck just because. Thats how I feel. After I finally had a phone call I learned there was a family emergency for the doctor. I get that and understand the doctors needs to be there. Yet that lady I asked about my meds and told me she would get back to me dropped the ball not finding anyone else to get me meds sent in and gave me excuses. She did nothing about it on Tuesday. Nothing till I had to bother the doctor on his cell phone. I'm sorry doctor that I did that but I come to you to be functional. I'm asking for hand written scripts as if you dont do it yourself that lady will mess it up. Do to me now having to chase this down I had to reschedule my dentist appointment and it's costed me $50 all because SHE couldn't implement and or empower herself to do it follow up with what she said she would. We're moving to Portugal and I'm going to miss the level of care I've received the past 7 years! His staff is fantastic as well! Have a problem, talk with his office manager! She can fix almost anything. This office has supported me through the billions of pharmacy issues filling my meds and Dr Maxey is quick to investigate additional pain issues! I asked to switch to a newer medication (Nucynta) years ago and he agreed and it literally changed my life! If you have joint/bone pain and neuropathy, ask him about it! I couldn't live the life I have now without his support. I'm 51 with three kids under 13 and he keeps me mobile more than any other pain physician ever did! When I had an issue with tolerance creeping up, he was quick to address it. When I wanted to move to an ER formulation, he was quick to assist. I've already had one hip replaced and thought I was having increased hip pain, he identified it was an issue with my pelvis and treated that quickly. When my knee started hurting and giving out, he quickly ordered imaging. He doesn't REQUIRE injection procedures that are not FDA approved, but he does offer them! They have been fantastic for my pelvic pain! When I'm feeling I need maintenance, I just mention it and we schedule it! Seriously, this is the doctor you see for pain and can speak openly about your pain and your medications! He is willing to try different medications until you find what works best for you! He has been able to keep my pain under control without large increases in my medications. I feel like I'm treated as an individual and when I go in for maintenance meds refills, it's quick and easy. I submit my urine, see him or his NP and I'm in and out quickly without a big process. When I have a new pain complaint, he addresses it immediately. When I had to go to the hospital for severe acute stomach pain, I just called his after-hours number to have him called and he was available to consult with the ER doctor (which wasn't necessary, but I did as a precaution) and then I discussed it with him at my follow-up visit. He knows that those of us being treated for chronic pain sometimes need a different medication for acute pain. When I broke a tooth and couldn't get in with my dentist for a few days (and my usual pain medication wasn't touching the acute pain) he quickly called me in a different temporary medication to help with the mouth pain (and it worked!). I can't say anything bad about Dr Maxey and his care! If you have a choice in pain management doctors, you can't go wrong with Dr Maxey!
